RTPI is a museum, and also has a gift shop and looks like it could be used for special events too. The museum is home to the largest collection of Roger Tory Peterson's work. Roger Tory Peterson illustrated field guides on identifying birds. He was also a talented photographer. The majority of the museum featured nature photography by Thomas D. Mangelsen which were very interesting to look at as well. The upstairs is accessible by stairs and elevator, and there was an interesting video playing about spiny soft shell turtles living in the Chadakoin River in Jamestown. Overall I really enjoyed the 40 minutes we spent here, and I would love to come back again one day!

Not only does it store a wealth of information, it's one of the most drop dead gorgeous of structures both in design as well as in décor. Named after world famed ornithologist, author and naturalist, Roger Tory Peterson, a native of Jamestown, New York, it is this institute that personifies his life's work in which he not only won every major award in his field but also furthered it with such striking innovations as the Peterson Identification System, known for its clarity with specific delineations of bird markings. In my mind, Roger Tory Peterson was the greatest, most gifted ornithologist and naturalist ever and, just one heck of a nice guy; a perfect gentlemen in the most classical sense of the term who I was fortunate enough to have personally known and spoken with on numerous occasions as we both resided not that far from each other and shared similar heritages as well as interests. The displays and art work layouts of this institute couldn't have been better done, many of which are in fact breath taking and others mentally impacting such as a display of the once thriving passenger pigeon that were so numerous in numbers their flights blackened the skies but now, as a result of what was actually commercial hunting and conservational ignorance, now totally extinct. So, if you have any naturalist or ornithological interests, the Roger Tory Peterson Institute is a must.

They are very well trained and actually live a very comfortable, happy, long life like professional athletes. They're beyond careful not to hurt the animals. I can understand how some people don't understand the nature or anatomy of live stock, but they are spooked, trained, or annoyed to react, not injured to perform, I assure you. They use flank straps to encourage bucking and strictly limit run time to avoid animal injury in bucking events. There are strict rules with disqualifications of cowboys if animals are wrangled in an unnatural or painful way. You get to see the animals perfectly relaxed and happy with their trainers and handlers before and after the event. You can even pet some of them. My only complaints keeping it from a 5 star event is that it's a dry event with zero alcohol and the boards you walk on in the stands are getting older and bounce a bit while you walk. It's safe and all, but needs updating. Other than those 2 things, it's phenomenal I highly recommend checking out this tradition!

I played Tri County a couple years ago in the fall and really loved it. The course was challenging,…read morebut beautifully scenic. The fairways and greens were pristine and immaculately maintained. When I played they only charged me half price because it was sprinkling that morning when I had gotten there and because of a forecast of rain, there were barely any golfers out. I got lucky and it didn't rain until I had just finished on the 18th hole. It's a bit of a drive for me to get to, but I've been wanting to play this course again in the worst way.

I try to make it to this course every year, over an hour drive from home, and the other members of my group always like it also. A special thanks to Dan Rettig who scheduled our tee times more than a week prior to our outing. Reserving a tee time is usually just 3 days prior to your day of golf but he let us schedule early since we had a group of 7 and we had to arrange transportation and finalizing who was going to be able to play due to work schedules. As it turned out one of members could not make it at the last minute. You can bet that I will be returning here on another day to challenge those tough greens.

Our play at this course was interrupted and we were forced to end play. We were never informed…read moreabout a womans league starting that evening. We had two groups of 4 playing together. It was a slow day at the course. We had no one in front of us our behind us. On the 16th a Karen who was playing in the womans league came by to tell us to get off the course. We asked her to contact management if they officially wanted to remove us from the course. We continued play. A ranger did come out and tell us to leave the course. Even at this time we were not interfering with the league play. We were on approach shots and they hadn't even taken the tee box. In front play had moved to the green on the next hole. So we fell in sequence without interfering with any group. At this point we left the course. We approached the Pro at the pro-shop for an explanation. He turned out to be an arrogant pompous ass. We have started our annual golf trip at Elkdale for years. We would eat lunch there and very generously tipped the waitress. Needles to say we will never come back. There are plenty other courses that I believe will gladly accept our money.

The Burdick family lives on site and it's obvious they love and put care into what they do. There is also an Airbnb on site for people needing a place to stay. This was our first time and we enjoyed ourselves. The staff was friendly and helpful. They drove you out to an area suitable for picking on an old open air pick up truck. We were only picking for 2 people so it didn't take us long to get more than what we needed. The berries were huge, juicy, sweet and delicious. The best berries and nicest farm we have been to so far. They even gave you a recipe pamphlet and history of the property when you checked out. Follow them on Facebook for seasonal opening/ closing updates and current pricing. Tips- -Bring your own bucket or container to take your berries home in. -Currently no need to make a reservation to pick.

In a nutshell, he served on the Supreme Court and was part of landmark decisions including Brown v Board of Education. He also was the Chief U.S. Prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials. His views on human and civil rights, constitutional law, and international law are still very relevant today. During the first part of our visit, a friendly and informative docent guided us around the mansion. Then we explored the remainder of the Robert H Jackson Center which covers his life and legacy. There was a film playing in the theatre and we sat down to watch the last 15 minutes of it. There was also a lower level which had an art exhibit on Nazi perpetrators. I really enjoyed the museum and found the exhibits thought provoking. I would love to attend an event here in the future.

I loved the short par fours as they provided me with birdies. When I played, the course was a little shaggy which is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars. The views on the course are spectacular and on a couple holes, you can even see Chautauqua Lake. I had never even heard of this course, but a friend recommended it because he knew I was trying to play all the public golf courses in WNY, so I took a two hour drive to play it and had an enjoyable round.
