It's really beautiful but at mile 0.8 there is a hair pin turn that made my ass pucker and it's a SINGLE LANE going up 30 degrees. If your in an RV this is what nightmares of made of!! Hahaha but seriously worth it. Just pray no one is going the opposite directions because backing down would make me cry. I was in a small 5th wheel and our spot 4 was too small even though it says it's for RV's. Gets really hot during the summer months, around 106 when we were there. Lots of mosquitos and tiny flies that follow you and go up your nose and mouth like a big bug cloud. We wore a bug net. read more

Great campground! Stayed at site 20 near the creek. Had a big oak tree with plenty of shade. Creek was flowing and so nice to fall asleep too. Jade the camp host was amazing! Very friendly and helpful. Checked on everyone a few times through out the stay. Firewood is for sale. Thankfully there wasn't a fire ban. In my opinion best sites are 18-20. We will definitely go again! No water so you have to bring your own. read more

The reason we suffered the disgusting toilets and unattended garbage situation was the fact that we could spend about $40 a year in order to get our CA Adventure passes and stay at Reyes Creek for 10 days in a row, or so. Nowadays, things have changed.... Get ready to shell out some coin. I'll miss Tony and Ale (@ the Reyes Creek Bar and Grill), who once let me stay in their backyard when I drove out during the government shutdown only to find a closed campground. I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon, as spending $20/night can afford me a spot at the Malibu Campground. Just makes me think... "Screw driving three hours to go here, when I can spend the same amount of money to spend the night in a well-groomed, clean, beautiful campground." My heart breaks. This was my little secret. Now, the government (the Gumby-mint) just wants to suck money outta me. I'm a cook... Dude... I get paid $15/hour. I don't have cash for this. We really enjoyed our stay and the host, Jade is truly a free-spirited, remarkable host. However, please be aware, as my 12 year old son was bit by a tick that resulted in a very rare tick-borne illness, Rickettsia rickettsii bacteria, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSF) that ended him up in the hospital. * Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF) is a bacterial disease spread through the bite of an infected tick. Most people who get sick with RMSF will have a fever, headache, and rash. RMSF can be deadly if not treated early with the right antibiotic. * Severe cases can result in kidney failure and death. * In the United States, most cases happen in the southeastern and south-central United States. This is my all-time favorite place to camp! It's also a doggie paradise; be prepared for local dogs to occasionally wander up and say hi! The campsite is as remote as you can get for car camping. It's like 20 miles away from anything...except for the bar & grille (and cluster of cabins) about 1/4 mile from the camp's entrance! You can get ice there, as well as great food and drink (and, hopefully, a head's up if a wildfire breaks out in the area!). The bar generally caters to bikers and other people who would prefer to party 20 miles away from civilization...but I grew up around bikers, so I don't have any kind of problem with this. They were all super nice, and half of the people there had dogs to greet mine. I camped there over Halloween, and while there was a bash going on at the bar, we couldn't hear anything at all at our campsite, other than the creek. Site 17 is my favorite; it's far back, yet close to a toilet, and close to the creek. There is a site closer to the creek, but this site seems bigger...and I've had bobcats come through my site when camping by other creeks, so I prefer the extra space, haha. I hope to camp here at least once a year! read more

