I lived at the standard for almost 3 years and it was the best experience I've ever had in an apartment. It is a resort style apartment which is obvious when you see the outdoor amenities. The pool is huge and wonderfully up-kept, and the outdoor grills, seats, and rooftop area are beautiful. The manager Glenn runs the property very well, he hosts events frequently to get the community together with themed events, and everyone is very friendly there. Maintenance was extremely infrequent for me, but when I needed any, I received it same day and sometimes same hour. Maybe the best part of the standard is its location. One block from the start of old town Scottsdale makes it an easy walk to the many shops, art exhibits, and great food options. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to live in old town to take a look at the standard!! read more

Best location in the city and the team taking care of it is really nice. The pool is always looking great and the landscaping is awesome. There's a lot of pricey new apartments around but they're on a busy street. Just look at other places' reviews compared to this place, it's crazy tbh. We have lived at the Standard going on 5 years. The location is great, the building is well maintained, and the people who live here are all friendly. Not a party scene here at all really which is nice. Glen, the Manager of the community, is amazing. He really cares about the residents and the experience living there. He is highly involved in the property and is always making sure things are just right. He also is always putting on fun resident events which are creative and a great way to meet your neighbors. Lionel is the Maintenance Supervisor and he does a fantastic job. He has an eye for detail and is always out working to make sure the property is in great shape. He really has done a wonderful job in keeping the grounds and building in great shape. We have lived at The Standard for 2 years now and we absolutely (still) love it! The grounds are always kept clean, along with the interior of the building. Valet trash is convenient. The maintenance team is speedy with requests. Evelyn, the property manager is very easy to work with and hosts fun resident events every month! We don't ever hear any of our neighbors. The location is perfect - has everything you'd want to do and is 100% walkable to coffee shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, the waterfront etc. I recently got a bike and they have a safe area in the garage to lock it up. It's fun to explore more of old town riding around, especially along the river that's 1 minute away! The gym is great - has everything you need! We had a great time at The Standard apartments! First off, I wanted to mention the staff. Evelan And Rosemary were great. We had to rent the apartment sight unseen because we were out of town. Any and all questions I had they were answered in a timely manner. We had two maintenance guys, Ken (the manager) and his right hand man, Jack. They were both so helpful in anything we needed but also became our friends. The Standard is so close to bars and restaurants. Being snowbirds, this is something we were looking for. In conclusion, if you want great staff and also great neighbors close to the nightlife this place Is for you. We are only leaving bc we had committed to a 6 month term. Negatives- there really aren't many. HOWEVER, we had many complaints about smoking weed in the building As well as cigarettes outside the building. It was frustrating at times because a) weed is legal and b) if you're smoking outside of your apt not even on the balcony it shouldn't be an issue. If you smoke, maybe not the place for you. Takeaways- great location, great staff, relaxing, good insulation (cannot hear neighbors.) Thanks for the great time!!! read more

The location is perfect with coffee, restaurants, and nightlife all within walking distance, as well as amazing amenities including Valley Ho access (TBD if it's still available due to Covid). I had the opportunity to take a look at the Standard Apartments while attending an event. It is very well maintained, the lobby us,a fantastic place to hold events, meet someone or hang out after work. Pool, gym all is top notch. Apartments are well appointed. It was great to see gas stoves instead of electrical. Very nice large washer/dryer set is hidden in a closet. Apartments are small but we'll put together. Hallways are fun to look at, elevators are big. It is extremely well located and it has a working relationship with the Valley Ho hotel. Tenants can get room service from their restaurants. I had the opportunity to tour this gorgeous mid century modern themed apartment complex during a special event. "Apartment complex" doesn't accurately describe this place! Seriously, it's more like a luxury resort that people can call home. The smallest apartment is around 630 square feet, $1350 per month. Pricey, but the amenities are superb--check it: Happy hour for residents once a month, a classy and upscale pool, outdoor lounge areas with flat screen TVs, and a spacious clubhouse with complimentary water bottles. Another bonus: elevator lift, no stairs! (If you've hauled groceries or furniture up a flight of stairs, you know this is a pain) A private gym, and even room service from the Hotel Valley Ho (mind blown). Each apartment's entrance feels private and secure with long corridors that feel like you are walking through a hotel. Private balcony/patio with beautiful views. Very close proximity to a vibrant nightlife in Old Town Scottsdale. Super close to Papago Park for some beautiful mountain views. Definitely a staycation vibe--i didn't want to leave! read more

