You also get to do so while watching a Czech folklore dance show; furthermore, the service was impeccable, and the traditional Czech cuisine they serve is a true celebration of local flavors. We began with Zelníky, a delicious cabbage and ham stuffing. The blend of savory ham and tangy cabbage was a pretty tasty way to start the meal. For the main course, we had Špízy, a grilled chicken shish kabob, which was perfectly grilled and served with zelené fazole, (green beans), francouzské brambory (potatoes au gratin), and fresh chléb bread balls. The layered potato dish was especially delightful, creamy and well-seasoned. Probably my favorite part of the meal. For dessert we indulged in a heavenly palačinka se zmrzlinou, a light and delicate crêpe filled with rich chocolate and topped with smooth ice cream. It was the perfect sweet note to end the meal. And if that wasn't enough, the endless wine (red or white) was the cherry on top! Throughout the evening, our glasses were continuously refilled, and I may or may have left dinner slightly tipsy. In fact, we were the only non-group people in the restaurant, which led to some rather funny interactions with the staff. I'd say be sure to book ahead (we booked it through one of the "Things To Do in Prague" sites). The musicians did a "musical tribute" to each of the groups (US, Australia, India, Canada), though the Canadian music was "This Land is Your Land"... This was just a lot of fun. While I wouldn't make a special trip for the food (which was OK) or the drinks (ditto, but see note), the musicians and dancers were entertaining. They also had free dancing (waltzes and polkas) afterward; the main disappointment here was they didn't teach any of the traditional Czech dances. Food highlights: Czech food seems to be several variations on "meat-in-sauce-with-dumplings", and the food here was no exception; I'd say "solid". Dessert was a crepe with ice cream (pictures). "All you can drink" is included in the price, and while I suspect they'd cut someone off at some point, the wine steward was unstinting, coming around several times refilling the wine. Similarly with the beer. (The only thing they didn't refill automatically was the glass becherovka, a hard liquor that, according to Wikipedia, is about 70 proof with a "secret mix" of herbs...).

For breakfast they had such a huge selection and for dinner and lunch they had good stuff. The portions were small though so I didn't like that! I did like that the service was good and that the food all seemed to be of a high quality. But it was super pricy. Even the seemingly cheap stuff, but it is in a really nice hotel so that makes sense. I did really like their breakfast! It was so worth the money!! I just didn't like the eggs. But I had dinner and the pasta is a really big portion so I recommend getting that!!! The drinks are also made well and I really liked the bartenders and they were super friendly.

In this classic European Pub, they serve a nice selection of Czech and European pub style meals and local comfort foods. I ordered the Roast Duck Czech style, Cherry Cabbage, Stuffing and Dumpling Rondelles. This is both a very Traditional Czech dish and one those Americans can have when craving a Thanksgiving meal flavor without the cranberry sauce. The Cherry Cabbage was red cabbage cooked with sour cherries, which to be honest, I've never thought together, but are a perfect combo! The Rondelle discs of Dumpling and Stuffing were also a brilliant take on the traditional biscuit/scone shape they normally are served. A little duck, chicken or turkey gravy would have been perfect over these wheels of carbohydrate pleasure, as would cranberry sauce. But, "When in Rome", or in this case Prague... The only complaint I had is the duck 1/4 thigh was evidently cooked at an earlier time, refrigerated and 'microwaved' (which is a personal thing I feel no restaurant should ever use, except maybe to quick boil water, a liquid, melt butter, etc....but NEVER TO COOK WITH). However it is done 70-80% of the time this way around the world to "save time" and cost. But makes most proteins and meats dry and less flavorful. Not something I personally would ever offer in any of my restaurants. But C'est la vie! The service by the young barman was good and other than the duck preparation not to my personal liking knocked off a star. I'm here for 9 days, let's see what they can do between now and then. All in all, it's proximity to the hotel, the varied menu, the fact of offering authentic traditional Czech meals and etching good Ol' Chef Dom a few things keeps it a solid 4 Stars...and worth a go.