I discovered this place in February 2010 during a weekend when the federal government was shut down. I had decided to go camping by myself because my girlfriend was out of town with her friends and I had nothing to do. So I packed up my jeep went to a gas station I knew sold forest adventure passes and headed off into the mountains with no destination in mind, just looking for a place cool enough to camp at. It was 10 o'clock at night when I headed up Highway 33 passed Ojai beyond Reyes pass, coming back down the mountain when I eventually hit the intersection with Lockwood Valley Road, my headlights shone on a sign that pointed to the right into the darkness that said: "Reyes creek bar and grill". Seeing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN SIGHT AROUND ME IN THE DARK, I ventured to take a peek at what this place was. A couple miles down I saw another sign that pointed to the right again leading me into a forest road where I also saw a post that indicated that there was a campground there and still no lights in sight. I took that road and ended up face to face with a river that was full of water (unlike what the river bed normally looks like there) I forded the river and was actually getting water into the cab of the Jeep, came across the other side went up a hill back down a hill saw in the darkness to my left an old wooden church (an original building from the 1880-90s!), and mining equipment to my right, and all of a sudden I saw a place in front of me bumping with LIVE MUSIC packed with people, trucks and Bikes!!!!!! Unbelievable! They all must have stuck there from the river!?!? Not knowing what the place was like and seeing a crowd I was unfamiliar with, I entered the campground stayed the night and fell in love. Used to go about twice a year. To me this place was as close to the iconic true American freedom I could find anywhere! This place used to be AWESOME until a private company was given authority to administer the campground and hike the fee from $5 per day to $20 per night. Ok the amenities such as the bathrooms and water were a little bit on the low brow end... BUT THATS CAMPING!!!!! That's what camping's all about!!!! We would bring friends here almost twice a year and show them how it was done AND they had a bar and grill nearby! We could rough it AND have some creature comforts IT WAS HEAVEN! In my case I would get a YEAR pass for $35-$40 (I don't remember) and I could and would go as often as I liked. But now, one has to pay $40 to camp for a weekend, in a place where $40 is NOT worth it because, for that price, one could go somewhere spectacular to camp at. The appeal of Scheideck wasn't its location or amenities. It was the fact that it was practically free and great BECAUSE of that. I would not pay $40 for a weekend when I could go to Yosemite, or Big Sur for the same price. These are our public lands! And they're being privatized! And no one cares. I've stopped going in protest of the fee and now "Camp Scheideck" as we commonly referred to it is a memory of a time past. 2011 - $35 (or $40) per YEAR 2018 - $20 per NIGHT. The best camping experience in recent memory. Jade and Joe, the camp hosts, are about as thoughtful and kind as it gets. (I showed up a little unprepared, and Jade selflessly made sure I didn't have to make a 60-mile round trip drive to save my overnight stay!) Jessie, who works at the bar and restaurant 1/4 mile down from the main campsite loop, also was gracious and funny, as was the collection of locals and regulars I met there. And it's great to have a restaurant near the campsites, but ... Don't get the impression that this place doesn't feel remote; it does, and it is. The area that the campground occupies is beautiful, with a creek running alongside many of the individual sites. The tables and fire pits are in good repair, and the bathrooms were as spotless as vault toilets can get. (I saw another reviewer's negative comments about the toilets, and all I can say is that any campground toilet is only as good as the last person who used it. Again, they were perfect when I visited.) Would I go back? I've already made the reservation for the end of October. Can't wait to take my family to see the best campground I've found so far. **Note: I'm not kidding about the remoteness of the location--don't let the fact that there is a bar/restaurant fool you. You will be ~45 minutes to an hour away from any meaningful medical care and supplies. Bring basic first aid, water (no potable on site), and everything else you think you might need. The campground is older, and the pads aren't in great shape. But it's camping so ok. Only two sites would hold our 20 ft trailer so if you have a long rig, not a good choice. Best for car camping with tents, or small pop-up. Not a real lot to do nearby, but a few hikes into the Sespe wilderness are ok. The hike up to Reyes Peak is pretty easy, and lots of colors in the fall. The actual creek was just a trickle in October of 2021 due to the drought. Other reviews mentioned the Bar/grill just outside the campground but that's boarded up and abandoned. To sum it up, if you want a place to actually just camp, and your main activity was to hang out with friends, and aren't looking for other nearby things to do, I guess it would be a so-so choice for a night or two. Some sites have shade, but for most don't. As a base camp for other adventures I'd pass on this one. Views aren't really very good from the camp itself, you'll need to hike out to get sense of the size of the Sespe Wilderness. Each campsite is very close to your neighbors. Cell service, none without leaving the camp. $20 per night. No fires or BBQ because CA is burning down Mid October weather got down to 27 degrees, daytime low 70s. Considering how close you are to cities, the dark sky was pretty good for star trail pics, and star gazing. A better option would be Rose Valley campground and it's not that far away. read more

This is a beautiful campground with a beautiful creek running through it. The camp host, Jade, is also lovely. We chose this campground based on reviews that it offered privacy but I do want to make it clear here that camp spots are VERY close to one another. Multiple reviews mentioned that sites 17 and 18 offered the most privacy but the spots are literally on top of one another. We chose camp site 17 and the campers in spot 18 pulled up around 11 at night and their parking spot was literally 20 feet from our tent and I could hear their every word as they unpacked their car. Beautiful camping spot, beautiful atmosphere but know that if you camp here, you will literally be on top of your neighbors and there is zero privacy. If you want more isolation, may be worth booking two spots that are next to one another as this campground is really beautiful! read more

