I don't know how they are handling the non- smoking area now because I was lucky to sit outside, on the terrace over the river. Spargrlcremesuppe and Spinatnockerln were tasty, nicely served, and quite large servings. Now you can come here again and enjoy the special location! view gets my stars because I love to sit above the river (Donaukanal) and watch the light patterns on the facade of the Uniqa tower at night. However, this place left a run-down impression when I was there the last time earlier this year. Not only was the place empty at 7pm on a regular weekday (which could be a goodthing!) but service earned -3 stars. This is what happened: The behavior of the waiter when me and my American girlfriend asked to close the door between smokers' and non-smokers' area, was out of question! He literally refused to close the door behind him. Ok, I did see that it was a bit cumbersome to open the door every time he had to serve a non-smoker table. But come on, there were only two parties in the non-smoking area! In German we say "Wo kein Klaeger, da kein Richter" (as long as noone complains, do what you want). Yes, leave it open then when you're by yourself or when you have only geust seated in the smoking area. But as soon as someone is in the non-smoking area, you have to close that stupid door! And more so, when the guest requests that it be closed. That's a law! The evening when this happened I was all about failing charges against them. But of course I never did. Maybe I'll check it out again in the summer when you can sit outdoors on the patio right above the Donaukanal...

Went here with a few friends on a Wednesday night and sat outside overlooking the Canal. It was a…read morespectacular view as our table was not only on the patio, but on part of the patio that was out over the path parallel to the canal. We were also the last table on this little section, which was very private and relaxing (and good for the dog.) The food was a mix of more modern Austrian food, with some vegetarian and gluten free options. I had the spring burger, which was lighter then I expected. And we shared a anti pasta of roasted veggies, fish and meat with warm homemade bread. Desert was also nice, a very well put together creme brûlée, which I usually don't see in Austrian restaurants. Prices were not terribly high, average for the area I guess. The best part was the service. Or waiter was fantastic: friendly and attentive.

We were charged 45 euros for a bottle of wine that at retail would have cost 7 euros. There was no price list for bottles of wine and we were not advised by the waiter of the cost until we received the hand written bill on a piece of paper from a taxi company. When we confronted the waiter, who was pushy about getting a tip, we were given 10 euros back, 5 of which was actually our tip. The fact that he was so willing to give money back indicates to me that he was taking advantage of the fact that we do not speak German and assumed wouldn't know better. This is one local to be avoided at all cost. A shame. as everything else about the place we enjoyed.

Nein, danke. Keine Ermäßigung, keine Rücknahme. Mein Vater hatte Calamari fritti, die waren ganz gut, allerdings auch gesalzener Preis mit 18€. Im oberen Stock gibt es eine überteuerte Pizzaria mit Pizzen ab ~20€ Auf jeden Fall mein letzter Besuch hier.

The menu is mixture between American and European meals and they have a large beverage selection. I can recommend the burgers, ribs and wings, and the tasty Enchiladas. The outdoor seating is great during the summer days/nights and its a perfectly OK to bring along the children of all ages. Above all the service is excellent and the location is completely clean. Here in the Mole West restaurant you take place on the pier right at the lakeside, and you can feel that your pace will become slower and slower. It is totally relaxing here at this popular lake, the Neusiedler See, one of Europe's largest steppe lakes which is at its deepest point less than 2 meters (6 feet) deep. We got a Moroccan Stew, a beef in mint herb sauce and saffron rice, as well as Spaghetti Bolognese with parmesan. Both were delicious albeit the Moroccan Stew tasted a little peculiar, but since it was my first Moroccan dish, I guess it had to be that way. The Mole Burger was plain terrible, with a horrendous amount of dry and tasteless meat inside, for EUR 16. Quantity alone does not make a meal good. The falafel dish during one of our previous stays was dry and cold. The shrimp and chips dish is still quite tasty, which I will resort to in future stays. Come to the Mole more for chilling out and drinks. Food is optional.

Auch die überbackenen Schwarzbrote sind gut. Vier Sterne dafür das es kein Restaurant sondern ein Bierlokal ist. Trinken Gibt von allem etwas. Nichts außergewöhnliches, allerdings auch nicht schlecht. Drei Sterne. Bedienung Die Bedienung ist immer freundlich und aufmerksam. Vier Sterne. Ambiente Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und trifft vollkommen die Erwartung eines Bierlokals. Im Sommer kann man auch draußen sitzen, wobei es doch etwas eng ist. Sehr angenehm ist der große Nichtraucherbereich. Vier Sterne von mir.
