I don't normally review grocery stores, but this Edeka deserves a review as hands-down the nicest…read moregrocery store I've been to in Germany. I missed spacious and aesthetically pleasing grocery stores with huge selections and fresh food, such as Wegman's or Whole Foods. This award-winning Edeka is clean and beautiful, with large bakeries, delis, cafés, a sushi area, and a substantial international food section as well. They also have a parking garage and a relatively large section for housewares and toiletries, which I also appreciate. Fantastic location.

It is excellent place to make some new food findings. I would not perhaps use this place as my regular, every day food shop, but it is worth to visit and see what you can find perhaps. The coffee-shop inside the shop has a good collection of coffees, like Kobi Luwak, Jamaica Blue Mountain and so on.

The selection is incredible, the Service is out of this world and everything is absolutely fresh and delicious. I will write a separate review for the wonderful restaurant and tasting table that they have downstairs but as far as bakery deli, fresh fish, meat, selection, and desserts that this place has his simply out of this world. You're missing out if you don't stop here for a few things while visiting Düsseldorf and if you are a local definitely, this is a place to be.

If you're out for shopping at a larger supermarket in Moers, your way will probably lead you to…read morethis Real store. It is - to my knowledge - the largest supermarket in the city; however it is definitely not the most beautiful. So let's start with some positives: relatively speaking, the store has a large selection of reasonably priced products, including sporting goods, clothing, and consumer electronics - products you would not necessarily expect at a supermarket (however, as with all Real stores, quality brand products are few and far between). There are enough sales associates working the aisles; they are not always overly friendly, but usually helpful. Plus, this specific Real has an international food selection, with dedicated US, Mexican, and Asian producs. Also, even as a non-connaisseur, I find the wine selection large and well-organized. Considering the whole store, it is great that the aisles are not too narrow and that checking out is usually fast. Credit cards are accepted, a rarity among German supermarkets. Finally, Real's private parking lot has ample spaces, even on busy days. The negatives are minor, in my view. Located in a poorer part of town, this store attracts the not-so-affluent crowd, which may not appeal to everyone. The building's exterior is so grey and ugly you could mistake it for an old factory. Aside from these downsides, this Real is a good option to shop for groceries and everyday non-food items.
