They ask you take your shoes off and hand you booties to wear over your socks to keep the salt cave purified. I was all by myself in the cave but there is room for about 20 people. You sit in these antigravity chairs which recline back and kind of do make you feel as if you're floating. Each chair has its own set of headphones but I found the volume a bit loud and I struggled with turning it down. Next time I'll ask for assistance. Then the lights go out and for 45 minutes you're immersed in this tranquil serene environment that is extremely relaxing. I almost fell asleep. I have autoimmune issues so try to get massage therapy semi-regularly for chronic pain relief. She is also a Certified Lymphatic Therapist and her sessions always relieve my inflammation and improve immune function. She recently added Cranial Fascial Therapy to her practice, which focuses on releasing tension in the fascia and nervous system. I had a couple of sessions in January and wow, my head felt ten pounds lighter afterwards because it released so much tension from my neck, shoulders, and lower back. It may sound strange but it also helped improve my concentration and focus. Last week I had seven straight days of lower back pain from a muscle spasm and could barely walk. I finally got myself in to see Mandy for the fascia work which is gentle, not aggressive but breaks up scar tissue and tension.
