I discovered the Revolution Bar after having wandered around the area for an hour or so wondering where to go and eat. Anyway I went and was amazed to find that it had a really warm,friendly atmosphere,big open rooms,comfortable booths to sit in and very smart,snazzy decor. Next I ordered food from a really small menu,but my selection was mostly dictated by the fact that all the dishes sounded very nice. I must admit I was not mistaken in my choice because the food was just amazing- big portions for a bar/pub type place. The staff were all very friendly,helpful and more than happy to make our eating experience very nice. I have been to a lot places where the food has been so good but the service so awful-especially if the waiting are unfriendly. read more

Surprisingly lovely grub. When you walk past enough Revolution Bars at night with the traditional larger louts and tweenies hanging around outside smashed off their face - you do just that. Walk past and keep on walking. Revolution bar has not got the best reputation. However a friend of mine dragged me in on a Tuesday afternoon after work and I was plesantly surprised. Early evening the atmosphere is really relaxed. Table service (although a tad slow) was nice. There is not a great veggie selection on the menu, but I opted for the beetroot and goats cheese pizza which was a bit different and tasted really yummy. Ive since seen that combination everywhere, but at the time it was novel. Overal not a bad place at all for a girly catch up with cocktails. read more

I came here on the weekend to have a coffee with a friend. It was around 1.30pm and the place had maybe 20 people in total in there. Upon entry no one acknowledged we'd walked in, so we made our way to some seats and sat down. After around 5mins no one came to see us at all, so we went to the bar to order. It wasn't too clear if there was table service. The bar staff then told us, someone would come and take the order. Another 5mins, and we'd finally ordered coffees. They came out about 10mins later, and still the place didn't have much more than 20 customers. The food didn't tempt me at all, and after our coffees we went for a walk, and ended up having Nando's, lol. Not sure I'd come back, maybe to taste the infused vodka's, but I'm not going to go out of my way for them. read more

Delicious burgers and beautiful cocktails...Great ambience! I had a very good deal on Groupon for a burger and a cocktail! Waitress was very friendly and professional. My order was taken fast and delicious spicy chicken burger with awesome chips was delivered even faster! Cocktail was really nice and the whole experience was 10 out of 10! I highly recommend Revolution, Clapham Junction, as it is so conveniently located and has a great vibe for any occasion: dinner, lunch only drinks, or even just a cup of coffee! read more

Surprisingly delicious food. I have been into Revolution on occasion for drinks but it is not somewhere I would go very often. Last night my friend and I were looking for somewhere we could have a quick bite to eat at a reasonable price. We had tried a couple of places first but they were full and then noticed that Revolution serve food so decided to give it a go. There was a nice atmosphere and as it was a Tuesday night it wasn't too busy and we found a table quickly. The menu was simple enough with a choice of sharing food, burgers, pizza etc. I went for the Blackened Chicken Burger and my friend ordered the Peppercorn burger. I really wasn't expecting that much but I was in for a very pleasant surprise. My chicken was delicious, moist, succulent and very well-seasoned. The burger bun was soft and just toasted enough, while the fries were tasty and not a bit oily. The coleslaw which came on the side was lovely, particularly as it did not contain raw onion, a real dislike of mine. My friend was equally complimentary of hers, in particular commenting on the how nice the burger bun was and that the burger was not at all greasy and tasted great. To top it all off the service was great, and the staff were really pleasant and friendly. read more

A vodka bar, but does have lagers and Guinness. Food served all day. Has a separate bar area to the right, Vey comfortable chesterfield sofas. The seat around the tables are equally as comfortable, but not all. If you are going to visit when it is busy, get there early as some tables have hard platistic seats, which look like they come from the 1970's. read more

Went here for drinks and a bite to eat on Wednesday evening with a friend. When we walked into the bar, it was rather noisy with background music, but luckily there is a smaller lounge which is much quieter and more conducive to good conversation. The pizza was tasty, and the drink selection good. We had the Pinot Noir, which was excellent and just the right temperature. My only slight criticism is that my friend has a serious egg allergy, and when I asked the barman to check the wine bottle label for egg (yes, sometimes wine has egg in it - who knew!), he didn't seem entirely impressed/was a little grumpy. But the other service staff we had throughout the evening were good. read more

