My boss and a couple of coworkers all recommended I get my next color / highlights with Diane at Rhiannon's Closet. The problem: I have been going to the same girl for years and I just adore her. In fact, I have left positive reviews for her on Google before. So, I was nervous about going to someone new, it kind of feels like "cheating" on my stylist. However, their hair looks so good and I needed a change and lift in color so I decided to give it a whirl. I am SO glad that I did! I drove to Carrollton to find her salon on the fifth floor of the office building. I felt a few butterflies in my stomach as I went up the elevator. The place was very comfortable, with soft music playing in the background, thank goodness because I was getting more nervous as we discussed all the different colors I have tried on my hair in the past few years. My hair is naturally brown, but I have tried purple / red on the bottom, blank on the bottom, highlights all over, you name it I have probably tried it. I decided to just highlight BLONDE over my brown and red hair. The entire time, we talked about different styles and how to accomplish them. We talked about products and what I should be using and what I shouldn't. She really let me have it flat ironing with daily my Chi. The best part, she didn't expect nor sell any of the products we talked about; she wasn't try to sell me something so she could get a commission. I found it it quite refreshing. As my hair was being shampooed, she taught me to blot my hair dry and counseled me on properly caring for my highlighted hair. Again, I felt myself getting nervous, as if it was going to be another scary moment where my highlights came out orange. I pushed my stop panic button and listened to what she was saying. I have to say I have never been given so much useful advice. Then the big reveal: #$%$%^% it looks $$#%$% Awesome! The best my hair has ever looked..blah blah blah, you get the picture. The cut was perfect, and I do mean perfect. My highlights were for the first time blonder than I had ever had them, my hair just looks HAWT! My hubby is pretty picky, but I couldn't wait to come home and show him. He meets me at the door, excited from my call that I am home. The look on his face said it all, I looked hot. He touched it, looked at said a bunch of compliments that I didn't hear then kissed me. The jest of it is, he too thinks it's the best my hair has EVER looked. And yes, I have always spent alot of money on my hair so that was saying alot. I am feeling so good about the job she did that I knew I had to come home and write this review. I love Rhiannon's Closet!! Diane is a fabulous stylist who I completely trust with my hair... Prior to my hair looking so fab, I must admit it had been years before I had anyone touch my hair. My previous stylist moved to Vegas (congrats to her!) and I was left trying to find someone to do just as good or even better then her. So time went by and before I knew it, my hair went untouched for 8 years! Yes, my hair had not been touched by a stylist for 8 horrible years. I boxed colored my hair, which is an absolute no-no, and I would trim my own hair, which was a nightmare! My hair was right at my waist, and I knew I had to do something quick, so I started asking around, and an acquaintance had mentioned Rhiannon's Closet. After much consideration I made an appointment and on I went to Diane's private studio! After first I was very nervous not because I was afraid of Diane, but more afraid of what she thought of my hair. I was a complete HOTTMESS! When Diane first saw me, she was so compassionate about my concerns and she actually took her time by asking history on my hair, which I thought was awesome. By doing this, I truly believe Diane got a complete understanding about my hair! So as I sat in the chair, Diane stood in front of me and analyzed me over. At this point I had no idea what I wanted. I just knew I wanted something new!! So within a few minutes Diane was in action! I use this term because I promise you I felt like I was in one of the scenes from Edward Scissors Hands! I say this with complete proudness because when Diane got done with my transformation, I was in LOVE!! Diane picked the perfect hair color, cut and style for me!! It was a true customized hair style just for me, and that is what you call a phenomenal stylist! I could not imagine going anywhere else. Matter of fact I take my 4 kids to Rhiannon's Closet because I know she will give them the same care and attention she gives me. Alright, I know that not a lot of guys think that "Salons" are more female oriented and they may be true, but guys if you're looking for an awesome haircut this is the woman you want to go to! Get ready for stories, AMAZING service, and a view of Carrollton, Texas and surrounding areas! Located in the "penthouse suite" ,as Diane calls it, you'll find a woman who is passionate about the hairstyles of not just her clients but the friends and family of her clients. Diane works her magic in a timely fashion and you can sit back relax and let her fingers to the work. Feel free to have drink and discuss your life with her. I have gone to Diane since I was around 5 years old. I am a 21 year old male who loves to go to Diane and for 30 minutes I can just relax and talk and tell her everything I want to. She is not just an amazing hairstylist but she also is an LBGT advocate and an avid band player. This is a nonjudgemental environment and all are welcome to her salon. She is truly an amazing and compassionate woman who serves her community to make them the best looking clients in the Dallas area with a price tag that is affordable and economical. She can make the worst looking butchered super cuts haircut into a work of art you will want to show off all day! I've been a customer of Diane's and Rhiannon's Closet for over 10 years and I can't imagine going anywhere else. Even after moving to far North Fort Worth, I've continued to make the trip to Carrollton and it's well worth the trip. Diane is a phenomenal hair stylist. She's great at color and highlights and I love the way she cuts and styles my hair. To me, the true test of a great hair cut is whether I can re-create the style I get at the salon and I can always re-create the style I received at the salon with ease. When I'm ready for a new style, Diane always gives me great suggestions and she teaches me how to blow dry and style my hair. Dianne has been cutting my hair for quite some time now. She is very professional and has a wealth of knowledge about hair. I had no idea there were so many things can affect the way your hair looks -- medications, general health, stress.
