This was my first visit to Rhubarb. It was a pleasant surprise. The cafe had music in the background but it wasn't very loud so sitting here was quite comfortable. I ordered a coffee and the featured sandwich. My partner ordered a savoury toast dish and meatball soup. I tasted her toast but didn't find it particularly flavourful although it was hard to tell right after eating my sandwich. The sandwich made for a nice light lunch. It was well made with good flavours. I had a drip coffee that was freshly made and it was quite nice. Actually it was better than "nice" as it was just right. If Rhubarb Cafe was closer to home I would definitely return but I live on the other side of the city. If you are looking for a relaxing environment to enjoy your coffee and perhaps a light lunch or pastry, this might be the cafe for you. As a bonus you get to visit the best looking strip mall in Edmonton. I recommend it.

I have been here for coffee and also for cocktails. I'm telling you their cocktails are amazing. Very unique and so delicious. Their patio is really nice right by the fountain in Manchester Square. I highly recommend the Rhubarb cocktail and the Rhubarb mule. I appreciate that they have milk, alternatives, and vegetarian options on their menu. Last time we were there for cocktails the waiter didn't come out once to ask us if we needed anything else and the interior could use some work for the night cocktail vibe. But I would still highly recommend.

This is a very cute hangout spot in Manchester yeg! We had their espresso and scone flight - both are honestly meh but come for the cute vibes and cute photos!

Nice location in Manchester Square with plenty of parking, bike accessible (via the multi-use path that comes up from Oliver), and a nice south-facing patio to catch the spring sunshine. This place looks trendy and has lots of room indoors as well as a decent amount of seating outside. Their strong points seem to be fancy cocktails and coffee/pastries; good place to stop by for a latte and a pastry on a weekend morning, or for some fancy drinks in the evening. We had a Golden Hour and a Chimney Sweep cocktail and both were delicious. Unfortunately the service was very slow; we sat down outside but as nobody greeted us I went inside to order; but although the patio outside was mostly full the entire interior was empty, even the front bar, and I stood there for nearly 5 minutes before anyone came to help me. We tried their Maple Pumpkin Bruschetta as well, from their food cocktail menu; however, we were less impressed with this. Not only was there no significant amount of either pumpkin or maple (it was mostly yellow tomatoes), the toasted baguette slices were over-dry and hard. We had originally contemplated getting a few of the nibbles here for dinner but the experience of the bruschetta made us decide to move elsewhere for food. However, they are literally called "Rhubarb Cafe & Cocktails" so clearly they know their strong points - by all means visit them and enjoy some great cocktails (and presumably coffee) and maybe just skip the bar food for now. They're pretty new at this location so hopefully once they get into the swing of things their service and food quality will both improve.

We decided to have a date on Saturday morning. We ended up at this very cute Cafe. Walking in I was amazed how beautiful it looked. Excellent space and clean/crisp atmosphere. I ordered white mocha while the wife ordered a Caramel Macchiato. For snacks we got a mini egg cookie and a Danish of some sort. My ratings were as follows: Coffees 3/5 Danish 1/5 (was hard and dry) Cookie 4/5 Ambience 5/5 The service was very friendly and quick. Seems pricier than other places but it is meant to be upscale. All in all, was a great visit (besides the danish). Cute space to have a coffee date. The complex looks very European and gives you a feel that you are not in Edmonton.

We had made a reservation for when they first opened so we were the first ones in the restaurant. We were seated right away and our waitress Teagan was friendly and polite. I liked the house white wine, and ordered the signature shrimp ravioli with a side salad. It was a good choice as the pasta dish was very rich and the salad really helped. I highly recommend getting a salad with that dish. It's super rich and indulgent, so delicious though. I might order the app size next time though. Hubs ordered a zero proof cocktail and the curry and rice dish, it was also very good. My only tiny complaint was that the music was a bit loud. I asked if the music could be turned down a bit. The waitress said she had asked the manager and that they would turn it down. Sadly the music stayed the same, but everything else was top notch!

