I never give 5 stars but Gwen earned them. I'll start with the scheduling, Gwen worked with my schedule and made sure to make me feel like I was not a burden. When I arrived, the office had dim lighting and candles lit with soothing music. I was instantly relaxed. Gwen had a warm and inviting personality and really cared about my troubled spots that give me issues. We sat and chatted for a few mins about what I want out of the massage and some reasons I may have certain pain. Gwen asked me to disrobe to my comfort level and hop on the table. I laid down and was very pleased. The table was so extremely comfortable I almost dozed off. In came Gwen a few moments later ready to start. She walked me through different phases of the massage and I realized I had trouble spots in place I didn't know. There was a light smell of lavender and salt candles to improve air quality. Afterwards we chatted about how I felt and what to expect in the next few days along with some nice cold water. Its the next day and I feel so much better. I recently booked an appointment with Gwen Stanton and received quite possibly the best, most professional massage ever. Not only was Gwen knowledgeable but she relieved all the tension in my back. The massage was several days ago and I still am feeling the effects, unlike other massages that I have received. I have greater energy and feel less tension in my back. I frequent a chiropractor as well, but the massage that I received from Gwen was far superior to any therapy that I received from him. I went to Gwen at Restorative Massage Therapy in Somerville for the first time yesterday for a massage, and she is amazingly talented. She helped relax muscles that were stiff, and she even found one area in my upper back that I didn't realize was so tight. She asked for feedback during the massage, to let her know about how firm to press. The room was clean and fresh and the calming music and gentle scents added to the fantastic experience.
