This shop is an adorable vinyl place right on Elmwood. I stopped in to browse for nothing in particular and ended up grabbing 4 vinyls. They have a ton of used, new and seasonal stuff. Everything is organized by artist so if you are looking for something in particular you can hopefully find it. I could honestly spend hours browsing here - great repeat for customers! read more

Great shop for records! We found this shop by chance when we were walking around the area, and ended up buying a couple records here. This isn't a huge shop, but it's very well organized - by genre as well as alphabetically. Each album is wrapped and cased in a plastic bag, which makes everything a lot more neater. I will say, after about 10 minutes looking through the boxes of records, I was getting a little itchy because of all the dust. The price of the records vary depending on how old and used they are. The used albums can be as cheap as $3, whereas the newer, unopen records may be $40+. Some of the newer ones were a bit overpriced, so we ended up just buying older albums. The owner of the store was very friendly and welcoming and very knowledgable as well. I think this is a cool shop to look around, especially if you have a turntable. Wonderful record store. I love the look of their location on Hertel, love the feel of the store in general. Albums are sorted alphabetically and by genre, making things easy to find if they're there. The albums I've bought from here have all been in great condition, and they're typically at a very decent price, depending on the album and its current popularity. The staff is always helpful and accommodating, greeting you when you enter the store, and willing to help you if you're looking for something specific. So far I've only left Revolver with albums that I hadn't been looking for when I got there, but am more than glad to add to my collection. I really miss browsing through record stores during Covid. I don't feel comfortable going into stores to do so at this time but Revolver Records made my dreams come true when I realized I could shop online. The web store inventory was immense. Prices are right. I loved being able to shop local in the comfort of my home. Revolver has a gnarly collection of hard to find albums, new releases, and classics that just need to be experienced on vinyl. I ordered online and within a day or two, it came in the mail. Revolver Records was the sixth and final record store I stopped into when I was in Buffalo a few weeks ago. All things considered--pricing, selection, listening station availability, friendliness of the staff/owner, condition of the records--I'd have to say this is the very best of the 17 record stores I visited on my road trip across upstate New York. I ended up finding so many LPs here, Phil had to give me a box to carry them away instead of a bag. The most I paid was $15 (François Hardy and a Blackwell LP), but most LPs were in the $3 to $8 range. There was an incredible amount of disco in the Revolver bins; I gleaned a few real gems from that section, along with two LPs by Jay & the Americans, a real nice calypso record, the French release of the "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" soundtrack, and more. If you're in Buffalo and you're into rare and interesting music on vinyl at great prices and you don't stop in at Revolver Records to have a look, well then you deserve whatever you don't get. read more

Phil was able to pre-order a record I wanted, and he set it aside for me to pick up. I also found this awesome Doors live album. I would highly suggest coming here for all your vinyl desires. You will likely find that one rare record that has eluded you for a long time. The prompt and courteous customer service is next to none. A lot of people gave this place rave reviews but the two star description describes my feeling about this establishment best; "meh, I've experienced better." On the positive side, the inventory was well organized, if your looking for something specific, it is easy to find. The place was clean and spacious. Location of the place was fitting, right in a funky, artsy part of Buffalo. Bad part, records are pretty pricey. Some of these albums are around $20 to $30 bucks. Granted a lot of them are in good condition, but I didn't see any bargains to be had. Sorry Revolver, you're just not for me. read more

Just got into Vinly and Phil and his wife at Revolver have been my guiding lights. Fortunately for me, and unfortunately for my wallet, their store is right up the street from me, and I've been in 4 times already. They are super knowledgable, incredibly friendly, really willing to help and offer advice/opinions, and the prices are more than fair. The atmosphere is also perfect. A few different friends of mine recommended checking out Revolver Records to me and my only regret is not going to see Phil sooner! He has an amazing selection and everything is priced fairly and much lower than you'll see at most other record shops. While I was there I mentioned an album I really wanted that he didn't currently have. A few hours after I'd left I got a message from him saying that he'd found a copy of the album I mentioned and he would save it for me! (I'm sure this isn't a super common occurrence, but I was still super impressed!) I don't think I can say enough nice things about Phil, he is definitely my new first choice for finding records! read more

Oh my gosh. Records! Wow. I stopped in when David Bowie died because suddenly I became a fan. This place is super neat! This week Bruce Springsteen is playing in Buffalo! So excited! This review shall be called 'the pile on'... This store is helpful, well organized, friendly, and extremely well curated. There are other stores in town. There are none that offer a better experience across the board. As others have noted, the service and friendliness here is not notch and it comes across with genuineness and care. I walked out with two albums I would have never found on my own given how far they strayed from my normal hunt and pick nature... turns out they are now shiny gems in my collection... such good finds (btw, they are both George Clinton classics - so funky good!). Checked out this place based on a recommendation from a friend and I would highly recommend it. It is based out of the owner's garage, so you have to make an appointment before stopping by. But Phil is very accommodating, and will even take an appointment with only a few hours notice. Selection is very impressive...I was able to find some stuff I hand't seen in trips to Record Theatre, The Book Outlet, and Antique World. Prices are reasonable, especially for the mint stuff. I picked up copies of Pink Floyd's "Animals" and "Magical Mystery Tour" by the Beatles for about half the price I would have payed at a place like Record Theatre. He has a solid selection of $1 and $2 records too, but most of these were in only fair condition. He takes cards as well, so you may end up spending more than the cash you brought with you. Definitely check this place out if you're into vinyl - Phil is very knowledgeable, and more than willing to strike up a conversation. He posts new arrivals on Facebook, too, so you can check things out before stoping by. read more

Excellent new record store... Great selection of older titles in really nice shape with very very fair prices. Very impressed with the original Blue Note pressings. Revolver Records is one of the best record shops in WNY. If you are looking for a classic record in good shape at a great price, you'll dig this place. The used selection is extremely diverse (rock, blues, R&B, world, holiday, and most other genres) in addition to a growing new LP selection. In addition, records are very affordable and accurately graded. I've picked up a bunch of albums from the 70's and 80's that looked and played like new, as well as finding albums I would never have found anywhere else. In addition, there's a listening station in the back of the shop, so if you want to preview and album before you buy it, you can! Highly recommend to anyone who loves pawing through crates for A+ finds. read more
