Listen- I was born and raised in Austin, Texas so I know consignment shops to a "T". After moving to Kansas City I quickly scoured the town for the best in the area-and headed off to several in both Westport and Overland Park that Yelp claimed were some of the best in town. This shop, however, is BY FAR heads and shoulders above the rest. When you walk into this store everything about it screams upscale, chic, modern-yet-vintage boutique. The decor is perfection (and something I always promise I will try to craft for my own home) and the window displays are perfectly styled to give you an idea of the season's trends and the store's offerings. The owners/staff are also the most welcoming, friendly bunch I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. (I can tell you I've walked into Ditto and Clothz Minded several times and never once been told "Hi" or treated like a valued customer. ) And if the initial greeting doesn't sell you-try plucking something off the rack and wait to see how long it takes one of the owners or staff to offer to place your items in a fitting room for you a-la-Free People and other high end boutiques. THAT'S customer service, my friends. As far as some of these negative reviews go-I'd like to remind everyone that one of the most important parts of owning a store like this is knowing your buyer. They can't buy everything you want to sell them-they'd hemorrhage money like crazy if they purchased everything people bring in. If the put forth the money for purchase-they need to know the item is going to have a buyer. I know it's hard to walk into a store, hopeful that you will receive a ton of money for items you no longer want. But unfortunately if you no longer want them you have to realize there's a good chance that others won't either. And it's Revive's job to make that tough decision so when I - as their buyer - go there looking for new fashion finds I'm not slapped in the face with ten year old GAP pieces that were on trend in 2009 or a plethora of forever 21, american eagle and other teeny bopper brands that have no place being in the wardrobe of anyone over 15 (I'm looking at you Ditto. *glare*) And this is why I can't say enough great things about this store. ALL of the clothing I've purchased has been on trend, in perfect condition (sometimes NWT) and sold at MUCH better prices than online retailers or other local consignment stores. I've walked out with Free People and Marc Jacobs for under $10. I've purchased a $1000 limited edition AUTHENTIC Coach bag from them for $350 after discounts. And EVERY time I visit I purchase at least one jewelry item that the owner has specifically purchased a gold and silver version of to sell in the store (if the silver version is out-I've probably gotten there before you. :D) And that says a LOT about this store and the owner's understanding of the fashion industry. As a buyer I feel like this store was MADE for me. Do I like everything they have on the racks? No. Do I walk in every time thinking "Ugh, this is my favorite store and I'm about to do some damage?" Yes. Do yourself a favor and give this shop a try. Don't let the negative reviews fool you-this place is a gem that'd I'd completely miss if I ever left KC. * And in response to the lone review about the replica bag-do homework before ever purchasing something from a brand like Louis Vuitton or Coach that is known to be easily counterfeited. If you are ever unsure and authenticity is of great concern to you-I'd recommend checking out readily available online guides to assist you in your purchase. Yesterday, I dropped off a mix of clothes. The girl was nice, told me my clothes would be reviewed tomorrow, and to come when I receive a text. Fast forward to today: I receive a text message saying my clothes have been processed and I have an offer ready. Excited, I arrive at the store, only to be told that they are looking for fall clothes. They told me to bring my clothes next year. No offer was given. I'm sorry, but it is not good business to tell someone that he/she has an offer ready, only to not receive any money at all. Additionally, there were clothes I brought that, with the right accessories, such as a shrug, could easily be fall clothes because of the colors. At first, I told them to donate my clothes, but after giving it some thought, returned and took them back. I wish the girl yesterday would have told me they are only accepting fall clothes. I would have gone through the box and pulled out the fall pieces right then and there. Instead, I feel like they didn't go through the box in its entirety and my time as a customer was not valuable to them. read more

I have shopped here for YEARS. The staff is always so kind and the selection of items is fresh and on trend. The owners are fantastic to work with and Elena went above and beyond for me today. I highly suggest you drop in if you like high end handbags and apparel at reasonable prices. read more

There are many clothing items missing buttons, stains etc. one could certainly purchase new items at these ridiculous prices.

I went there twice and left with an armload of items of designers I love both times, like 7, Marc Jacobs & a balenciaga purse for somewhere around $50. read more

I went in to sell some stuff and they gave me a very reasonable offer, I didn't feel like I got scammed like you sometimes do at Plato's. So I was looking around shopping and their prices are great too! I got the cutest lulu dress for under 50$!!! Love this place and their boutique side is adorable also. read more

I brought in a handful of items, mostly upscale, a few not so upscale. Out of all the items including the higher priced ones, they took a $80 purse and a $30 sweater and offered $10. I get it that they are trying to make a profit, and that it wasn't personal, but it was almost a slap in the face. I said I would take he purse back and she told me to just take it all back. It was insulting because of how she said it. I will not be coming back here to sell my items. read more

