It can be hit or miss with a good rinderfilet in Germany, but given the rest of the dishes coming out to the full house, I gave my order and waited. And the wait was well worth it. One of the best rinderfilets I have had in Germany in a while. The bratkartoffeln was also excellent as well as the light herb puree' sauce over the filet. Although the waitstaff was light for the full house, my server always came over with a smile and certainly leaving an empty plate did not hurt either.

The rooms are a pretty decent size some had kitchens and some do not. My advice get the room without the kitchen because the restaurant downstairs is amazing and you will never cook a thing. The rooms with the kitchen seem to be a little smaller than the rooms without the kitchen but they are still nice. This hotel is located not even two minutes from the army base. The restaurant!!! Omg so amazing. The food was great, I had about every salad on the menu and all are fantastic. The rump steak is a must at least once. The smokie salad was my ultimate favorite. Now, the food takes a while to come after ordered because everything is cooked fresh. And I must say it is worth the wait. The ambience is just perfect. There are usually always guest here at the restaurant but you usually can always find a seat somewhere. The lunch menu is good as well. There breakfast is a traditional continental breakfast but even the breakfast is awesome. The staff of so amazing I got to know everyone there because of the length of time I stayed and if I'm back I would definitely stay again. Looking for great food and a clean and nice hotel to say in well this place has the best of both worlds. You couldn't ask for a better place in Grafenwoehr.

The tables are classic string wood with benches, booths, and comfy chairs. Christine is a great hostest / waitress / bartender (beer and wine and limited aperitif) who may even be cooking back in the kitchen. I had a good Wiezen beer and I ordered the special which was a Feldsalat, Turkey Rolls with mashed potatoes and a homemade turkey gravy. The Feldsalat had bacon strip crumbles, bacon vinaigrette dressing and homemade croutons that were straight from the oven and still hot. So good! The turkey roll was moist and delicious and the gravy top it all off. A great meal and I will definitely be back!

In almost all of my interactions with German restaurateurs, it's implicit that we will be Deutschsprechening, but the owner seamlessly switched between Oberpfälzer and English when speaking to my husband and me. It wasn't necessary, but he certainly made me feel incredibly welcomed. After being warmly greeted, we found a table. Talk about a beautifully appointed restaurant that, despite its clean and modern orientation, retains the rustic ambiance of Bavaria. The brasserie faces a beautiful bar. Fun fact: the interior floor-to-ceiling window gives patrons a unique and stunning view into the neighboring Mini Cooper Dealership, which houses an über vintage, Austin Powers-era Mini (Union Jack paint job not included). Viel Atmosphäre! The owner quickly took our drink and food orders, and he effortlessly managed the other patrons sitting throughout the restaurant. And the menus are super creative -- they are unlike any other menu I've ever seen, and they are printed in both English and Deutsch. We waited a bit to receive our entrées, but this is very customary in German restaurants in general. In a restaurant that boasts fresh, hausgemacht dishes, I would be skeptical if the food had been served in a New York minute. For my fellow Americans, enjoy the time that you get with your company. And if your company sucks, there's always good Weizen. Prost! Our dishes were very good. The Schatzi ordered the pork loin with mushrooms and jus; he cleaned his plate. I ordered the large mixed salad with steak. It was so big it should come with a warning! The salad and steak were really good, but I really loved the house made dressing. It tasted like horseradish. I couldn't get enough of it. I also eye-hustled several of the other dishes that our fellow patrons were eating. The burgers looked amazing AF. The quality and quantity of food was well worth the wait in this really cool restaurant, and the service was above and beyond. I highly recommend WAM-No1 for both the discerning German and American palate; there really is something for everybody here.
