Think back to any weddings you've attended in the past. What do you remember?
The dress? The cake? The moment when the DJ played THAT song and EVERYONE hit the dance floor? Was it the catering? Perhaps the unforgettably ugly bridesmaid dresses? That's probably about it, right? Other than a toast here or there, most weddings tend to blur together a little bit. You almost certainly don't remember much about anyone's ceremony, right?
Now think about YOUR OWN wedding. And think about why you're getting married (Congratulations, by the way!). If there is a dress, I'm sure it will be lovely and memorable for all the right reasons (even the bridesmaids' dresses)! I hope your toasts will be memorable - again, for all the right reasons. If there is cake, I hope it is every bit as delicious on your big day as it was when you had your fourth or fifth cake tasting on the same day. I hope the DJ is amazing and the food is amazing and everyone leaves with a full belly and sore feet, sweaty & happy & satisfied. But you're not just getting married to throw a big party and feed a bunch of people, right? You're getting married because you found that someone and this is it! So why would you settle for an afterthought of a ceremony?
