When the NY doctor called to request the prescription, he was equally nasty to him., stating he would not accept a NY MD's prescription. While trying to support local business, we ended up going to CVS. Both CVS stores in town and the Walgreens were more than happy to fill it. We chose CVS as they had it in stock. I do NOT recommend Lynch pharmacy. Note: the woman who answered the phone was lovely. That was the one saving grace. I hope he is kinder to her than he was to our doctor and me.

I…read moremoved to ME from MA a few months ago and switched my services after polling a local mom's FB group as to what was a great hospital and midwives service. The locals equally recommended York, Southern Maine, and Mercy Hospital as all good choices - so I chose York Hospital OB because of it's proximity to my family in MA. I've been to both the Wells and York offices and because I only needed 6 visits they made sure to rotate me through all the doctors, who have all been very knowledgeable and supportive and really seem to listen to my concerns. For one, I needed to continue a series of iron infusions ASAP and was having trouble getting my records transferred between hematology offices, once I explained this, the OB committed to calling my previous hematologist directly and had me referred within perhaps 48 hours to begin infusions based on her doctor-to-doctor communication. This was a huge stress off my plate. All of the midwives have likewise been pleasant and reassuring and the receptionists have all been very friendly and helpful. I also must comment on the associated hospital and maternity center. It is absolutely gorgeous. I wasn't sure what to expect as I'm used to a very large institutional feel (this is my 5th child) and the hospital is clearly smaller than I m used to. But open entering (main entrance) it was a very calming environment with beautiful wall murals and a cozy waiting area with a big fish tank and even a LL Bean-esque wooden play structure (with a pretend dock, so cute) that I my 3 yo daughter thought was awesome. We then toured the delivery area where I guess they've been renovating and the waiting room is AWESOME - depending on the time of labor, we may (eek) have to have all our kids come with us while we wait for family to arrive. After seeing the waiting I actually have no concerns about bringing all our kids there to hang out if needed - there is plenty of room and again, a cozy feeling... not cold or 'institutional' at all. I could see them claiming just a corner of the room with books, games, stuffed animals, and snacks and being just fine for a few hours. I hope that other locals are able to experience the same as I have and that this place gets the credit it deserves!

I've always believed in supporting local businesses, and was proud to call SS home. This ended tonight. A couple weeks ago I purchased a replacement atomizer for my Cloud Pen. The manufacturer was running a sale at half price, but I again believe in keeping my business local. I paid the $10 for the atomizer, and even did some card magic for the employee's here. I went home and popped in the new atomizer, only to find it didn't work. No big deal, I said to myself. I'll just head down there when I can and get a replacement. Well, tonight was the night and I went in there fully expecting them to replace the broken atomizer they sold me. The very condescending worker told me they don't give refunds. I said I didn't want a refund, I just wanted a replacement. He said, "yeah, this is normal with a lot of the vape stuff" and then pointed to the sign stating "all sales are final". I couldn't believe my ears. I literally said to him, "ok, so you guys sold me something that doesn't work, and I'm here pleasantly asking for one that does work, and you're telling me you aren't going to replace this? You realize that after I leave here you guys are losing a weekly customer, right? For good, I'll loterally never step foot in the building again?" He says, "yeah I totally understand man, sorry about that. I can sell you another one if you want (all smiles. As if he enjoyed this). And then I turn around and exit this shop for the last time. I understand why there's a need to make all sales final, given the nature of the product, but in this case I'm showing a completely unused $10 atomizer, that I can literally show not working. In addition, it's not like I'm a random customer who hasn't spent thousands in that store. I helped the owner of this business, Sue, and her brother with snowboarding equipment many years ago. If she had come back with an unused binding that she couldn't use because it was broken, what do you think I would've done? She would've left with working equipment. Guys, take your business elsewhere. It should be illegal to sell broken merchandise. There are other shops opening up nearly every month. The Kittery store is very well organized and spacious. A large selection of Waterford crystal with smaller displays of Royal Doulton, and Wedgwood china were on the floor. Though, in years past I have seen a larger selection of patterns for Wedgwood china along with the signature blue Jasperware products: neither were noticed at the store. The staff person was attentive and knowledgeable. For example, she stated though much of the crystal manufactruring is now outsourced to other countries some products are still made in Ireland and identified with a black ribbon (something which I did not know).

They prepare sushi and other Asian delights on site, and have a large selection of wines and beers. Hampton Natural Foods is a lot like Trader Joe's, but a little bit more higher end, and pricier. The wine section is very impressive, as is the cheese section. The place is always packed when I go there, so the lines can be a bit daunting. You can find a lot of unique brands that you won't see elsewhere, but be prepared to pay premium for them. Staff is friendly, and always ready to answer questions. I think the check-out people know that their lines tend to go slowly, and they're always gracious about thanking customers for coming (even if they have a small purchase). I've had no complaints about Hampton Natural Foods. Then again, I visit every few months. I think if this were my main place to shop and get all of my essentials that I'd be broke in no time. Buy in moderation and enjoy a great store like this- wish there were more of them!
