It's so fun to show off her pictures because they tell the story so well. Beyond that, the pictures themselves are beautiful. As a bit of an amature photographer myself, I wanted her to tell me her secrets to get the the colors and the lighting so perfect, and how she made her subjects look so good. She was a…read morelittle late from running over with another session but the kindness and patience she showed in spending extra time with this sweet mother only 2 weeks postpartum made me quickly forget. She shared that she had really developed as a photographer using it as a form of therapy after facing postpartum depression. My respect for her grew tremendously when she shared that so openly after only knowing me for a short while. During the session she was mentoring a fellow photographer, "a way to pay it forward" - and again, I think this speaks volumes about her character. Her studio was gorgeous - tons of natural light with large windows and comfy chairs. I loved that it didn't take a ton of props and "glamour shot" type set up to get started. I think too many times people go over the top with child photography but Corey kept it simple and made sure our daughter was having fun. This in turn really captured her in a way that showed who she is - beautiful inside, too. In terms of Corey's demeanor and work - she was incredibly sweet, patient, patient, professional, and great with our little one. She even shared some snacks to get her "camera ready." Corey did an awesome job of just naturally capturing our little girl's spirit and personality. She didn't try to force anything and really knew when things were and weren't working. If you've never worked with butterflies, I can tell you that they have the attention span of a fruit fly and are apt to fly away in a blink. But Doug was willing to accept the challenge. He arrived exactly on time for our appointment and already knew a perfect location for the subject. I used as many tricks as I could think of to make my little friends cooperative and then hoped for the best. We had SO much fun, with as many as 10 butters in some of the photos. Doug was creative and easy to work with. He gave me everything I had hoped for and much more. The photos are nothing short of spectacular and I couldn't be happier!