We haves lived at The Standard for almost 2 years and have truly loved the amenities, the location, the community and the staff. I particularly would call out Kobie. She is a true professional and always has a smile to greet you. Just recently she hosted the complex's holiday.party by herself, she played the role of hostess and bartender at this extremely popular event and never lost her smile and made each resident feel like a VIP. I can't say enough good things about The Standard. It was a great first place to move to from CA. Alanna and Karina are the best! They are always willing to help solve issues and never make you feel like you are inconveniencing them. Jason and Tom (maintenance staff) are also just as great. On the rare occasion when there was a maintenance issue in my apartment they always worked to solve it right away... and check in after the fact to make sure everything is still ok. The property itself is in a great location (right across from Hotel Valley Ho) and walking distance to Old Town. They keep the building in great shape and are always looking for ways to elevate the resident experience. The only reason I left was because I was lucky enough to move into my own home, but I would have stayed another couple of years for sure! read more

I moved to Scottsdale from NYC a year and a half ago, and had checked out a number of apartment complexes in the area at that time. It was an easy decision to go with The Standard due to the complex itself and the way their leasing office interacted with me. For starters, they gave me an amazing, personalized tour of the property while showing me multiple units for comparison and even providing me with guidance on move-in set up (providers for electricity, internet, renter's insurance, etc.) and neighborhood hot spots. The entire move-in process was well-organized, and as an AZ newbie, I was instantly invited to fun resident events to meet my neighbors who have become good friends. Since then, living here has continued to feel like a great decision - convenient location that is easily accessible but also kind of privately tucked away, not an overwhelming amount of tenants, very well-kept grounds with nice amenities, friendly and attentive staff, cool neighbors, fun events, and just overall good vibes. Shout out to the office staff and maintenance staff who are awesome and make this place what it is. If you're looking to live in this area, I'd hands down recommend The Standard over the other complexes. read more

Well appointed apartments and well thought out community events not to mention all within walking proximity to some of the trendiest social spots and the shared history of the Iconic Valley Ho . This new manager Kristin is amazing. She is extremely welcoming, and you can tell that she truly cares. Having a building wide issue with the gas company is never fun, but she has done everything in her power that she can and then some. The ONLY downfall about this building is that there is no buzzing system so if you're having a lazy day and want to just order takeout/amazon prime you will still have to walk down to the entrance. Not a big deal unless you're sick, hungover, or just feeling like a lazy ass. read more

We are just completing our first full month of living at the Standard and we could not be happier. If you want easy access to all the great things Old Town Scottsdale has to offer you can not beat this location. Everything is within walking distance. While you are close to all the action it doesn't intrude on your enjoyment of the grounds and great amenities. The people who live in the complex have all been welcoming and friendly. To top it off the staff has been outstanding. Evelyn the property manager has been helpful at every turn. Ken the head of maintenance dream to work with. He even help hang our TV on the wall! I just relocated to Scottsdale for a job and really had an awful time apartment shopping. I viewed all of the top rental apartments in Scottsdale, but it wasn't until I arrived at The Standard that I knew I had found a home. Marquise was super thorough, transparent, NICE, happy to help me and show me all available units. He gave an excellent tour and was so warm and welcoming that I thought I had never left the south! I immediately knew I wanted to live here, but Marquise understood I wanted to sleep on it. I completed my application the very next day and picked a move in day. After a few weeks went by (as my move in date isn't until later this month), I was starting to forget what The Standard was compared to other apartments- only because I was so overwhelmed after touring 12+ different complexes. I popped over there last Sunday to meet Mikah, who is a sweetheart as well. He refreshed my memory with another tour, showing me my parking spot, my floor plan, etc. He was so nice and helpful as and well. This staff has already gone above and beyond to make me feel at home and I cannot wait to move in. I will do another post after living here but I am really excited and think it will be a great place for me to live. I highly recommend touring this little "hidden gem" in the desert- as it is small, but has great amenities and location!!! read more

