Super great record store out in Buffalo. My family and I come here a lot for their album release parties or early list parties and we love it here. The store itself has such a great variety of both new and old vinyls, posters CDs and more. We love the little bar in the back, which has sodas that we can drink during the record release parties. The staff here is super friendly and approachable, which makes the store even better. this is one of my favorite record stores in the Buffalo area. I love how a whole lots of listening parties for different album releases or even early listening parties before albums are even out. It's a pretty good size record store with lots of old records used records in brand new releases. I found lots of cool records here that I would've never found anywhere else including little 7 inches and old Christmas ones. I love how it's really close by to a lot of other stuff in buffalo, which makes it really easily accessible when going to other places in Buffalo. Everyone here is really nice and the staff is always super helpful when you're looking for a specific record. Overall, a great record store. read more

Record lovers rejoice! Do you miss Record Theatre just as much as I do? Well, when you visit Hi-Fi Hits, you'll definitely feel some serious nostalgia. Obviously, this tiny suite in a Williamsville plaza isn't the behemoth that RT once was, but it's got a seriously familiar feel to it. The owner Joe worked for Record Theatre for over 25 years, so it's only natural that his new record store resembles the old local media giant. It had been a few weeks since opening when I stopped in. The interior is still anticipating a bit of work, as they're going to be serving beer here in addition to selling records, so the back of the store was obviously anticipating some rearranging. Toward the front of the store you'll find the music! The shelves of records resemble that of a Record Theatre setup (with the shelves & front desk being from Record Theatre itself!), sorted alphabetically with a mix of new and used vinyl. There were also a bunch of CD's, casettes, and books for sale. They also sell t-shirts and other music memorabilia (posters, funkos, etc.). Even after one visit I found a ton of records that I wanted to buy. (I had to limit myself though, because restraint.) I'm really looking forward to being able to buy inexpensive used vinyl again. I'm also looking forward to what this store has to offer for the future. It's now the closest record store to where I live, so it'll probably end up being my go-to spot! I was a big customer of Record Theatre for many years great vinyl records etc Hated when it closed. Now it seems hi fi hits felled its shoes. There is no real good place anymore even here in Atlanta I live now. Miss looking T all the LPs box sets. read more

This space has a ton of potential and once Covid restrictions are lifted a bit, I would love to see live music at this venue. The owner of the legendary Record Theatre opened up this place, and you will recognize their same price tags on new and used CDs DVDs,records and other music and nostalgia themed merchandise. There is even a small bar area in the back for the intent of hanging out. I stopped in for the third time yesterday and sadly I was the only customer but was still greeted warmly. Some of their prices can be steep, but I was able to find a previously used Salt n Pepa cd for $2.99 . Listening to this will bring me back to my teenage years! They also offer a fair price for trade ins, I have done this before when I was decluttering last year. Can't wait to see this place thrive in the (hopefully) near future! read more

So I need to take a step back and eat my words. It's been several months since my last visit and I must say that this time I was very impressed. I spent almost $300 on albums that I've been looking for. The selection of used and new has significantly improved and so has the quality. I know that it is hard to get up and running as a small business and with vinyl record sales still at an all time high; this shop has climb to the top in a world of ever growing competition. The selection is vast and expanding. I hope that they can add a "new" section of classical and break out the genres slightly better. I will be back and I have eaten my words. What a cool place. I'm from here originally but moved away and read about this place. I was a huge record theatre fan and this place want far from where I was staying so I had to check it out. Memories as soon as I walked in and deals galore. I mainly went for albums and there was no shortage. I found so many that I grew up with that were dirt cheap. There a mode section of albums under $3.00 so I had a field day. I even lucked out and got 3 for $1.00 so your money will go far here. Nice number of cassettes and cds under $10 so you have to come in. Can't wait to come back and i see that they ship for cheap . It was a Nice welcome home and the highlight of my trip. This is the place to go if you're looking for new vinyl. While they do carry used records, it's the new stuff that stands out. The staff is very knowledgeable about music, or are willing to look things up and help you out. I purchased a live Neil Young compilation I had never seen before. The guy was able to tell me all the background information and was happy to chat a bit about how they select merchandise for sales. I am a little shocked on sticker price for new albums but it is what it is I suppose. Naturally the used items are cheaper but nothing beats a new album. They also carry used cd's and cassettes as well as some cool posters, lunch boxes, clothing and other music related items. Thanks for keeping vinyl alive and available. read more

I've been working on building up my vinyl collection since I got my first turntable a year and a half ago, and I'm so grateful this shop popped up in the area. Unlike a lot of local record shops, Hi-Fi hits has a wonderful mix of new and used vinyl, all very notable artists. There is no way a person could walk in without finding an album they enjoy. Everything is very fairly priced, I visited tonight and was actually able to get 4 used records for $26 (The Rolling Stones, Stevie Nicks, Elton John, and Matthew Wilder, for those who might've been curious). Every time I come I leave with something I love or have been searching for. They also have posters, books, CDs, and cute lil merchandise items that are affordable as well! You can even grab a beer while you're there. This has easily become my favorite record shop in the Buffalo area. Folks, please get out there and do your part to support it! read more

I recently heard that the manager from Record Theater opened up his own record store, so of course I had to go Christmas shopping here! First impression is this place is so cool I will definitely become a regular! You can even buy a beer as you browse around, this is my kind of place! Anything from new and old vinyl, to memorabilia collectibles, t-shirts, posters, cds, DVD's, etc. now it's not as big of a place as Record Theater was but those are huge shoes to fill! The owners are alumni of The Record Store that had 3 locations in the Buffalo area. The current location used to be one of those outlets. Great to see some familiar faces from record theater here now running Hi-Fi Hits. Nice size collection of new & used vinyl. Brought some of my own in and the trade in value was more than fair. Also, they have a bar in the back, so you can sip on a cold brew while you shop. Also, a quality in house sound system played some choice tunes while I was browsing. Awesome record store in the heart of Williamsville. Joe and his team are fantastic and I love going here. While most of the music in store is on vinyl, they've got a nice selection of cd's and used cassettes as well. I love Hi-Fi Hits in Buffalo, NY. I use to live in Amherst, NY years ago and I am very familiar with Williamsville. I now have been living in Simi Valley, CA for about twenty years now and miss the people of Buffalo. Anyway I have ordered vinyl records in the past from Hi-Fi Hits and extremely satisfied with their collection of used vinyl along with new selections as well. I was overwhelmed getting started with vinyl. I had a ton of questions about setting up a turntable at home. Joe was really helpful. He gave me a ton of info to get started with, had an Audio Technica turntable in stock that would work perfectly with my speakers at home, and he even walked me through setting it up. He told me all about record day, common problems to look out for with record players, and the history of the building. I was able to set up the turntable perfectly at home with his instructions. I bought a few records. There was a nice eclectic assortment of genres, old and new. Joe was excited about upcoming live music on Thursdays. He has a nice bar setup in the back of the store and a raised platform for performers. I am looking forward to seeing some live acts. It's great to be shopping for media once again after all these years and Hi-Fi hits is the perfect setting to talk music with other fans, even for total beginners. read more
