I'm not sure in what kind of fat or oil they fried them in, but the were absolutely delicious. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, served piping hot fresh, well seasoned. I've never been a super huge fan of cordon bleu (I generally prefer a more simple cutlet as I find the filling more distracting than additive), but this was a well executed and satisfying version. Meat was juicy, exterior was crispy, it was freshly made and hot. No complaints. Food was not cheap, with lunch coming in at 35 CHF, but portions were huge so it was not bad value per se. I really wanted to get a cordon bleu (ideally veal) and she wanted a salad. Sadly they didn't have any veal cordon bleu, so I settled for pork. Generally it seemed like they reduces the menu compared to a couple of years ago. The cordon bleu was good. The lentil salad came with a lot of bacon (which is always a good thing - if you like bacon). I like this place because of its awesome location behind the main station and the fact that there are tourists and locals alike who go there. Prices are reasonable and the food is good. Service is also friendly. The small ittinger beer is "cheap" and very good :-).

However, don't let the negative ones influence your decision to go here. From the moment you walk in, the service is delightful. Attentive and friendly and not overbearing. The decor is simple and modern. They have two menu options. First is the a la carte and second is the surprise prix fixe option. We selected the a la carte so we could share more dishes. The sommelier suggested a beautiful French Chardonnay which paired perfectly with our meal. Do not miss the pork belly starter which is their take on an Asian taco or lettuce wrap. It is delicious and apparently the only signature item on the menu since inception. We then had the roe with herb crème Fraiche and homemade blinis. Sensational. We split the Brussel sprouts and fennel vegetable dishes. The flavors are so unique and the presentation gorgeous. We also shared the halibut main. Portions are nice and we were completely full. But we could not pass up their take on the iconic American Oreo cookie with dulce de leche ice cream and truffle topping. Omg.... The other desserts also were pure art in appearance. This spot is not to be missed. It is not inexpensive but the food, service and ambience justify it. It was wonderful and I cannot wait to come back.
