I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. The greeter stopped by our table, one more time to advise us that the restaurant would be closed tomorrow as a group of 40 Asians rented the place out "because we are so good." His total attitude turned us off. As we left, the restaurant was not even 1/2 full, so I'm not sure why he was put out that we had not made reservations. There are better places to eat in Óbidos.

We came on a Monday night and only about 10% of the restaurant was filled with people, but from what I hear on weekends there will always be a wait. They start you off with free appetizers of bread, olives, and pastéis. We tried the steak with egg and it was tasty but a bit overcooked. The desserts were phenomenal; we tried the chocolate mousse and the house special. The servers are very friendly and accommodating. The only thing I found odd is that Portuguese restaurants typically frown on people taking leftovers home.