Jade, the camp host was AMAZING. Someone canceled the same day of my reservation and she offered me site 19 which was fully shaded and backed up to the creek so it was great for my dog and I. Quiet, serene walks alongside the creek and got to take naps in the shade while listening to the creek. Felt very safe there and everyone was respectful of quiet time. Spent two nights there for some much needed respite. Will definitely come again. Only 100 miles for beautiful scenery and peace and quiet. There are a few local dogs that wonder the grounds that are very sweet and my kids loved seeing them.. the hiking trail that starts in camp is also amazing getting to walk along the creek the whole time. 20 bucks a night per camp site. Has a nice hiking trail. A variety of camp sites to choose from. Just a perfect place to get away from the city. A major plus is the bar at the entrance. The staff is really chill. Its under new management but i lucked out and met the old and new staff. All seem to be cool people. Downside is no running water so just be prepared with a solar shower and I'd recommend to meal prep ahead of time to avoid the clean up. The vault toilet is an evil place you never want to visit but just a tip take some kind of spray to mask the scent and something to cover your nose. Stayed here 6/17/2016 - 6/19/2016 at Site 17. Sorry for the long review, I just hope it helps! THE DRIVE - Come up the 5 Freeway from Orange County was not bad. It was pretty much a straight shot up the 5 to Frazier Mountain Park Road exit, then from there to the site was just under an hour. The road at night was very dark and there are dips and turns I didn't see so be careful! The drive home South on the 33 (Maricopa Hwy) was just about an hour. Easy scenic drive through both routes. THE SITES - There are 30 sites, although it looked like a lot less. There are a fair amount of sites that were shaded but some that were right out in the open. Being that it is summer, the sites with no shaded were are real killer. The first few sites right as you enter the campground were great as they had larger sites with lost of shade (practically the whole site was covered in shade). We arrived at 11PM on Friday night and all the good sites with shade were all taken up leaving about 3 sites open but there was some that opened up on Saturday morning. There were sites that had hills or uneven terrain, making it hard to setup tents but for the most part a lot of the sites were flatter. Our site: 17 was most shaded but the site was a little broken up. There are two flatter areas for 2 tents (7-8 person tent and 4 person tent). This area was a little separated by some trees from the picnic table and fire ring. THE ATMOSPHERE - There are a good amount of bugs! Perhaps this is because of the summer but there were flies and gnats flying around us constantly. If you napped out in the open you'd have to swat them away or the'd just land on you. Perhaps I'm ok with bugs but there was a point where it was quite annoying and irritating. If you do go during the summer I would HIGHLY suggest you bring a tent with netting if you don't want to just sit in your tent to avoid the bugs. The whole campground was dog friendly, a few sites had dogs and everyone was very nice, no issues with other campers. Trails were dog friendly as well. There was one site that played loud music for most of the day. I don't mind music at all but when it's played at 7AM when most of the campground is still asleep was a little inconsiderate. They played it pretty loud where we were on the opposite side of the site and could hear it pretty loudly. I'm all for having a great time but please be considerate! THE BATHROOMS - These were hit or miss but overall not that great. I've personally seen worse but the bathrooms were either smelly or not too bad. Most had dead or alive spiders that made homes in the bathrooms and the way the bathrooms were setup you could usually see the bottom of the pit and it was not pleasant. The only bathroom that had running water was the one located outside the Bar, which was for the Bar patrons. We made due, even my 13 yr old sister who went camping for the first time was able to tough it out. RECREATION - The creek was pretty nice even though it was pretty low. You could hear the flow of the creek from mostly anywhere in the campsite. There was some hiking that was pretty easy and nice. We hiked along the creek and got to mini waterfall which was neat! There is a longer trail which we didn't end up going on but if I recall correctly it's about 17 miles long. All in all it was a fun trip and the ~4000ft elevation helped the site to not be too hot. We stayed during the week from 08/08 - 08/10/2018. We made online reservations which was easy to use and we got to reserve the site we wanted. Pros: The creek - the kids practically lived there the entire time The bar - we didn't try it but the people working there are super nice and very helpful. Cons: No Fire - There was a no fire restrictions in effect (summer months) wish someone would have told us prior before so we didn't have to lug the fire or plan the food better. Imagine grilling steaks on a propane stove. Bugs - That's a given for camping but, there were tons of large black and red ants, in addition to aggressive wasps Camp Staff - For 3 days not one time did we see a camp host, and we were looking. We had questions on extending stays, fire restrictions and had no one to talk to. Tips -Sties costs $50 for 2 nights plus vehicle. -Bring plenty of water -Bring portable toilet -No adventure pass needed -Confirm fire restrictions before arrival -Sites 19 and 20 are 100% full shade -Sites 18 and 17 are mostly shade and most seclusion read more

