Good place for those on a budget but the food was just alright. I guess these are kind of shawarmas...normally I prefer mine to be spicier, meatier, bigger, with more stuff. To be fair, I was sharing with food with a super picky eater so I couldn't get all the toppings I'd like (like tomatoes and garlic mayo), but still, this was nothing special. The bread was nice and crispy, which I liked. We ordered beef with feta in addition to chicken. The chicken had more meat in it - pieces of nicely roasted, fairly juicy chicken but it didn't have much of a distinct flavour to it because I felt like it wasn't really spiced. The beef was sort of like a minced beef sauce - nicely spiced but there wasn't much meat and the sauce was a little wet (I think drier/thicker sauces go better in wrap sandwiches because it makes things less messy and doesn't make the bread soggy). I'm surprised at the high ratings. If I were to go back to Quebec City, I'd rather try one of the other (many) Lebanese eateries. read more

Looking a bit awkward on the outside, we tried this one after some advice from a review website. Because we were not planning to spend too much money On the overexpensive restaurants in the centre of Québec a meal of Max 9 dollars ( salmon galette) looked like a good deal. Very tasteful and we were glad to tried this cosy snack bar. When we wanted the second galette split up in two halves (for having a small taste from both sides) the owner didn't want to do that despite we saw him doing it for other customers. More a chicken salad. Zero marinade. Head over to Basha or Amir in Montreal for the real deal. At least the latter marinate with garlic and other spices. The only thing going for this place is the location and and the price compared to restaurants in the vicinity. At least the kid at the counter was energetic, and he let us eat before heading back in to pay. As far as fast food goes, you'd best cross the street and go into Ashton's for a poutine. I asked if I could have some hot sauce on the side and his answer in a rude way was no. This place would have five stars if it wasn't for the horrible service. My boyfriend and I, whom were visiting QC City, from Toronto, randomly stopped in for a late bite as it was the only place on the street still open. Neither of us had tried Lebanese food before but we were both pleasantly surprised! We received higher than excellent service from the owner named, Tony! He shared his stories about the restaurant, he even brought us chairs from the back to sit on and was so incredibly welcoming. The food was remarkable. He freshly rolled out the dough of the Galettes (similar to a shwarma) and cooked it fresh, right before us. They offer a variety of toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, olives, hot peppers, pickled onions as well as homemade garlic sauce and hot sauce. We also had take-away desserts which were also splendid- we tried the Carrot Cake and the Chocolate Brownie. DEFINITELY STOP BY THIS PLACE! Ps. On our recent trip to Quebec we found this gem. Best food, freshest ingredients, most amazing friendly owners. Violette and her son are wonderful people with a talent for producing awesome food and the warmth to make total strangers feel like family. We actually came back the next day out of a craving for more. We had the beef, the chicken and the falafel as well as the walnut cinnamon baklava and all was out of this world delicious. We hit this place two nights in a row. Small and inexpensive spot with few options. What they offer is not exactly the shawarma, I would call it a pizza roll since they bake meat and cheese on the bread in the oven and then add veggies and sauce before they roll it up. I am not sure if its Lebanese food either which is not as meaty or spicier as some other shawarma places but big portion is filling and it got decent taste. Ok, so this is the #1 rated restaurant in all of Quebec City on Trip Advisor. We decided to give it a try. Went in on a Thursday afternoon at @ 2:00, no waiting. It is counter service with a few umbrella covered tables in front. The Lebanese pita type sandwiches are amazing. The "pita" is made fresh for each person. Very thin and delicious. I had an off menu spicy sausage and my wife had the beef. Wonderful and filing. The owner is a true gem. If your looking for some great quick different dining in QC...this is it! read more