Slap on your sparkly dress and a pair of heels (or wear whatever the heck you want) and make your way to Downtown's pink palace! You'll remember this location as the former home of Fu's Repair Shop and Prairie Fish & Chips before that. The Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list named Dolly's as Favourite Patio and the pictures that I've seen of the back terrace look completely adorable, complete with colourful lanterns. Unfortunately, my visit was in October and it wasn't quite patio weather anymore. I turned up on a Friday evening with one of my best girlfriends in tow and we were ready for the biggest Barbiecore night of our lives! Imagine our surprise when we discovered that Dolly's had been transformed into the "Black Lagoon" for the month of October in the spirit of Halloween. (I probably should have looked into this in advance but I was unaware!) I was expecting Cyndi Lauper and Aqua but instead I got Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. The whole restaurant was draped in the most spider webs that I've ever seen. There were giant spiders hanging from the ceiling and spooky skeletons in every corner. It was a vibe, that's for sure!! But certainly not the one that I had been anticipating. Bits of pink paint and sparkly chandeliers peeked through in some areas and the neon "Dolly's" sign on the wall allowed me to imagine what the Barbie dreamhouse-esque space normally looks like just a little bit. Otherwise, Dolly's was fully transformed into the moody Black Lagoon. I should've worn fishnets instead of glitter. The servers were all very friendly and we were quickly seated at a comfortable table along the hot pink velour banquette. Dolly's invites you to sip, snack, and stay in their minor-free glamorous escape. The house cocktails and mocktails are a major part of the experience (it is a cocktail bar after all) and I was excited to get a cute pink beverage into my hand! There was also a menu of Black Lagoon-themed cocktails that were all served in fun tiki-style vessels. This menu included themed foods as well. I personally had my eye on the Pink Palace Royale cocktail which I saw on the menu online. Made with a special collab gin with Strathcona Spirits and Licor 43 (one of my favourite liqueurs), this sounded like everything that I wanted in a cocktail and more! Other drinks had names like Dolly's Dreamhouse, Bubbilicious, and the house shot was called the Bend & Snap - exactly the sort of drinks that I had come for! However, I was sorely disappointed when the server told me that the drink I wanted was no longer on the menu. It seemed that I could only order a Halloween beverage. I fumbled to find anything that Elle Woods would approve of and settled on a mocktail called Pretty in Pink (Strawberry, cream of coconut, lime, soda, mint - $9.00) and the server suggested that the bar could add vanilla vodka to turn it into a proper cocktail. I agreed. Honestly, I was just relieved to get something pink onto the table! I enjoyed this icy-fresh cocktail a lot and it delivered most of what I had been hoping for. The sweetness of the strawberry and coconut was really fun! The lime and mint added a mojito flair. A very cute and well-composed beverage but I was sad that most of the girly drinks didn't seem to be available. When it comes to eats at Dolly's the food is what you would expect to see at a party, with the idea of sharing at the heart. I loved the idea of Dolly's Funhouse (which is an epic plate of nachos), and dishes like wings, tacos, and mac & cheese. However, the dish to order at Dolly's has gotta be the Girl Dinner (Truffle tots, chickie tendies, aji verde, aji rocoto, pineapple sweet & sour, Dolly's salad - $50.00 for two). It's a must-share so grab your girlies and prepare to chow down! They had me at tots. The Girl Dinner platter arrived looking extremely appetizing and somehow exactly what I wanted to be eating in a place that looked like this. The portion was exactly right for two people and I loved the pretty floral printed plates that we were given to dish our tots and tendies onto. As previously mentioned, I enjoy a tot. (I have a suspicion that Napoleon Dynamite really imprinted on me.) But truffle tots? Now that's just a home run! Topped with sea salt, truffle oil, and parmesan cheese, these golden potato nuggets were fried to perfection with a crispy outside and a soft and fluffy inside. I could have eaten them all. They were awesome to dunk into each of the sauces and when the rest of the food was gone we were still popping tots into our mouths. We couldn't even finish them all because the portion was so generous! The star of the meal were the chickie tendies; two giant chicken tenders, of which we each got our own. I loved this chicken! The batter was really flavourful and unique, and oh so crispy-crunchy. The chicken within was very tender and juicy, proving that an elevated chicke

Tonnes of amazing cocktails on the menu. I think I will try a different cocktail every time I go. There is one for everyone. Menu is short but has something for everyone there too. I decided on the Warm Mushroom Salad which contained a Mushroom Medley, with a Shallot, Rose Water, & Elderflower Liqueur Vinaigrette and the Spicy Rigatoni with Habanero Rose Sauce. My husband went with Braised Chuck Flatserved on fresh grits, glazed in demi. Cocktails were carefully crafted and the food came out in a timely manner. Food was excellent. The mushroom salad was full of flavour and cooked properly. The spicy rigatoini was excellent with just enough heat from the habanero sauce. However, the real start was the braised chuck which melted with a tap of the fork. The grits were well cooked and a good accompaniment. We were stuffed but I would like to try thier desserts in the future. Cocktail prices were high but in the same price range as other fancy cocktail bars. The food prices were the same as many other places but with higher quality. Definately try this place out. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Waters were provided as well as a wine bottle-type jug with water in it - too bad the wine bottle is quite dark and the waiter cannot tell when it is empty and needs a refill. We tried: Ricotta Fritters: 7/10, tomato sauce was very overpowering in flavor, corn was very nice. Fritters themselves were very tasty and the ricotta filling was very nice but it gets hidden when eaten with the potent tomato sauce. Broccolini: 9/10, good, good flavor, cooked well just not sure they are worth the price for what you get. Risotto: 6/10, my uncle gave it a 8/10 as he liked it. To me it was pretty bland, could be that the carrot flavor isn't my thing, but just found it underwhelming and lacking flavor (maybe needs more salt too) Texture was very good though. Colcannon Gnocchi: 12/10. This dish was soooo good. Loved the mushroom cream sauce, sour cream, GIANT bacon jam blobs, gnocchi itself had good texture. But combined the flavors were phenomenal. 100% recommend this dish. Unfortunately Amberjack was not available. Herb Marinated Chicken Thighs: Chicken was 9/10 good, good flavor and texture but Brussel sprouts were bad like no one would eat them bad. Undercooked and under seasoned. Little rocks that had a bad taste. Sauce was good to add moisture but was very very bland/tasteless. Overall this fed 3 of us well with no leftovers but also no room for dessert.