Campsite has white supremacist who blast their racist music so avoid! The site itself is fine, remote and decent stargazing open skies and conveniently and hour outside Ojai . Bathrooms are very dirty, far worse than other campsites and state parks. But it's next to a biker bar. We heard white supremicist punk music coming from that direction, so it's unclear is the white supremacists were camping next to the bar, OR if the music was coming from the biker bar. If you do go , loop 2 site 15 and 17 are best sites -- shaded, quiet and at the end of the loop, but we had booked loop 1 site 1 which was closer to the biker bar and racist music. The rest of the campers (80%) were Latino so as Asians we were glad to not be the only people of color. We later just set up tents next to our (white) friends at loop 2 site 17 and very nice Latina lesbians and felt much safer. Never have I felt the presence of white supremacy in California like this, as a native Angelino. Avoid this campground. read more

What an awesome little getaway!! Jade the camp host was so awesome and friendly. Site 19 is the place to be. There are trails that begin right at the campground. The toilets...well..they're toilets. Solid campground with standard amenities. Just a heads up that Site 17 (in Loop 2) is very sloped. There are flat spaces for smaller (1-2 person) tents but not for anything larger. Site 17 is very shady which is great for a summer camping. All in all, a good campground and good site as long as you know those two elements going in. read more

was there in June and it was still cold! i really liked it and the staff is friendly. if you get there early enough they might let you chose a spot other than the one you reserved. only downside is that there's no running water. no showers or anything to wash dishes or your hands. bring plenty of water! also cell service is terrible but if you hike up a certain mountain you might be able to dial out. place is beautiful! read more

20 dollars for a night and that includes one car, 10 a night for extra cars. 10 for day use and 10 for firewood. Camp host have a couple days off during the week as everyone should get days off. Leave no trace and have fun! Respect the campground and your neighbors! read more

Camp Reyes, aka Camp Shiedeck was really nice. We got the best spots, 20 and 22 where the shade lasted all day. The creek was a little low, but enough for us to splash in, keep our beers cold and sit our chairs in. Don't forget to visit the restaurant/bar. They are friendly, have great food, sell ice and give the kids free ice cream. The toilets tend to be dirty and stinky so we brought our own with a shower. The camp was a little loud on the weekend so bring your ear plugs to sleep. The kids loved the short hike to the little waterfall. Dog's are welcomed and the price is right. This place is now a family favorite. Show up on before the weekend to get a good spot and enjoy!!!! 4 stars for the shady spot, creek and restaurant-not the toilets and lack of showers. read more

The difference between a summer, holiday weekend and a chilly, fall weekend was like night and day. We decided to give Reyes Creek another try at the end of November. While it was quite cold, it was also gorgeous. The leaves were many shades of red, orange, and yellow, and we saw patches of snow driving up. Little families of quail ran all over the park (mmmm, quail....). It was so peaceful. The only people camping were those with fancy RVs- and us. In a tent. I underestimated the cold and so yes, I damn near froze to death. But I still had a great time! Now that I am better equipped with a cold-weather sleeping bag and thermals, we will definitely be going back! read more

Our family loved our stay at Reyes Creek. The individual sites, like anywhere, are hit and miss so i'd advise doing your research but the campground was beautiful...green, shady and lush and they do have some more private, well-shaded sites right on the creek. Our 9 year old loved spending the day in the creek and there's a kid friendly, short, hiking trail with a mini waterfall and lots of shade that was great. There was ZERO internet so it was a fantastic way to unplug if that's what you're looking for. The fees are in line with other national forests and public campgrounds so i'm not sure why some reviewers are balking at the cost ..I thought it was well worth the price of admission. The bathrooms are fairly awful but again, on par with other national forests and public campgrounds...plan accordingly. The camp host, Jade, was incredibly helpful and friendly. Her smiling face was the first thing we saw upon arrival. She looks at the available camps and steers you toward a site upgrade if one is available. She pointed us toward a shady, perfect gem of a site which was AMAZING. We met several campers while there who all had the same Jade-tastic experience. She goes out of her way to help campers, making rounds all day to be sure they have what they need in terms of firewood, are all settled in, etc. Whatever they're paying her to host, she deserves a serious raise because she really makes this campground a welcoming oasis in the forest. We will be back here for sure bearing a hostess gift. read more

