I was most impressed by how well their staff takes care of this gym which in return the clients do so as well. There is nothing out of order. All the weights are racked. In the week I was visiting, I saw the staff wipe down with polish the lockers, sweeping and mopping the floors, wiping down all equipment, taking out trash, refilling the cleaning wipes, and cleaning the bathrooms. There are two main areas, the weights and cardio machines on one side. There is also a stretching area in the middle and then the powerlifters and crossfit style area on the other side. I went to a class "12 days of Christmas" and it kicked my butt. The instructor was awesome and the class was packed. There are two large fitness rooms upstairs for classes such as spinning and even kickboxing. The ladies locker room is impeccable. I even used their showers one day. They even have a dressing room. Highly recommend! This will be our go to gym when visiting the area.

Everyone that goes there is awesome and encouraging. With some other boxes around here, you're met with an elitist attitude. I won't go so far as to name names, but some of the people that go here travel from the Palmyra area because of the elitists from the other box. The facility is large and clean....don't be fooled by the exterior. The class sizes are kept to smaller groups, so you get more attention. If you can't do the WOD because of some injury or you just can't do some of the exercises, they will accommodate with alternatives. The price is really great compared to other CF boxes...starting at $10 a session. Granted, it isn't "globo-gym" priced, but you basically get a personal trainer working with you on every session. I have several friends that signed up for the YMCA when they were doing discounts for family memberships and they have gone a handful of times. So that $200 unlimited membership is probably going to cost them more in the long run and I guarantee they aren't getting a workout like we do. CrossFit itself is just amazing. You work hard, there's no doubt...it's not for everyone. I've been going here since it's grand opening last year and have seen some serious gains. I started out barely being able to do 20 consecutive squats and not a single pull-up to now deadlifting 255lbs and 10 consecutive strict pull-ups. I didn't really intend to lose any weight but I've dropped 2 waists sizes and have gained quite a bit of tone and muscle definition. Downsides? I had to buy a lot of new clothes. Well, CrossFit Rhythm is definitely NOT that type of business. Don't be fooled by their pleasant demeanor when you first walk through that door. Like any other business, they're always eager to get new members. But they're seemingly unwilling to put in that little effort to maintain their membership. And it shows. There were weeks where the gym (a small room with poor air circulation, IMO) would be inundated with new members, but they always disappeared, and so there were weeks where I was the only one that showed up for the class. You might wonder why that is, but once you get to know the owners you won't be surprised. The owners are less than professional, spewing their political opinions and racist views for anyone to hear. The so called "coach" barely pays attention to your form and technique during the workouts after the first couple of weeks. So if you ever do have improper form, you will most likely injure yourself as a result. You might think it'd be easy to ask him to re-demonstrate an exercise for you, but be warned it comes with a load of judgement and disapproval that you haven't already mastered it--because you know, all I think about is CrossFit 24/7. Now back to the gym itself. It is an enclosed room that can comfortably fit approx. 10 people; has zero to poor air circulation so even if you don't think you have asthma, you could very well experience an asthma attack; has 2 floor fans that are mainly decorative because the more "dedicated" members enjoy the suffocating heat. You'll think to yourself, that's ok, I'll just stay hydrated throughout and after the workout. Just make sure you bring your own water because there is no water fountain, so you'll be told by the lovely management that you can drink the pristine tap water or purchase a bottle of water that has to be securely locked in their fridge. I highly advise that you find a gym that isn't operated unprofessionally by people that do not give a damn about your well-being, and one with owners slightly more empathetic than a rock.
