We did have a couple folks in our group that speak German - but we had a fantastic waiter who was able to help in English as well. We had absolutely no disappointment with this restaurant. The food was amazing, the service was phenomenal, and the kids loved being able to play in the playground and feed the fish in the pond. If you happen into this town, check this place out. Everyone in our party of 6 ate every morsel of food. We even considered going back a second night - but ran out of time. Check it out, get the whole fish - it was the best!

My husband had a potato soup that included mushrooms and he was pretty much freaking out about his soup as much as I was (in his own, subdued, calm manner....opposite mine!). We split the massive and simply prepared veal weinerschnitzel with the lemon wedge squeezing the only and perfect seasoning you need for this deliciousness in front of you. Nondescript from the outside, the interior seems to have seen better days but what is truly beautiful is the enclosed terrace with its little pond, the different sections, the plants and flowers. The food is wonderful, definitely bordering on fine dining. If you happen to be there for the famed "Candle Light Dinner" (a seven course meal consisting of seasonal delicacies) you will think you've gone to culinary heaven. The interior is cozy and has a pub-like feel to it, without being too loud or smoky (in the non-smoking area). I will add that the bread has room for improvement, just in case the owner reads this (it falls apart too easily), but nevertheless we have certainly found our new favorite restaurant in the 16th district.
