Not surprising really, considering,…read morethis county has over 4000 different beers and, almost 1/3rd or more comes from Bavaria, a state with a 500 year old purity law (that is artisanal enough) ;-) This is a tough business in a country with great beer however, nice to have this shop in my neighbourhood. This shop has many craft beers from Germany and other countries like Belgium, USA, UK and other places in Europe. This makes it an attractive shop as many of these beers are not generally available in the Getränkemarkt. The staff here are very friendly and helpful and know a lot about the beers they have. This is a relatively new shop and I am sure they will expand their selection as time goes on. The choice of international beers is something I quite like as, it gives you an opportunity to try new ones and buy ones you have liked in the past. A place worth a visit for a browse or for buying a selection of beers to try.

As I had the case and didn't want to carry lots of full bottles of beer, I drove. Well, the one and only problem I see with Biervana is the incredibly difficult parking situation in the area. If you're on foot, bike, etc. and aren't planning to carry 5 liters of beer plus a wooden crate, then it's got to be a lot easier to visit them. Once in the shop, it's like....well, Biervana. Beer from around the world, organized according to type. The staff knows their beer quite well. You can ask for recommendations based on what you like or just grab what you want by choosing from the gazillion (maybe slightly exaggerated) pretty labels. If I lived in Munich, I'd be in this shop all too often. Even better, the cost of beer in Germany is so low compared to Switzerland that I bought quite a bit of beer and the bottle deposit money covered almost half the cost of the beer.

The gentleman working there when we visited was incredibly helpful. He rightly steered me away from the Belgian beers I can get back in the states. I told him what I like, and he gave us some amazing options. He opened one right there from the fridge for me to drink. It's novel for me that you can just drink on the streets. He even found a helles that I love, though I don't normally go for that style. Better yet , the prices are really reasonable . we walked away with seven bottles for under €20. We will be back today to get gifts and some extra bottles to sample throughout the day as we walk the streets of Munich.

My wife and I were walking back from breakfast one day and we happened to stumble across this shop…read more The lady working (i believe her name was Kierstyn) was beyond amazing and walked us around the store and showed us her personal favorite beers. Being from america we haven't heard of most of these beers so omit was awesome having her help. The prices were crazy cheap... we walked away with 4 bottles for a total of $9. If this was in the states it would have been $30+. Next time we're in munich we will be stopping in again

Good choice of drinks and will be back again. 6 bottles of Mineral water (1l) 6 bottles of Apfelschorle and a 5 liter of windshield washer fluid for €13....bargain I say :-)

A largely organic wine shop that recently opened....nice selection and reasonable prices :-) I…read morehappened to see this place as we were walking past and decided to drop in. Although the shop was closed the owner was inside and welcomed us in. Whilst his English was weak we were able to speak ok and used a bit of German and English to communicate. They have a lot of Bio / Organic wine from around Europe and their selection of German wine is also good. The owner is quite passionate about German wine and that is nice to see. He allowed us to try some wine and also introduced me to some unusual aperitifs from France and Germany. He is just getting everything organized for the shop at the moment and only been open a short while. His prices are reasonable and for under €15 you can get a decent selection of white and red wines. I ended up going back and buying some wines and will definitely be back. It's very close to where we live and I really like the personal service and the knowledge of the shop owner who is also a collector for the last 30 years.

They offer some imports as well, mostly ubiquitous (in the states) stuff like Guinness, Pilsner Urquell and Corona. I was hoping they'd have a selection of some of the better american craft, but no dice. Prices were really low, all singles I saw were under 1€, including 500ml bottles. Not sure if that was specific to this chain, or par for the course in Bavaria. Unfortunately they don't have Crew Republic, so the search continues.

This REWE is conveniently located next to our hotel. It is also located in the same building as an…read moreAsia Center (groceries), dm, and Lidl- one stop shop. It opens early at 7am, so we were able to grab a few things in the morning.
