About half the roof, along with 7 skylights were damaged. The insurance adjuster just wanted to replace the damage sections but David argued that these tiles were no longer manufactured and any other tile would not match the dimensions or the color. Hence, all of the roof needed replacement. It was a 2100 sf house plus 600 sf garage that required 30 squares of concrete-based hail resistant tiles. They could not do the repair for about 4 months, so a crew was sent to tarp the roof. 4 months later they started, took about a week with an 8 man crew. Result was absolute perfection. Super teamwork and craftsmanship.

Once it rained, about 3 weeks after they put the shingles on and refused to tell us whether or not they were finished, we had 2 terrible leaks still, actually worse than before they started! Randy Ponce tried to blame our skylights on the opposite side of the house, which was physically impossible! After several attempts to get them to rectify the situation Randy texted that he was declining to finish the job and refused to do the interior. Then stopped all communication with us except for having someone in his office email to ask for more money! We sued Mountain Star Roofing and Randy Ponce and are still in litigation as he has not even shown up for the first two hearings! I should add that they also gooped tar all over our fairly new siding! And that they were slamming the shingles down on the roof so hard that it was extremely loud and made some of the sheetrock come down in our bedroom and kitchen which WE HAVE PICTURES AND VIDEO OF EVERYTHING! I really appreciated their attention to details like a well-installed/new drip edge along the inside & outside roof perimeter, and constantly cleaning up behind themselves/work area.
