Much needed in the height of summer temperature reaching the mid to high 30c. It still carries Bee Kind amenities and I love that brand! It is outside the downtown area of Revelstoke, so you will need to drive into town or take the shuttle for $2 per way. It is about 5 mins away. I like the hot tub. There are two! One outdoor with a view of the mountains and everyone looking at you. The other is in the lower level where the small fitness center is. There are also steam room and sauna and shower area and lounge area there. There are also complimentary beverages like coffee, tea (teavana) and fruit infused water in the morning. After that, only water is available. The lounge area is quite big with a pool table. You can be kept occupied even if you spend a whole day indoors. I'll stay here again if I ever visit Revelstoke again.

Eggs include omelet, scrambled, hard-boiled and there are two waffle irons with all the yummy waffle trimmings. The cereal section includes oatmeal, yogurt, bananas, various dry cereals, a delicious home-made fruit salad (get there early) and a selection of very well appointed toppings including almonds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, and coconut flakes. The coffee-cup is bottomless and the coffee quality unimpeachable. I recommend a room on the valley side, which avoids the distraction of the highway sounds and provides for spectacular views. If you are a railway enthusiast, this is probably the best hotel you could possibly book. It is practically next door to the railway museum (probably the most important railway museum in Canada - Roger's pass, Rocky Mountains, last spike, etc.) and has a commanding view of the colorful double stack container trains that pass by each day. The kids just love counting the cars and keeping track of the engine numbers. If you stay more that 2 days you will see some engines twice, which in train-bingo is a double bonus score! The site of the last spike - where Canada became a nation, is well worth a day outing and is 25 minutes West from the hotel. The world famous Roger's Pass and McDonald Tunnel are about 1 Hour East and there is a National Park Visitor Experience Center at Roger's pass. We booked a room at the Fairfield by Marriot Inn & Suites Revelstoke. We checked in and after about four hours started getting ready for bed. I took my French bulldog downstairs to go outside before turning in. At this time, the staff representative told us we had to leave because pets are not allowed. At no time were we made aware that pets were not welcome. I asked for a refund, assistance finding another room in high season during a storm, or to speak with someone who could give us permission to stay. All requests were denied. We booked through Expedia and were told to contact them. I begged her to make an exception given the late hour, the blizzard, and that I was traveling alone with my child. She told me no without concern or apology. My daughter & I were both pretty upset when we left. I just spent hours on the phone with Marriot and Expedia trying to find another room and obtain a refund, while my daughter needed me to console her and to go to bed. We finally found a room at the Sandman Inn and are safe. Shame on you Marriott.

The Inn keeper was waiting for us upon arrival, very sweet and warm man. We got the last room which was a twin room. Two single beds and full bathroom. It was quiet, cozy and very homey and very clean. The dining area was setup family style, guests share the table. The breakfast consisted of eggs, croissants, fresh homemade jelly, multigrain bread, fruit salad, yogurt, cheese, coffee and the freshest glass of grapefruit juice I've had in a long time. FYI: the homemade jelly can be bought. I had planned to by a jar but forgot :( The cost includes: wifi, buffet breakfast, use of the pool and hot tub. To be honest, I toyed with the idea of not writing a review for this beautiful hideaway but felt it would be selfish of me to deprive someone else of the enjoyment I had staying here. Coffees and other beverages out 24/7 not to mention the delicious tarts left for us on check-in. No shoes Inn, which is the same as our home so we didn't mind, but just so you are aware. I would recommend they put some stickers on a few of the windows. When we pulled in an injured dove was in the parking lot, a bloody beak so we assume she ran into a window. While having our coffee the next morning in room 3, two birds hit the front window very loudly. Heartbreaking but easy enough to fix.

One interesting thing that I saw on this past trip was they had allowed a homeless individual into the dining area to eat. Kudos to them, for doing that as I'm certain in buffet type settings a lot of the food gets thrown out at the end of each meal and this time someone who could use it definitely benefited! There were still some last minute guest eating breakfast but none of us minded and appreciated this small gesture of compassion. Onto the room review- beds were super comfy with lots of pillows on each. Sheets were crisp and clean, duvet comforter was just the right weight, I slept like a baby every time I stay here and purposely lounge in bed as late as I can! Bathrooms were clean and towels were very plush!
