This review covers the Bistro. Atmosphere is, as the Germans say, "Schlicht" and not quite as stuffy as the restaurant. Relatively small menu with big taste. We both had the braised pork cheeks as a starter and they were luxurious. For mains we had Pumkin raviolis and I had grilled Cod with sauteed boudin noir and apples. All dishes were excellent. The bistro has a limited wine offering compared to the restaurant but the available wines were lovely and the mark-up not extreme. Caveat: we had two glasses of Sekt in the lobby before the meal which cost €10 apiece. Service was impeccable. Two starters, two mains, a shared dessert, four glasses of wine, two glasses of sekt, and two bottles of water came to €151. As mentioned the Sekt was a bit high at €20. Probably rates 4.5 stars as we have had somewhat more impressive meals for that amount of money.

While the menu was not in English, the waitress kindly offered to help translate and one of the chefs, who had come out from the kitchen to speak to another patron, also helped describe some of the menu items. The food was delicious, authentic and not too heavy. I was first brought out a small sample of potato soup and a fried fish fritter which were delicious and compliments of the house! I then started with the quiche Lorraine accompanied by salad. Each were fresh and delicious. My main course was the wienerschnitzel which I had heard the chefs pounding in the kitchen to prepare. It was crispy, light and flavorful. The restaurant was filled with locals so I knew it had to be a good spot when I went in and I was proven correct. The interior decor was so-so. They have some kind of chair-theme going on, and you can even buy the chairs that are listed on their menu. Ironically, I didn't find their seating very comfortable. We also didn't like that they don't have an English menu on hand. That would be an easy thing to fix, if they wanted to... Reservations for this place are recommended as it gets quite packed on weekends and eve of public holidays.