Just got back from Camping at Reyes Creek CG for the first time. My family and I reserved 22, 23, & 24 that were fairly close to each other. The sites were a decent size, the smallest lot was 22 which I managed to fit a tent that sleeps 8-10 people an that's about it. We spent most of our time on lots 23/24 as they were right next to each other. Although 22 is right next to the creek and had great access for our kids. The creek was awesome! The kids had a great time. WARNING: THE TRAIL THAT I AM ABOUT TO DISCUSS HAS BEEN WASHED OUT BY THE RAIN. THE TRAIL IS FULL OF BOULDERS, KNOCKED OVER TREES AND DEBRIS. TAKE SMALL CHILDREN AT YOUR OWN RISK. If you hike up the creek in 1 mile you hit an abandoned campsite, its kind of eerie and really neat as you don't really know what happened to the camper (and I dare not ask) there is an old pitched tent and some clothes...on the plus side we didn't see a body so yay!. Keep hiking another mile past the abandoned campsite and you hit a waterfall! Water snakes included Our family had a great time we will definitely go again. The host was amazing she was so friendly and welcoming and always making sure you have everything you need. Do make sure you take everything the closest store is 40 minutes away! (FLYING J) There is a Bar and grill at the entrance of the campground that only sells cooked food and ice. NEGATIVES: The bathrooms are awful!! There isn't running water so its basically a port o potty that's infested with flies. There are NO showers, but its okay we took our own Mosquitos lots and lots of mosquitos. Legend is if you smack one it will split off in to 6 more Mosquitos. I can confirm! read more

Amazing campground. This is what I imagined a camp ground tolook like, sites along the creek and plenty of places to hike. Everyone dreams of it. The perfect camp, along the creek. Maybe a waterfall or two, a shady hammock spot & plenty of trees, a flat tent spot, maybe a view. A big, sturdy, rock fire ring. I found this while searching for a description of the surrounding old town: "***About Camp Scheideck Since 1891, Camp Scheideck has been a remote retreat, where people from Los Angeles and Ventura County and beyond have gathered to enjoy the extraordinary beauty of Los Padres National Forest. An enclave of about 35 cabins and a wonderful old Lodge open on weekends and holidays, the camp is nestled in a green valley along the banks of Reyes Creek, a trout-stocked, year-round mountain stream, and looks up on Pine Mountain. It's warm in the summer (perfect wading weather) and cool in the winter (perfect curl up by the wood burning stove weather), and sometimes even gets a dusting of snow! Manzanitas, pines, sycamores, and cottonwoods mix with a beautiful array of wild flowers and wildlife. There is a group picnic area, and the owners of the Camp (and land lease holders), Ozzie and Rhonda Osborn, have added a delightful little Western "town" in the common area; complete with gold mine, saloon, bank, jail, chapel, and even "Boot Hill," a little make believe cemetery. Stayed there this past weekend, and I'd definitely return! We were camp sites 17 & 18, and they were private and had probably the most shade of all the camp sites there. The only negative about that site was the trail to the water-fall (not huge at this time of year, but still there!) literally went through our camp sites. The camp host was lovely as well! Fire wood & ice are easily accessible via the camp host and bar. The bar is a lot of fun - Jerry was so nice! Make sure to leave a dollar bill with your name on it. Only a few negatives: People kept using the creek & waterfall as a SHOWER. We'd see throngs of people with shower bags going back there and were in utter disgust. There was a family at a site near us that had a generator - yes, generator - running way past quiet times (shut off nearly midnight Friday), and the camp host never went and did anything about it - Pit toilets weren't as deep as they should've been and were poorly maintained. Yes, it's camping. Which is why majority of the time we opted for the bushes instead of the bathroom, which says a lot. read more

I hadn't been there since I was a teenager, always loved going there. Decided to take my Grandson and we had a great time. The park host Jade was great we drove in with no reservation all that was left was what she called desert spots, "no shade" then I told her we where only staying one night she said she had a great site we could use for the night it wasn't reserved unit the following night. The site was almost fully shaded and right on the creek, was at the back of the campground too so not allot of traffic look forward to going again. My husband and I chose Reyes Creek for our first family camping trip. As a kid, I used to go camping every summer, all summer long, with my family, so I know good camping when I see it. Reyes Creek was wonderful! Our 9 year old son had such a good time playing in the creek and going on hikes, and he normally hates being without technology for more than a few hours. The camp ground was quiet and beautiful. There were other camper, of course, but they were far enough away that you could enjoy them from a distance but not be bothered by them either. The bathrooms a re a little to be desired, but they are camp bathrooms without running water, so I was expecting it. We found the best shady little spot, near the facilities, but close to the creek. We had such a wonderful time, we are going back again this week before school starts. I highly recommend Reyes Creek. But be sure to bring lots of water with you and warm clothes and sleeping bags because it gets pretty chilly at night. read more

