It was perfectly fried so that the exterior of the squid was crispy (not dry), and the inside was surprisingly juicy. The pairing of fries with the squid was so delightful that we ordered a second fried squid meal to share amongst ourselves. The Periquita Rosé was just ok in our opinions. However, my wife and I are not fans of Rosé, we merely tried it because our tour guide recommended it. We ended up ordering a round of the Planalto dry white wine, which was better in our opinions. If the fried squid meal was an accurate depiction of how the other meals on their menu taste, I'm disappointed that we couldn't have revisited this restaurant at least two more times. I always start with the choco frito which is similar to fast food fish and chips but the fish is denser, like a scallop. It is always very good. They have beer on tap and an excellent house wine as well as many other options. I stick to the beer. If you're adventurous you should try the sardines, locals swear by them but I've never been able to get all the bones out. The bones are not much of an issue if you've ever eaten fish. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, I've never been disappointed when dining here. It's a casual environment, you can catch a football game (soccer) on one of the large TVs and they typically have music playing. At the right time of year street performers will come by and entertain you if you're sitting on the patio area. The patio look out over the harbor and makes for an excellent backdrop for a casual lunch. I'll be back in October and I'll be heading there for sure, I'll be sure to add a few pictures to my review.

We had reservations for a party of 2 on a Saturday at 6 PM. When you check in, they give you a slip of paper which has a QR code on it for you to access the menu later, and we were promptly seated upstairs. The menu is conveniently available in several languages (you select your language at the bottom of the main menu page). We were at a long table for 6, with us sitting on the inside and another couple sitting at the end, and the table settings in between us were cleared, so it didn't feel like we were on top of one another. I appreciated that the server gave recommendations that would be good for two people. We went with most of his recommendations (shrimps on garlic sauce (it's labeled as spicy, but it's really not), clams on garlic, tiger prawns grilled on bed of salt) and added some of our own (razor clams and lobster roll). All the seafood tasted fresh, bursting with flavor from the buttery garlic sauce, which we sopped up with garlic bread. The bread is brought to the table when you first get seated. It's not free, which I was aware of, but I knew it would go well with the dishes we ordered. The razor clams were juicy and sweet. The lobster roll was good, but not something I would order again when there's so many other fantastic seafood choices. I usually don't drink beer, but felt that it was appropriate since we were at a cervejaria, so I ordered a bottle of Sagres Bohemia. It went perfectly with the seafood. My SO, who doesn't drink alcohol, got peach iced tea. I wanted to get the prego sandwich for dessert, but my SO was pretty much full at that point, so I ordered a tarte whisky and a cappuccino for myself. The whisky ice cream layer in the tarte was nice and refreshing. I was shocked when we got the bill and it came out to less than 50€. This meal would have cost so much more in the US. You pay via tablet at the end and I left a generous tip in appreciation of the wonderful meal and service. They get you in and out of there quick, but it never felt like we were being rushed out.
