I have banked w/ HSBC, B of A, Wachovia and others. RSB is by far the best bank in the HV.

If I could give a zero for this bank, their service or more importantly their lack there of I would. Tried to get the correct pay off information for my car loan. Called twice and was given the incorrect information only to be told there were unknown late fees on my account that I was not notified of. They added those supposed unpaid late fees on an auto pay account according to them at the end of the loan which is unheard of. Matt you should reconsider why you work in customer service because it is not your calling. You are rude, condescending and nasty. It is no wonder why there are so many negative and poor reviews for this bank and don't think I haven't reported it to the better business bureau and consumer affairs. Despicable. read more

I got a mortgage with them. The whole process they couldn't be less communicative. They kept passing my application off to someone else, had three diffent people and then ended up back with the first person. They sent the disclosure before they were done with it and never sent over the updated version because, and this is an exact quote "we aren't required to". Took three voicemails (never returned) and two ignored emails to finally get ahold of them to tell me how much I was actually supposed to bring to the closing. Unexpected Account Closure and Loan Reversal After Providing Proof I applied for a $5,000 personal loan with Rhinebeck Bank. The first application was denied for "not enough credit history." I then provided proof of a paid-off auto loan that Rhinebeck Bank had issued to me in the past, which they confirmed existed in their system (but was not showing on my credit report). After I provided proof of the paid-off loan, my application was approved with set terms. The next day, the bank reversed the decision and denied the same loan due to "misrepresentations" -- even though the bank acknowledged that the payment history they saw came from a third-party credit company, not from me. Shortly after, the bank closed the checking account I had just opened and sent a cease-and-desist letter. I was never accused of creating false documents -- only that the bank received them from another company. Based on my experience, I feel the bank handled the situation without clear communication or fairness. I would recommend anyone applying for loans here to document every step, because decisions can change suddenly without a clear explanation. read more

I try hard to practice what my parents taught me, you have nothing nice to say, say nothing! Check the other reviews out, some are exaggerated and some on point. I'll share the claim of community bank is a false claim. I feel more sense of community from a big box bank. Branch staff should be prepared to service any banking situation from account questions to simply filling a change order. Clients shouldn't be turned away or made to wait to fulfil banking needs. read more

You people have been charging me $2 per debit transaction when I'm being forced to use debit instead of credit at A LOT of different merchants. All of these merchants have NO problem with any cards besides yours. I have been charged over 30 times in a month. I was only given back $20 of it. Your employee Nicole thinks I should've noticed the fees and it's my problem. She also let me know that no one is forcing me to start the mortgage I was just approved for through you and let me know who to call to cancel it. As of this weekend, I'm now not able to pull money from YOUR ATM!! This is complete fraud and I have a list of people started that this is happening to as well as me. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau since no one will return my calls and your holding my money from me. read more
