I was very grateful she could work me into an appointment as my regular massage person was out of town. She listened to my description of the pain, and then explained her process for massage. First of all, by the time I FINALLY made a massage a priority; I couldn't sleep on my stomach(or even relax on it), couldn't open my mouth wider than a cracker, touch my jaw, receive kisses from my son, or sleep on the side of my face. Let's not talk about my shoulders were like concrete and my right arm and hand were killing me daily. Needless to say, I needed this! If you know anything about TMJ you know that there's truly not a cure, but there are things you can do to lessen the pain. Well I've done all those massages, stretches, not eating anything that would cause me open my mouth largely, hot towels, cold towels, ice packs; watched numerous amounts of YouTube videos, went to the dentist- pretty much everything I could think of doing, but absolutely was still dealing with the pain. The dentist said one of the options is to they could do some surgery; maybe saw down the jaw piece and I definitely didn't want to deal with that so right before I thought about doing acupuncture, I thought "Anna she could probably fix this"and boy was I right! The next morning, I realized that I can open my mouth wider and that touching my face there was no pain and over the last week I've noticed that I can lie on my stomach without feeling pressure in my face and head I'm not having any back pain in my back or shoulder and that typing on the computer at work has been easy. I'm definitely a believer that massaging can heal the body and can't wait for my next appointment.
