We used Resplendent Photography for our May 2018 wedding. Because the prices were so competitive and reasonable, we were able to book two photographers for 6 hours-more than we expected! Sunee and her assistant Mary, were full of energy and we could feel their excitement for us through the whole day. Many of our guests even commented on how warm and fun they were! Sunee even left us a heart-felt, hand-written note for us to discover in our room at the end of the night. Other than the initial phone call we had with Sunee, and one Skype session closer to the wedding date, all of our communication was via email. We had discussed meeting in person and having a 'mini' engagement shoot, but due to conflicting/busy schedules and us being in the East Bay, we weren't ever able to make that work. At times, there were long delays between email responses, or the communication was a bit harried, but Sunee always followed up regarding our inquiries and needs. We got our wedding photos back in a timely manner, within the window she initially projected. Within a week of the wedding, Sunee even sent us a little 'preview' of her favorite shots, knowing that we'd be anxious for a peek and an opportunity to share with friends/family. They were great! The rest of the photo library was made available to us via an online link, where we had the option to download, order prints, and share. The library was extensive, and we feel could have been edited down in number in order to highlight the best photos. Overall, we are really pleased with our photos. They might not be the most artistic or polished in terms of the editing, but we received a solid, professional set with more than enough gems to 'tell our story' and create a wedding album we will cherish forever. We would use Resplendent Photography in the future and don't think we could have found a better combination of quality and value. read more

Have you ever attempted family photos with a 6 month-old-baby (who was 1 hour late for her nap) and 2 (hyper) dogs in a public park? Laughable right? Well Sune pulled it off...and well. We got several great posed shots (with all of us looking at the camera...amazing!) and dozens of candids (my favorite). We just played in the grass and Sune went at it! Sun-E or Sune (I don't know how the woman really spells her name. But it's pronounced SUNNY) is an AMAZING photographer! Resplendent did the photography for "My Best Friend's Wedding"....literally! And Sun-E did a fantastic job despite all of the EXTREMELY large women in the bridal party. She didn't make us look skinny (damn it..I told that girl to make me look like Beyonce). But, she made the entire event look like a fairytale. I was the Maid of Honor (or Dishonor in this case) so I KNOW that she was very reasonable and accommodating to Bridezilla...I mean Best Friend. Sun-E (Sune) is gifted. She gets the shots that a regular old person would never think about. Then, when you see the photo you just turn to mush. She's the best! She was a pleasure to work with and I would use her for my own wedding (IF THAT EVER HAPPENS). Replendent's website is just as awesome as the lady behind it. It reflects her character...witty and ingenious. Plus, there is the PRETTIEST little flower girl on her site with Shirley temple curls that caress her cinnamon skin. Avoid at all costs. Found Sunee on a plum district deal, everything sounded great and dandy. The pictures on her website looked beautiful, what more could you asked for?! I was in contact with Sunee from the beginning, trying to plan out a special photo shoot to celebrate my sons 1st birthday. She told me I could "upgrade" to a full session, which in the first email she told me it would be an additional $150 then another email (sent at a later time) she sends an email that it will cost $200 to upgrade. I replied in an email, that it was "odd" that the price changed, but that I'd still like to book the appointment regardless for the additional $200. She replied with a long email stating why the price changed, confusion etc, and that I could hire other photographers if I had a problem with her pricing. I already emailed her that I was OKAY with the $200, why would she even bother mentioning other photographers. (I should've followed my instincts on that one - my bad). The "full session" would've included per her EXACT WORDING - (Copy and pasted from her email) "I do not include prints with any of my sessions except for the $500 session (which includes 1 8x10 print) but yes, you will get 30-40 retouched high resolution files, instead of just 10-15 that comes with the mini session."" So with the photo session, we are booked for 60 minutes, the actual photo session was 30 minutes at most. We didnt get as many good shots after looking at the proofs. It included a lot of "practice" shots that she was testing the lighting, but she included those shots as finals. Ugh. So out of maybe 55 shots that she did, about 5 are "printable" NOT ONLY that but when she sends the proofs over she only sends the rights to small 4x6 prints when we originally booked everything she SAID I would get 30-40 retouched high resolution files. After emailing her explaining that I wanted to get high resolution files for the pictures she says to me that I'd have to pay for them seperately. I'm not looking to blow up her mediocre pictures to poster sized wallpaper, I'd like to print them out to a 8x10 as the largest print, and that's maybe 1 or 2 pictures she took out of the 50. Anyways, long story short, I made a bad choice on hiring Sunee for my sons first birthday pictures. Not only did she fall short of taking beautiful pictures, but she didn't bother to explain her services to a complete understanding between her and I, (TOTAL MISCOMMUNICATION from beginning to end), but she was also very hard to deal with and had attitude along the way. If you ask me a photographer should be patient and somewhat accommodating, but she seemed "distracted" the entire time. A loss of $300, not that bad, but I lost the opportunity to capture my sons first birthday on film. Lesson learned, go with your gut instinct. Stay away, there are WAY better up front, honest and truly talented photographers out there other than Resplendent Photography. read more

We love our pictures from Sunee!! Which is saying a lot since I hate most pictures of myself. I can't take a picture of my wiggly baby to save my life but some how Sunee is able to keep her in one place and get some awesome shots. It's magic. Her rates are really reasonable and she even lets you keep the digital files without making you pay an arm and a leg. I had my first photo shoot last weekend with Sune and it was awesome! We did pre-wedding photos at the Palace of Fine Arts and it was so much fun!! We had the pleasure of working with Sunee through a fundraiser at our daughter's preschool. We had never had professional family photos done before and I didn't know what to expect. Sunee was great! I was really concerned about picking the right clothes for the shoot. Sunee sent me many links to clothing ideas and even had me text her a picture of our outfits the day before to give feedback. Wow!!! We had Resplendent Photography come out and do the portraits for both of our preschools and she was somehow able to not only get the kids (ages 3 weeks to 6 years) to happily participate in their shoots (these kids had never met her, but their comfort level is so apparent in the images), but she was able to really capture their unique personalities with varying poses and props. Sunee is the best, we had a large extended family photo shoot with nine people PLUS a 6 month old infant. She took it all in stride, and worked with us in advance with advice on outfits and selected a great location that was just what I told her we were looking for. Sunee is an amazing photographer! She has done 2 sessions for our family (children 3 and 2) over the past few months and we have been very happy about the photographs! We weren't looking for a professional photographer, but when Sunee offered us a family session through a fundraiser at our son's preschool, I thought "hey, the in-laws are in town, so why not"? She went the extra mile from the beginning by asking for suggestions of where to shoot the photos and also asking us to send a photo of our outfits ahead of time so the colors would look good together. Amazingly, she was able to photograph me, my husband, our two cranky kids (who had not had their naps), and my in-laws with a beautiful spring scene and plenty of natural smiles. I found Sunee through Plum District- after viewing the beautiful photos on Resplendent's website I thought that the mini session deal was too good to pass up. I actually sat on my voucher for almost a year and only got around to booking the session as it was about to expire. Sunee was very accommodating and answered all of my emails promptly and even offered to extend the expiry date to accommodate our photo session (we ended up booking a weekend earlier). She was very relaxed yet professional and she took some amazing shots of our family. My 5 year old prefers not to have her picture taken and often ruins group photos by being the only one without a smile. Sunee was able to capture some great shots of her with a wonderful, genuine smile. She was very patient and playful with my children and we even picked up a few new tricks from her in terms of photographing kids. All in all, we had a pleasant mini session with Sunee and are extremely pleased with the photos that she took. I would not hesitate to use her services again. read more
