From outside, the place looks abandoned - a derelict cottage with no signs of life. Carefully, we got in - still no signs of life anywhere. We picked a table, sat down, took a menu from the bar and waited. It took a good 5 mins for an old lady with a stern expression to appear, giving us a questioning look and asking what we would like.
Having already had time to study the menu, we decided to all get roasted trout as recommended by our friends. We ordered with our broken german, since she obviously didn't speak english. Thereupon, the old lady disappeared outside and next thing we know, she comes back with a net with fish she'd just caught, showing them to us, finally smiling, pointing at it and proclaiming "hübsch" (pretty).
While waiting for the food, I went to look around the place- there's a wooden tank with fish outside, quite a nice playground and a bit further there's a pond with hundreds of small fish in it. The toilettes are also outside, which might be a bit inconvenient, but they are nice and clean.
15 mins later, the fish were on our plates, accompanied by a slice of lemon and a plate of roasted potatoes. It was really good, although not significantly better than any other fresh fish I've had - I guess I expected a little more for the price.
As we were leaving, we got to witness the lady actually catching the fish with her own hands - someone else has ordered fish.
All being said, we had quite an experience here. It's not a place I'd come back to, but as a one time experience it's great - it's definitely something different.
