Very friendly staff. Please be wary about their hours. During off season the website says they are open but they are not. During summer season months they open later than what the website says. They open between an hour or two of what they say online!

Upon entering we found that this was not quite the case. There wasn't anything 5&10ish, not even a few penny/ super cheap candies for kids. This store is full of souvenirs that are pretty much the same as the other stores on the strip. Most of them are pretty cheesy but they had some decent options if you wanted a Christmas ornament or some cute lake house decor. There were plenty of t shirts, mugs, shot glasses, small items with a variety of peoples names printed on, etc. There were some items that didn't have Alexandria Bay or 1000 Islands plastered across which was good. I think the 5&10 name and sign is misleading but if you have time to kill and come and look you might find something you like.

I entered the small store and immediately went to the fudge counter, in the middle of the store on the left. The lady was finishing waiting on a gentleman. She barely greeted me and asked what I wanted. I started to ask a question and she interrupted. She interrupted everytime, before I was finished, as if she knew what I was going to ask. I thought it was rude and off-putting. She offered a fudge sample. I had one of orange cream, and a toffee (fudge is $14.99/lb). It was overly sweet, not very flavorful or aromatic, and had the texture of Play-doh. And then I spied Them: couple of small, black, fly-like bugs that landed on the very toffee fudge that I just sampled, and hovered above the orange cream. That was it for me. Between that and the rude proprietress, I decided to cut my losses. They have a conglomeration of small gift items, such as earrings, mood rings (remember those?), bracelets and some candies and graphic t-shirts. Everything seemed neat, but haphazardly scattered throughout. There's on-street parking, and the only handicap spot is right next to the store, in front of the old, abandoned Papa Joe's Restaurant (sad, because that was my favorite: dining on their deck with great, live music, friendly locals, drinks and tempura shrimp). I wish I had a more positive experience. But this just wasn't worth the trip (35 miles 1 way) or the money, especially with the bugs sitting on food. But hey, I guess for some it would be a source of protein. Just not me.

He had been a few times and reminisced about the magic he felt there as a child and wanted that for our children. His explanation of how it was, was the same story I had heard from many of my friends as a child in the 90's. A place where you go back in time. Fully immersed, people not breaking character in awe of modern life because they do not even know it. Then we entered the festival. To start with the prices are absolutely insane. $19 for a turkey leg. $14.50 for a smoothie, etc. All that though I could have been fine with but the experience was horrendous. Workers on their smart phones, not attempting to even sound like they are from the past. People working there walking around like furries with tails attached to them. They are moving to CASHLESS! Yes you read that correctly. Digital tablets all over. If there is anywhere in NYS that should only require cash it's this place. I didn't see any beggars or thieves, but that was okay since after the shows the performers begged for more money and we were robbed of time and money. The magic was totally gone from this place. We will never come here again. My kids could not wait to get out of there.

I'm just not into such an odd time in our history. In any case, Renaissance festival as a business- horrible. We arrived at 11am. Waited in line for 40 minutes to get in the door. They seriously need help with crowd and line management. If six flags, sporting events, etc. can figure it out, a business that has been in place for 50+ years can. We also waited an hour in line for food when it was lunch time. The food was fried pickles and mushrooms that were incredibly overpriced & absolutely not worth the money spent. The inefficient process of the entire place had my type A personality in a bit of a tizzy. One, that's right ONE person was taking the orders, collecting the cash, getting the drinks, putting the order together, and serving it to the ordered. It was like this in every booth including fried cheese curd line, turkey leg line, rose pub, etc. Long lines everywhere with one server. Additionally, I visited when I was in my early 20s and in my childhood, what I don't remember is every show asking for money to be donated to them. Well, we only caught 3 shows because of the long lines, but each show asked us to donate money to them personally or the one show was to their non- profit for birds. If you like paying for over priced tickets, paying too much for bad food, long lines, crowds, and then being asked to donate even further to each show, this is the place for you. Trust me that it hurts to write such a bad review, but hopefully if someone is on the fence about visiting, this feedback will help. Be prepared that this is not an efficiently run organization and it's really too bad how its draw no longer appeals to me as it did when I was younger. The kids we were with ages 9,9, 11, 13, & 15 couldn't leave soon enough. Sad that there is no longer the appeal to kids either- but they could be a bit type A like their parents A Plus - the two comedy shows did give quite the chuckle with some of the witty humor.

I had…read moreseen this on instagram and just so happened to drive right past it on a day trip to do some hiking in the Adirondacks and pulled into the parking lot immediately. It was super busy inside for a Friday fall morning but the wait wasn't long at all and managed to keep the line short. To my surprise, it's also a gift shop! I couldn't help myself but look at every item on every table during the few minutes I waited for my drink to come out. Speaking of my coffee, it was delicious! I got their shaken espresso and I almost stopped for a second one on the way back - it was just that good! The location is great, right along the main street near Water Safari for anyone looking for a little pick me up it's truly the perfect spot! I wish it was closer and I would be there every weekend.

I went to the store on May 29th and it looked almost done . At this point I was excited to get it and give it to my husband. I went back to the store June 12th to see what was going on, since I didn't get a phone call or text on the status of the coin holder and it wasn't open . I was ok that's fine I'll come back, I went back to the store. Every day for a week in the store was never opened. Eventually, I found them on Facebook and added them sent them a message asking what was going on. I kept getting the runaround on when to pick up and when it was going to be ready every day was a new excuse on why they couldn't meet up or give me the coin holder . Eventually on Monday May23rd I received the product. It definitely looked like it was just got thrown together with no care in the world. When I first approach this company to make my husbands coin holder, I gave them a reference photo of what I wanted. The only thing that looks remotely like the photo I gave them is the shape everything else looks horrible .when I received the coin holder I could tell it just got burned or glue because it smelled really bad . Before meeting that day he said he already had it done a couple days prior to meeting up, so I was questioning why it would smell like he just now finished it. I'm not sure if he just didn't care about the project or what it was but I was very disappointed especially since this was supposed to be a Father's Day gift/anniversary gift. The communication with this company was absolutely horrible. It definitely was not worth $360. I was highly disappointed because I was looking forward to it and thought it was gonna look absolutely beautiful. I am highly disappointed the owner could tell I was disappointed, because he even said himself "Oh, you don't even like it." if I was him and I knew a client didn't like something I would feel bad and try to get a refund or make a new one. But no, he acted like he didn't care that. I didn't like the product at all, also at this point I was so over him . I just hope this review gifts another person a spotlight on how this company operates . The communication is horrible, The product is horrible, the quality is terrible.
