Like it was said in a recent TV commercial, it's hard to get the right "timpla" or marinade mix for barbecue. Some would make it too bland, others too salty. But I think Reyes Barbecue got the perfect marinade on point.
Their barbecue has the right balance of salty and smoky, with just a hint of sweet in their bite sized meat on a stick. It's juicy and tender too. The barbecue is fine on its own, but pair it with the tasty Java rice, the wonderful peanut sauce (I think they even sell a bottle of this sweet, nutty thing) and atsara makes it the perfect thing to have for a casual lunch.
I like that it's a no-frills kind of place. It doesn't need any presentation and skips all the pleasantries; you just order, you sit and you're served good food. Their menu lineup isn't that big either, just a few grilled meats and seafood. But you know that whatever they're grilling will definitely be satisfying. read more
