This was unfortunate but understandable, so he rescheduled his appointment. On the second attempt, he was informed that a coworker had brought the numbing cream home to do botox on his girlfriend, so he would need to reschedule (again). Finally, when he tried to go a 3rd time, he was told that Rose wasn't in the office. Again, there was no cancelation email and no phone call. ADDITIONAL CLARIFICATION FOLLOWING OWNER RESPONSE I have reviewed the owner response. My concerns were never based solely on the fact that bruising happened. My concerns involve the severity and duration of the bruising and ptosis, the intake and consent process, lack of pre-treatment photographs, follow-up handling, and discussions regarding negative reviews and potential legal action. The Arnica/bromelain products referenced in the owner response were not purchased or used until roughly 11 days after treatment, after the bruising had already significantly developed and failed to improve. My recollection remains that consent documentation was completed after the injections had already been performed during what had initially been a walk-in appointment. The bruising and ptosis concerns were medically documented by my longtime PCP/DO through UCHealth, and I preserved dated photographs, written communications, receipts, and follow-up records. The owner response only reinforces why I felt it was important to share this experience publicly, especially for anyone wanting to understand how concerns may be handled if something goes wrong.

Marvin didn't care about any of it; this review or my experience. My intention is to give honest feedback about a bad experience because this is clearly a possibility in this office. Dr. Marvin has a great sales pitch but when you have issues it is very frustrating dealing with him. All he said was that I am not wrong for feeling the way I do but he definitely couldn't have done any better and he sees no reason to rectify anything. He wouldn't give me a reason why. He blew me off. I booked an appointment for Botox and I was so excited to begin treatment and to build a treatment plan after reading so many positive reviews. I am a mama to a 3 year old and I was excited to find this office. What woman wouldn't be excited! The communication is awful. Dr. Marvin didn't take adequate time and energy to hear what I was saying and he focused to much on selling me. I was already there and willing to do what it took to reach my goals.I purchased the largest injection package that they offer; $600 because your face is $200 X 3 by their formula. My results never peaked and lasted about a month. His bedside manner ruins the whole experience because he doesn't listen to anything. When I complained and followed up twice, I was told everything from, I could have a contraindication, an intolerance, the batch could have been off, ect...I got a second opinion and looked into all the reasons he said it might not work and none of it was valid. Dr. Kenya was very pleasant and I appreciate that. Due to my work schedule, my husband ran in twice so I could figure out what to do. His presence didn't seem like an issue to Dr. Kenya, other than privacy concerns but then I got a very ugly voice message from Dr. Marvin telling me my husband isn't welcome there and allegedly he made people uncomfortable. The whole thing is unbelievably rude and a lie. That rude message bothered me the most. I've never had someone, let alone a Dr. be that unprofessional. Who acts like that? My husband stood in the waiting room and ended up talking to Dr. Kenya who seemed friendly and she mentioned that they would find a resolution. A lie I guess. He ran in a week later when we weren't contacted to see if there was a good time to schedule an appointment. He left a number and left. I confronted Dr. Marvin about his voicemail, I explained the situation and he said he understood but continued to rudely talk about my husband. That crossed a line. My husband is prior Law Enforcement, he works for the Government and he is a very respectful and composed man. He didn't do anything wrong. No one said ANYTHING about his presence being unwanted until Marvin got in his ego. The crazy thing is left that he left me that nasty vm and then called my husband to talk about the situation but didn't relay any of his ugly message to him directly. I guess he's only comfortable being rude to women. It's unreal. He crossed so many lines but if he doesn't validate it, it doesn't exist. How unprofessional. We spoke on the phone for an hour, he was egotistical, he had no strategy to help fix the situation, he was dismissive but he is sorry I "feel the way I do.' It would be nice to receive a genuine apology for his conduct. He had no answers and he simply told me it's not his fault, i have paid in full so we are essentially done. I am not welcome back and I am an ex client so there's essentially no point in my satisfaction with their office. This is by far the worst and most unprofessional experience I've ever had in any way. We didn't do anything wrong. This is what happens if you have issues with their service I guess. The first two pics are after receiving 60 units of Botox at PureLee Redefined. With these pictures Dr. Marvin deemed that there was enough of an improvement and he was satisfied with the work. I had developed Hashimotos as a result and had horrible inflammation and joint pain, to the point other doctors wanted to test me for RA and Lupus. I am in my 30s and this was not normal!! Sadly, I did not have a good experience largely due to the communication style of my practitioner…read more I went through treatment for certain health issues and was issued a massive amount of expensive supplements. While these are top notch supplements, I had reactions to some of them, with one being severe and intolerable. When I attempted to advocate for myself, I was treated like I didn't know what I was talking about but adjustments were made. Then came introduction of another new supplement. This one caused me literal pain and worse symptoms. But I endured it like a dummy for three days. Finally I gave up and contacted the practitioner. When I attempted to explain the issue, I was immediately cut off and schooled on why I needed to take it (despite other experts advising against it). He refused to listen until I firmly advocated for myself. This was extremely uncomfortable for me as someone with medical-related PTSD. Only then did he finally do a thorough inquiry as to what I previously attempted to explain. But this was not just someone having a bad day. --- No, this was just one of numerous conversations where I experienced what felt like a dismissive, arrogant, and unkind attitude. During consults, my voice only felt heard if I expressed "progress". There was little time or patience for issues, questions or concerns with regard to my treatment plan. I honestly couldn't wait until treatment was over so I didn't have to deal with this person anymore. Even medical doctors I've had over my lifetime never treated me so horribly. Appointments felt rushed and almost always started late. My first appointment started 35 minutes late! There was Always some excuse and then being rushed through consults despite spending money that took me years to save! In my opinion, there was a total lack of empathy, a lot of showmanship and arrogance as the expert with "XX number of years' experience" and anecdotal stories. I don't believe mentioning the practitioner by name is going to do any good. After working many years in academia, with professors and doctors, there was little accountability or consequence for their rude behaviors. An elitist attitude prevailed like they knew they were nearly untouchable. Since the main health issue remains even after my treatment, I went on to work with a different functional doctor who whole-heartily agreed that a different approach was warranted that did not include many of the supplements previously given to me. (Several of which I paid for ahead of time but never used due to bad reactions). This new practitioner worked closely with me, outlining a diet to reduce my symptoms, reduce reactive supplements due to my individual sensitivity, and provided a much more precise eating plan of what to eat, how much to eat, and when to eat. These changes alone were game changers for me in reducing daily symptoms. If you consider getting services with Thrive, they do offer wonderful tests and can help you. But my advice is to proceed with caution if you are a vocal person who asks a lot of questions or cannot follow their rigid supplement plan for whatever reason. If you want or need someone who really takes the time to listen and collaborate with you in an empathetic, respectful way, look elsewhere.
