No. But I did pull out my high school French from 30 years ago and they didn't make me feel like I was hurting their ears. (I was!). We were looking for a place to stay pre-Viking Cruise out of Basel and Basel was full (ArtBasel and all the cute hotels were full!). They had A/C - it was the heat wave/dome. Recommend dining there. Do the expensive tasting course meal - it'll be like 4 hours... it was so effing good. easy to get to Basel via train. Couple great pastry/coffee shops nearby. It's a sleepy village, but we LOVED it.

French is the preferred language and English is a little difficult but doable. You can stay the night in the very well decorated country French rooms.

Got a tip about this restaurant of a friend. The plastic chairs and the paper covers with…read moreadvertisement were a little bit strange when we entered the outdoor area. But the rest I do absolutely love and recommend. Food was well cooked and the presentation was fabulous. The chef was very nice and always had a smile on his face. The wine (Les Hauts du Tertre) was offered for a great price. Sure, we will revisit this place pretty soon.
