My wife and I came in for a Sunday evening dinner after a long day of traveling. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived. We were seated quickly and we had our pick of tables. While they were short staffed, our order was taken promptly and the food came out shortly thereafter. All of the food was excellent, would highly recommend the Fesenjan and the Koobideh. During our dinner (around 8 pm) music switched from recorded Farsi music to live piano. Having the live music really added to the ambiance of the place. Went with my family, ordered the shishlik and it was pretty burnt/overcooked. I believe they gave us an extra piece to make up for it when they brought it out but then we just had 6 pieces of burnt lamb. The other dishes we ordered were better. They also don't disclose that a service fee is already included in the bill when you pay, so the tip screen that pops up may lead you to think you're giving them a tip when really you're double-tipping. Highly recommended!!! My wife and I just arrived in Quebec city and went straight to this restaurant based on recommendations. It did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious! It was so well made. It tasted fantastic. The chicken was absolutely succulent! Saffron rice was aromatic, and just heavenly. The appetizers were perfect! I absolutely loved the dessert. The portions were very large. We could not finish them. We left with very full stomachs, and with the greatest satisfaction at having had one of the very best meals ever. We wandered into this restaurant mid-afternoon on a very warm Spring day. We were very kindly welcomed and allowed to choose wherever we wanted to sit. They have a well decorated inside and a patio for outside seating. We ordered everything we could eat starting with a cool yogrut and cucumber dip with pita (Mast-O Khiyar). Very refreshing! Our entrees : chicken and veal skewers (Vaziri) with abundant saffron rice and a lamb stew (Dizi) in an extremely tasty broth. The Dizi is actually a stone pot that comes with a pestle to pound the meat, potatoes and beans together to be scooped up with flatbread. The end to this perfect meal came with even more perfect homemade saffron ice cream, not overly sweet but so very tasteful! parking is street. the restaurant is sub-level to the street. we came here on xmas evening for dinner since they were open. we were thankful not all restaurants celebrated xmas, lol. the place has a piano and an area that looks as if there's live music. we ordered a soup, salad, lamb entree, and kabob. ice cream for dessert. the soup was hearty, the salad was refreshing. both meat dishes were tender, moist, and really flavorful. the ice cream was really nice. i like the cardamom flavor. i would definitely come here again if i'm in the area. read more

This restaurant is well run place, one feel that there is true ownership in this place. Well run place. The quality of meat, chicken are great. However, the chef requires to be more attention on cooking the food, sometimes the chicken is burned/way over cooked. The price and ambiance are great. Had lunch here during Winter Carnaval 2024 in February 2024. Amazing Persian food in a sea of crappy burgers and fries. There were lots of other uninspired places along Grande Allee then we found Shiraz. A little hard to find on the lower level and pretty empty when we went in. We were seated promptly and given a chance to ask questions about the menu. Everything looked delicious, but we went with Lentil Soup and Mast-o Mousir (yogurt dip) to start. Both fantastic. Then for lunch we had a Joojeh Kebab (chicken) and Zereshk Polo (Rice, Barberries and Chicken). HUGE portions of saffron rice with each. Flavors were amazing. Both came with a nicely arranged salad of lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes with a light dressing. A perfect ending with hot tea and nabat (sugar and affron). I'm gluten and dairy free and ordered the lentil soup which was delicious as well as the chicken kabob with a huge portion of baked saffron rice along with some arugula salad. My husband ordered the olives, walnuts and spices and the Beal kabob with the large portion of saffron rice. I wanted to order the rice flour, cardamon and saffron dessert however, they were out of it. My husband ordered the chocolate pistachio dessert which he really liked. The decor was pretty and the service was good. We wanted to return again tomorrow, however they're closed on Monday.The owner Maral and the server Puow(sp?) were so accommodating and pleasant. Good service, beautiful restaurant, typically Old Quebec style with stone wall, and well located, near the Quebec Parliement. Unfortunately, 4 of us on 5 didn't like the food. Personally, I had too much rice, almost no vegetables with too much dressing, and the meat (beef cubes in a sauce) tasted metal. I felt the food stayed too long in a steam table. We visited Shiraz Restaurant twice during our four-day stay in Quebec. We ordered kabobs and stews--all done to perfection. I highly recommend their ghormeh sabzi.