We recently moved to Scottsdale from Las Vegas and had to select an apartment sight unseen. I did a lot of research online and made a ton of phone calls trying to select the perfect place for us. The Standard stood out because of the extremely helpful and informative staff. I felt as though I had a million questions, but they were always happy to give me the answers and super easy to work with. On the move in day, we had to drive a uhaul from LV and we're running behind on our arrival time. I told Heather (the Assistant Manger) we would not make it until after their business hour so she went out of her way to leave our keys at the hotel next door, allowing us to not feel rushed. This made what could have been an extremely stressful situation turn in to a seamless experience. We got moved in and absolutely love our apartment and the location in our new city. After moving in, we did have some trouble with our dog adjusting to the new environment. He was barking a lot and undoubtedly annoying our new neighbors. The management team was understanding and patience while we were dealing with this issue. The Standard is a very pet friendly place and now Tiko (our fur baby) feels comfortable with the living here too. We truly feel lucky to have found The Standard and love living here! read more

I moved to the Standard from Newport Beach earlier this year and I have 0 complaints! Pool area, gym, lobby, hallways etc. are always clean. They have valet trash service and the maintenance staff will fix anything you need usually the same day you submit a request. I have never had a problem with noise or parking which is rare for an apartment complex. It is also walking distance to valley ho hotel where you can order room service to your apartment and you also have access to their pools. I highly recommend the Standard if you are looking to live in the old town area! read more

We recently moved in and have been absolutely impressed. The location is prime if you like to be close to everything from shopping to quaint restaurants to the old town nightlife. Moreover you have access to many amenities of the Valley Ho. They did a phenomenal job tying the modern look of these apartments to the rich history of the area. What really makes the place stand out is the managements professionalism and genuine care for people. It's easy to get good ratings when things go well. But when they don't that's really the moment that defines a place. As for The Standard, the management team, specifically Marquise, addressed our concern immediately and with genuine care. I have a lot of negative things I can say about apartments in general, but this place really left me speechless. If you are in the market you absolutely have to put this on the list to check out. Although I enjoyed living here for two years, it's sad to say they do not do right by you when it comes to returning your security deposit as per the rental agreement. Thank God, I am not hard up for cash. However, they do NOT #setthestandard when it comes to doing right by good tenants. I moved out on 7/27/18. The gentleman who did my walkthrough was amazed that I lived there for two years because of how amazing the apartment still looked. I paid my prorated rent for August ON TIME, ALTHOUGH I was not there. It is 9/10/18. I still DO NOT have my security deposit. I spoke to the staff via email and over the phone on multiple occasions. They told me the check was mailed and they stopped paid it to mail a new one. Weird, I received all my other mail at my new address but so happened just not to get mail from them...So today, I reported them to AZ Family, BBB and will make posts on several other platforms. I hate to air out my personal business but this is ridiculous. Oh keep in mind if you live there...they say the enforce the pet policy...however they do not...I can't count how many times a dog was not on a leash and licked me by surprise because they were in restricted areas...a lick could have easily been a bite...I just want my security deposit...customer experience once you move out SUCKS! read more

I moved into The Standard this week and have been very happy thus far. I looked at a number of properties in Old Town, but the typical size of them made them feel over populated and not exceptionally clean. The Standard grounds and common areas are kept very neat, and everyone I have met has been very welcoming. Marquise and Mikah both do a amazing job going above and beyond for the residents. Being able to order room service from your apartment from ZuZu or go pick up food late night is also a big perk. Great place to live. read more