Wonderful staff! I have gone twice in the past few weeks with different bundles of clothing, and both times, the workers were fair and gave me a decent amount of cash and complimented my style. In the past few years, I had a negative opinion towards Revive. For example, last summer, I sold a brand new pair of Steve Madden boots ($110 retail), two pairs of Nike running shorts, and two tops, and they gave me $17.. not fair at all. However, I decided to give the store another chance, and I have noticed a difference in the staff and the fairness of pricing when it comes to giving sellers cash. Every staff member I have encountered this summer has been respectful, kind, and approachable! Revive is definitely my new go-to store to sell clothes now in Kansas City. Revive used to be the place I would go to first to sell my clothes. I brought in a large basket full of nice, clean clothing. They bought 4 items out of 30+ items that I brought in. The lady looking through my clothing kept asking the cashier what she thought about a certain item of my clothing, the cashier replied, "it's old ..." It is unprofessional to talk about the sellers clothing, in front of the seller. Revive is not the consignment shop that I remember when they first started out. Revive sells to many high end items, such as Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs, and Kate Spade. I liked it when they sold moderate priced items. After my experience today, I will not be selling to them any longer. read more

I've brought clothes in twice now, one pile last year and one this year. I am from New York and have a lot of high end brands that may not be familiar to these workers. They only want typical basic brands like MK. They don't offer much of anything, I would not attempt to sell anything back again. I just think that if you're in the retail and fashion field you should really be up to date on brands and good quality clothing. read more

This place is not like your ordinary resale shop. It looks like a brand new clothing store. Wonderful fixtures and nice decor. I have to say the owners, Chris and Heather, are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I have bought tons of clothes, shoes and purses there (I like the expensive lines). BUT they have everything and everyone's sizes. Also nice selection of men's clothing. They have even designers stuff, really nice stuff! Everyone that works there has been more than helpful. If you like great style it's a fabulous place, if you love designer better run there before I do! read more

This is a neat store and I always enjoy going in here. It's clean and the owners are very nice. My only compliant is that a lot of the stuff is very basic. I rarely find anything but when j do it's something quite different. It seems there are a lot of larger sizes which is great bc so many women find it difficult to locate good condition consignment items in such sizes. If you enjoy being patronized or looked down upon, this is the perfect place for you! I have been into Revive a couple of times and been treated unkindly on more than one occasion by the staff, but it takes a lot for me to feel strongly enough to post or share about my experience. Today I visited to see if I could sell a few items of clothing as well as Tory Burch jewelry. I was told to wait until the sales associate finished her conversation with her coworker (about how appalled they were at the petty actions of another coworker-very professional). The blond woman working then took my bag of clothing and shoved a form at me for me to fill out. I tried talking to the woman and letting her know that I had jewelry I wanted to also sell but it was small and I didn't want it to be lost in the mess of other clothing on the counter. She said 'uh-huh' without even glancing my way. I filled the form out and then repeated myself to make sure she saw what I was trying to hand her. She still did not look up and told me to go look around while I waited. This as my first irritation-usually having a conversation with someone involves looking up and making eye contact. I waited thirty minutes as the woman and two other coworkers chatted and whispered about how to break the news that they didn't want anything in my bag (I was sitting ten feet away and could hear everything they were saying). They finally called me up to the counter and informed me they didn't find anything in my bag of clothing, as if I hadn't heard them gossiping about it for the past five minutes. This is the second time I have been into the store trying to sell something (both times expensive items I no longer use) and have been treated very poorly. I was treated as if the items in my bag weren't good enough and neither was I. If they didn't feel as though the items I was trying to sell were a good fit for the store, they could have politely let me know what was wrong with the items and told me to have a nice day. I agree they can't buy everything from every customer, but what they can do is be kind every person who comes through the door. Revive's employees need to learn how to respect others and not make customers feel small and patronized. I certainly will never be going into this store again, and will let everyone know how rudely I was treated the entire time I was in the store. read more

This store is awful! It sells fake items and tries to pass it off as real. Don't trust them. They lie.

I shopped at this store several times over the years but this week had the worst experience! I purchased what I thought was a designer pair of shoes after I was told the owner does the authenticating. Within an hour of leaving the store I discovered the shoes are a replica of the original after comparing them to photos of the shoe at a finer department store online. I called and spoke with the owner who tried to assure me he does not sell replicas, he trusts the original owner of the shoes but he would not and could not produce any actual evidence of their authenticity otherwise. He did however offer to keep $78 and refund only $60 of the $138 I paid for the shoes! I went back to the store the next day to return the shoes with evidence in hand -screen shots from the department store website, enlarged photos of the authentic shoes but the owner's mind was made up. He argued, yelled across the store, accused me of not understanding "resale" all in front of a child, his employee and another customer. He handed me $60 in cash even though I had originally paid with my MC and he did not provide proof of the return with a receipt. No paper trail this way I guess. If after reading my review you decide to shop at ReVive, beware of their "return policy", the quality and origin of the merchandise and their poor customer service. read more

This is the most organized and awesome resale store I have EVER shopped! The Owners and Staff take pride in every aspect of the entire place! If you are not real familiar with upscale buying then it might seem a little pricey, but if you know anything about authenticity and authentic merchandise then you will know that you are getting a good buy and the REAL thing! The Owners and Staff are absolutely terrific and very helpful. Since it is upscale, you will not only see expensive brands that amaze you, but also brands that are still upscale, but more affordable for the less expensive taste and are truly desirable and affordable. This store is definitely my kind of store and I LOVE IT!!! read more
