Finding an officiant for your reception is a really big deal. They are the person who will guide you and your partner through one of the most special and personal times in your life. It's hard to find someone that you you feel comfortable doing that with. That's why my wife and I feel so lucky that we found Erika to officiate our wedding. We spent a lot of time looking for an officiant, but when we first Facetime'd with Erika, we knew that she would be perfect! In the time between meeting Erika and our ceremony, we emailed a few times to talk about the ceremony, and Facetime'd once again to finalize. She worked with us to create the ceremony that would be meaningful for us and our guests, personalizing the language to be everything we hoped for. Erika showed up before the ceremony to spend some time with us and make sure that everything was in order paperwork-wise. Before and after the ceremony she mingled with our family, and it felt so natural to have her there. Before the ceremony started, she asked our guests to please keep their phones away - something which afterwards everyone said how nice it was to have a technology-free ceremony. For us, we really appreciated that she did it before we were standing in front of everyone. The ceremony felt completely comfortable for us. Erika was professional yet allowed us to have fun, smiling with us and helping us to focus on each other and celebrate the event. Erika did an amazing job creating our story to share with our families, combining answers that we both privately submitted into a beautiful narrative that helped bring everyone together for the moment to celebrate our marriage.