I moved to Scottsdale from Washington state, and as we all know, moving is a stressful process, especially when doing it alone. The Standard went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. I had several large boxes/furniture delivered prior to my arrival, and the office graciously agreed to place all packages in my unit for me (big thank you to Heather and Marquise!) It made things so much easier for me to have everything already waiting once I arrived. The apartments are beautiful, very clean, very nice finishes, great walk in closet and huge bathroom considering the square footage. The building overall I have found to be very quiet, even though I am facing the grill area. The pool, hot tub and fitness center are all super nice! They even have fitness classes and happy hour offered! The location of the building is beyond compare for the price--just a couple blocks from Old Town, Fashion Square and the Waterfront. I have to begin this review by saying that I have never felt this compelled to give my feedback on any place I've visited, restaurant or service in my life. After the stressful experience of looking for an apartment while out of state (I had less than a week to find an apartment and sign the lease) and working with the amazing manager of The Standard, Marquise, I just had to write this review. 1) Communication/Management - I contacted 15 different apartments in my search for the perfect place and Marquise was not only super responsive by answering all of my crazy questions, but he took video footage of the apartment I was interested in leasing and of the building and its amenities. He went above and beyond the call of duty by making me feel comfortable with my unit selection, and he made my ultimate decision to call The Standard my new home super easy (and quick!). Marquise is by far the best apartment manager I've interacted with in my 6 years of apartment living in various cities across the country. He stands out because he really cares about the residents (current and potential) and you can see that in the way he interacts with everyone he encounters. He alone deserves 5 stars, but the apartment is definitely a reflection of it's management. And I can't forget to mention Heather! She's awesome, too! 2) Apartment - The unit I selected is perfect for my needs. The appliances are top notch and better than ones I've seen in much more expensive apartment buildings. They definitely didn't skimp on the details (quartz countertop, front-load washer and dryer) and we were more than willing to sacrifice square footage for quality finishings. The building just opened a couple months ago, so I'm the 12th resident to move in, but the few residents I've met so far are super friendly. The amenities are sufficient for me as I've lived in apartments with a bunch of amenities that I never used. The Standard has a nice gym that is equipped with all of the equipment you need for a good workout. The pool is awesome and open 24 hours (can't wait to enjoy a nice midnight swim!). They have free Starbucks and a huge TV in the clubhouse/lounge area for residents to enjoy at their leisure. There's also a rooftop deck where residents can hangout and lounge that overlooks the pool area. Overall I'm really pleased with my unit and the building as a whole. 3) Location - OK, this is the thing that makes living at the Standard unlike any other apartment in the area. The location is amazing - it's walking distance to a plethora of restaurants & bars AND Hotel Valley Ho is literally across the street! Residents have access to the hotel's spa, pool, fitness center, room service, and restaurant. You're basically treated like a guest of the hotel if you live in The Standard. Cool, right? I mean, I think our gym and pool is better than the hotel's, but it's nice to have options! If you don't have a car, this place is perfect because it's really close the Trolley which will take you to Fashion Square Mall, the Waterfront, the Stadium (during Spring Training) -- pretty much all the hot spots in downtown Scottsdale and it's FREE. Basically, if you're looking for an apartment in the Old Town Scottsdale area, do yourself a favor and check out The Standard. I almost missed out on a great place because it didn't have any reviews, so I'm happy to be the first person to let everyone know that The Standard is a great place to call home. I visited the standard to see about an apartment for my daughter. The location of these apartments were the main reason for looking here as it is walking distance to restaurants and galleries and close enough to me. I was shown an apartment on the south side of the building which would have worked out great since it seemed to be on the quiet side of building. The only problem was the constant noise of vehicles driving over a loose drain grate in the middle of the south side drive way. It was so loud and annoying and it occurs at all hours of the day and night. So the apartment on the south side would not work for her. She did not want the street or pool side for the same reasons. Also personal safety seemed to be an issue as well. When we were walking around the grounds we witnessed an older gentleman tripping of some landscaping material that had rolled onto the sidewalk. There is no lighting on the sidewalks around this building so it is very dark and dangerous for someone to walk as I am always worried about the safety of my daughter. When I asked the groundskeeper about this I was told that there used to be lighting but no longer. Other then that the building is very nice and the staff seemed nice as well. Note: we ended up around the corner from The Standard mostly because of the issues mentioned here. read more