At first I had doubts about this place, I just felt its not my sort of thing but still can be perfect for a hen-party- I thought. Nice people, quite satisfying late 90's disco music (not my favorite tunes- but it wasn't my hen night) and an overall good atmosphere. The big jugs of pitchers that we ordered definitely worth their price- they were full of alcohol. No wonder after a few jugs I ended up chatting to the toilet lady while a willy- straw was hanging out of my mouth. Just nothing to say as it was so bad . I don t even not ate.. no manners at all those waiters, no informations , the waiter said to me to seat and he left and when i went to bar to ask to order :) one another just literally said to me that kitchen was closed.. no recommend this place especially for people had a very big day at work. read more

We had a leaving party for one of my colleagues. We got there just in time for happy hour. Food was great and the place was buzzing. Only downside was that the cocktails seemed non alcoholic to me. All in all a great night out. read more

I made a reservation at this Clapham branch for a Saturday evening after winning a competition that included a mini masterclass and a bar tab, in conjunction with their new drinks menu. We were greeted by one of the staff members who then brought us to our table at the back. Not long after we were brought to the bar to have our mini masterclass with Jamie, one of the bartenders. Jamie was really friendly and easygoing, and we each took turns to make a drink behind the bar. We also had some free shits after which was pretty cool. We tried a few of the cocktails from the menu - we did enjoy the drinks, even though some of them could have done with some better presentation. But tasty cocktails nonetheless, my favourites were the Strawberry Woo Woo and the Rum Bongo. We also ordered some food, although I wasn't too impressed with mine. I ordered the Skinny Burger, which is basically a bun-less burger with sweet potato chips. The meat was clearly overcooked and really tough that I had trouble cutting it up with the knife, and the sweet potato fries didn't taste much better, and had a really mushy texture... My friend ordered the steak with a salad side which thankfully wasn't too bad. However it also took ages for our orders to arrive - more than half an hour, and it was still quite early in the evening. Service was a bit slow but at least we got the drinks that we ordered. Overall we still had a good evening catching up, quite a great venue, but make sure you make a booking if you want to get a good table - the tables at the back are quite nice with the sofas. A friend had suggested the Revolution Bar for a Birthday night celebration venue. On entering, the place provided was nicely busy and the atmosphere was welcoming - not pretentious, but not chavvy either. A good mix of groups. The range of drinks on offer were good, without being over the top and the prices were pretty reasonable too I thought. I can't comment on the food, the group I was with were drinking only. The place has a DJ and a little space to let down your hair and have a dance, but by all accounts, most of the clientelle seemed to be enjoying the music where they stood - be it on the 'dance' floor or by the bar. At this point, I just have to raise a little disappointment regarding the lack of more up-to-date tracks behind the decks. Most of the tunes were mid to late nineties stuff, which is OK, but something more recent would have been good to add to the mix I feel. Otherwise a good night and I'm sure I'll be back again soon. read more

The new Revolution Bar at Clapham Junction has had a massive revamp from the old Yates that use to occupy the site. I went on a Friday night. The fact that I was asked for ID (I'm 25) alerted me to the fact that I think this place is used to a lot of under-agers trying to get in and inside the crowd was pretty young. Its been nicely done out with different seating areas and small dancefloor and booze is reasonably priced. It's probably not my sort of place to be honest but it was busy and the party was still going strong when we left so I definitely say give it a try! read more

I am familiar with quite a good few Revolution bars but I think this particular one has to be my favourite. It's one of the larger ones that I've seen and it's always packed out with people. Another great thing from a true Manchester girl point of view is that places in this area are much less pretentious than other London venues. It seems to attract a less painfully impressionable crowd, which feels nice and familiar. There are a good deal of Northeners there strangeley enough. The atmosphere's comfortable, always well heated on those cold days and the selection of food and drink is endless. read more