Basing this on what the host at another campsite disclosed. There was no host at this site during a particular weekend (they tend to leave after 2 weeks b/c of issues with campers) there was a large biker gang, the Devils Disciples, and another large group that were actually the ones apparently causing problems very loud, campfires when they were prohibited. Cops weren't called b/c there was guns, drugs and the like and the bikers didn't want the cops snooping around either. So if you are a family and there is no host I would not stay. read more

The sites were $40 a night which is expensive for what you get. Windy road, the worst vault toilets I've every seen, and many neighbors partying until 3 a.m. The bathrooms were pit toilets so of course they smelled, but the doors didn't close all the way, the toilet seat was cracked, and the spiderwebs were massive. Our campsite was on the creek, but we had a hard time finding room to fit our tent. We arrived on a Friday to an overflowing dumpster right by our site that still overflowing on Sunday when we left. That might be why we were overrun by red ants. There were other sites that looked better. 2 stars because there was a creek with cool running water. There was a small waterfall a short walk away. read more

Not a very good experience. Location was nice, but campground was deserted. Dumpsters were overflowing, pit toilets had not been maintained and were pretty disgusting. Two campsites were abandoned with tents left to rot on there frames, clothing scattered and hung in trees... Coyotes present... Obviously, it could be an ideal spot if maintained, but really gave us a creepy feeling. No cell coverage, so if anything were to happen, you're on your own. Too bad, beautiful spot. Would not stay again. read more

I prefer primitive or dispersed camping because I usually like as much privacy as I can get when I'm camping, but with current fire restrictions I was limited to developed campsites if I wanted a campfire (and what's the point of camping without a campfire?). I was also planning the trip on short notice, so developed, reserveable campsites were in short supply. Then I found Reyes Creek. The campground is very isolated. It's about a 40 minute drive from the nearest town (and therefore the nearest gas station or market - plan ahead). There is no power, or water. There's no cell service in the camp, but a 5 minute drive up the mountain there's a dirt lot they call the 'phone booth' that gets decent reception. The camp hosts were super friendly and helpful. There are 2 loops for campsites - the center of the main loop seemed pretty flat, but all the sites were visible to your neighbors. Sites on the outside of the main loop offered more privacy, but most appeared to not be very level, and not necessarily well laid out. I stayed in site 11 on the outside of the loop which was large and fairly quiet, but my 6 person tent just barely fit in between some trees which offered some shade and was only on a slight angle. The one downside was the bathrooms - vault toilets that varied in condition, but none that I used were particularly good. If bathroom condition is a major sticking point with you, you may want to look elsewhere. As an added bonus, as isolated as the place is, right outside the entrance to the campground is a bar & grill called the Camp Scheideck Lodge. They have a full bar and great food (and the customer-only bathroom is a great step up from the campground). It just changed owners last month (second time in a couple years) and the new owner, Devin, is friendly and welcoming. The temperature varies greatly from day to night (90's to 50's when I was there) and there are bugs a plenty, so bring repellant. Firewood is available at the camp, and ice is available at the lodge. So if you want a little isolation with privacy, a campfire, and a friendly bar within walking distance, this place is for you. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Of all the "paid" camping spots I have been too, this one HANDS DOWN beats them all; best part is its FREE! That's not actually the best part.....but a good one. I cant believe that after 20 years I didn't know about this hidden GEM all these years!! I will definitely be back again and again and..........its so close to home read more

We had made Reyes Creek our place to go to unwind and relax.. The Creek is peaceful and plentiful with fish.. Hiking is totally awesome and if you go far enough you will come upon a horse ranch where you are able to ride.. The little town has good warm people in it . Very inviting .. the bar and grill is nice but alittle over priced.. The only problem we had is someone who tried to over take our spot because they were camping and we were just day use.. read more

One of the best spots for traditional, tent hitching, campers. Sun, creek, shade, and a BAR!! We have been coming for years have a routine down and have extended our family to include the locals!! You are old school if you call it Camp Schiedack! Bring your own TP and air fresheners, there is space for RVs if you must. read more
