was a client for a loan modification with Simon & Resnik. The firm directed me to stop paying my mortgage payments and misrepresent my earnings.
My high Fico score was destroyed and my credit lines were taken away.
The law firm took money from me at the start of the modification, the trial loan modification & the final Documentation. I was told this is against the law.
Furthermore Resnik and his representatives allowed Wells Fargo to dual track my during the modification process. Against the law 1/1/13.
After 4 months of paying Wells Fargo trial modification I received final loan documents.
The Principle amount was $80,000 more than conveyed by Resnik. There was also tiered interest rates that escalate after 5 years. This was never disclosed by Simon & Resnik.
Then I saw a ballon payment of over $500,000.
There was no principle reduction at at. I sent comps to Simon & Resnik to justify a price $200,000-$300,000 less than the mortgage I was sabotaged with.
I could have short sold the house to a stranger for $200,000 -$300,000 dollars less than my final loan documents stated.
I mentioned to Matt Resnik how disappointed I was with the Loan documents. His reply was two fold.
1. That I can file bankruptcy.
My response was that was never an option. We discussed that in detail prior to the agreement being signed.
2. Matt Resnik said "I never wanted to pay him."
That is not true. He was paid within 10 days of every invoice.
3. The next dagger was a balloon payment of over $500,000. This was never conveyed prior or during the trial loan modification. I did request specifics about the loan from Resnik. The above were never disclosed to me.
4. Matt Resnik then proposed for an additional $1800 he can reject the offer from Well Fargo and begin the process again....no guarantees.
5.readers- I had notices of sale on my home during this process of representation by Simon & Resnik.
I would receive 10-15 foreclosure & notice of sale notices from Wells Fargo & their representatives.
The law states that the lender should withdraw the notice to sell 10 days prior to foreclose during a loan modification.
Every month to 6 weeks I would get 1 notice on the day before the scheduled sale date that the sale was postponed.
All along Simon & Resnik needed reminders that my sole residence since 1993 was at risk of being sold in foreclosure.
My stellar financial history was decimated by listening to the advice of Simon & Resnik.
Matt Resnik became very Nasty personally to me.
My advocate became my adversary and I paid over $5000 for the abuse!
Readers- this is my third post in Yelp against The law firm of Simon & Resnik. They say I was never a client. Yelp removes my review.

Just as a point of fact. I interviewed Simon & Resnik and was offered a written contract price of approximately $4900 for complete services to be paid in three phases. ( later I found out from another attorney that this pricing could be against the law for a loan modification).
When I returned to accept the agreement with Simon & Resnik, the contract's pricing was approximately $7500 for the same services.
I questioned the increase and Mr. Resnik agreed to the previous written contract offer.
That was a red flag to run away fast that unfortunately I ignored!
