I am 62, have had severe myopia (all of my life), and like a lot of people with this condition I dread visits to eye doctors. I have been warned that when and if I had cataract and lens implant surgery, my options would be very limited (warned repeatedly my eyes would require a very, very skilled surgeon, just the right lens implants.....). Dreaded the visit that said.... well, you need surgery. Tried going directly to surgical centers, but honestly did not understand most of their options (new technology, some doctors say they do lots of the surgery you need, only to find out, not so much). Last year I had rapid onset of cataracts, vision in my left eye started to go very fast, right eye vision was all I had left, and I needed someone to help me figure out what to do next. Two of my neighbors recommended Dr Claflin, so went in, dreading again the "your eyes are going to be tough, you need to visit a specialist or surgeon," talk. This office was just what I needed; wonderful equipment, very well trained techs, and a lot of experience working with the major surgical centers in Colorado. My eyes were digitally mapped, followed by a very well thought out briefing on my eyes, exactly what caused my myopia; the shape and thickness of my retina, risk factors for any surgery and a comprehensive review of the technologies for solving my problem(s). What impressed me the most was Dr Claflin did not recommend a technical solution, he went through the list of surgeons he knew who handled eyes as myopic as mine, and made a recommendation, set up all the pre and post surgical visits, coordinated with the surgeon, and answered all of my questions about surgical options (twice after hours). Basically made a decision I have been dreading all my life seem obvious, with no drama and just fabulous post operative care. The beauty of this office (for me) was after surgery, my eyes were mapped again, I could actually see how well the surgery went, and how it affected my retina (not at all) by comparing pre and post operative imagining. This team spent a lot more time with me on what to do next than I expected, and Dr Claflin even opened his office on a day off when I exhibited a post surgical symptom that could have been the start of a retinal problem (was not). Saved me lots of travel and concern. Could not have made a better choice. Love this office.

After 2 weeks of not being able to wear them (the bi-focal line went practically up to my eyebrows and the part I could see through around it was very blurry) they tell me that the Doctor carelessly wrote "+" on the script when his note indicated "-" 3 weeks later, they still had not called me to say they were in, I had to call them. They said they were ready yet when I went in today he was changing out the lenses. Not once did he ask if they needed adjusting, they are so loose they just about fall of my face when I look down. In almost 30 years of wearing glasses, I have never been more disgusted with getting a pair of glasses.

I gave these lenses a chance by wearing them for two months. I work with computers for at minimum…read moreeight hours a day. I don't suffer from eye fatigue or dry eyes unless it's a really bad allergy season. My original review was fairly critical and compared them to Bussey's Shamir lenses with AR coating. While I think they are better when it comes to filtering out blue light, I believe it's fairly close now. The clinic itself has very nice staff. Even before my misunderstanding, they offered to help each time I needed an adjustment or the frames to be tightened. I hope they are doing well in these unfortunate times, also.

She charged me twice with a routine eye exam and contact lenses exam. Being fully aware that eyes are hurting due to dryness (because she prescribed me the Optix contact lenses for trial) even though upon my first visit, I showed her the brand of contact lenses that I already wear and have been working great for me for a year, she does not order the contact lenses because of payment. She did not even ask me about canceling my trial lenses, went ahead and canceled them (while my eyes are hurting), bribed that if I do not pay both exams I cannot have my trials lenses (my insurance paid fully for the contact lenses exam and I paid for the routine eye exam, and STILL a month later, she has not ordered my trial lenses. I am significantly affected by this lack of professionalism and care. This is the WORST place to go for an eye exam. If you can wait for an appointment with another optometrist, do so. It will be worth your time, money and energy to go a real professional optometrist and not here.

I understand dental care is expensive, but when it comes to kids/teens and a parent who is willing to pay out of pocket to get help and answers it seems like my experience with Dr. Sherwood is he is more concerned with six $$$$$$ figures a year.
