It was me and my partners first time here and needless to say we had a great experience... im all about the vibe and this place definitely passes for me... its soft low lighting could do without the music, but i genuinely think every restaurant could go without it;) our server/ service was amazing i wish i could remember her name but she was super sweet and friendly! We got the creole crab and spinach dip/ calamari/ something bolognese (lol)/ and the salmon... PLUS A FREE DESERT?!? cause it was our first time.. pretty cool! Everything tasted pretty delicious. I especially liked the crab dip... overall its like a joeys or earls kinda place, which for me I LOVE! Would definitely come here again and recommend to people:)))

I'm not certain why I'm here, and it is totally unexpected as I shouldn't be in Edmonton. It's the Canadian fires. (Let's hope they end soon for all our Canadian neighbors.) Oh well, go with the flow. If I had a choice, this would be mine for a meal here. This is a Canadian chain and quite good. Centrally located, the restaurant is chic, beautifully designed, and pleasant. Sat outdoors and they had misters for the not so bad heat (78degees F) The menu is extensive with lots of good options. I selected the lemongrass salad with prawns. It was excellent, full of shredded fresh veggies and cold noodles. It was lightly dressed. The prawns were some of the best I've had in some time. Washing it down with a Spritz and some edamame, it was a perfect lunch. Service was top-notch and on top of the game. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I went here with my cousin for lunch. I still think that the restaurant here is gear for younger people and for lunch professionals. We weren't either. The ambiance is okay but not unique. Think of it as an upscale Earls. Our server was distracted for most of our time. It took her awhile to refill drinks and see how we were doing. It was quite busy. Menu has something for everyone which is nice. And the food here is pretty decent but on the pricier side. I decided on the salad with crab cakes with fries while my cousin had the green curry. Food came out in a timely manner. My crab cakes were quite good and I really enjoyed the salad that came with them along with the fries. Decent crab ratio and cooked well. My cousin though was disappointed with her curry. She didn't really appreciate the flavour. Not my first place to go for lunch, but not awful either.

Cactus Jasper definitely has a more upscale vibe than the west edmonton one. Me and the wifey were craving the med bowl, so we decided to have a date night to Cactus. Upon arrival we were greeted pleasantly by the hostess and seated earlier than our reservation. We were sat in the dining room patio. Definitely a beautiful patio except for the Jasper Ave traffic of douchbags that like to rip their loud cars down the street. We got the Zen rolls to start (compromise with wife who doesn't like actual sushi) a few summery bevys followed by 2 med bowls that did not disappoint. Presentation and quality was on point. Definitly still a hot spot in edmonton. Consistently pleasing spot in Edmonton and definitely recommended the med bowl with chicken and falafel!

High expectations as a 'fancy for Edmonton' spot. Service was a tad tardy but not sluggish. The 7 o'clock rush will do that to a place. They've used the space as best they could but squeezing past to visit the washroom can't be comfortable for everyone. No complaints food wise, they make healthy tasty. Great cocktails, didn't partake this time though. Also a fun selection of BC beers, as the restaurants origins would suggest. Also fun story: There was a woman complaining of the serrations on the knives, (yeah I know) I'd like to share that it was handled gracefully.

Cactus Club remains a four star for me. I've had the curbside take out a few times. The food is really the same as dine in. Same good quality and hot. As always the appies are great, this is the one place where I indulge myself and have the fries because they're soooo good. Supper here is super. The food is varied. Currently there are a number of options for ordering, I'm fond of the two course meal where one can select an appetizer and a main from a selected list. For curbside pick up one parks out back in selected spots, it's a bit busy back there, no matter what time/day I've been there. When you arrive you text to let them know, and so far they've been out with my order in about five minutes.

One of the few nice establishments that my cousin took us to eat while in Edmonton. Since we came pretty late, it was pretty crowded and we had to stand around in the super dark ass waiting area. This gave us ample time to look at the late night happy hour items and drinks. we got seated and OF COURSE the first thing we order are drinks. I don't remember exactly what we ordered, it but it was around New Years, so it was pretty "festive." and when I mean festive, they literally put a fuckin piece of a pine tree branch in my drink and called it a day. probably plucked it from outside, honestly. my sister got this frozen sangria thing with a blackberry on top. this one was MUCH better... I don't know why she got it though -- we were trying to get warm from the heat lamps but she got literally the opposite onto the foooodd -prawn and ravioli trio: I have an absolute love for butternut squash, and even more so in ravioli. this was delicious, appreciated the mascarpone and the juicy shrimp -- but really really really needed some more sauce. -Fish (possibly cod): this is no longer on the menu, but this was my favorite. It had flaky and buttery meat, complimented with savory thai red curry with the crunch of pine nuts. Rice was a nice way to sop up the rest of the sauce -kobe meatballs: tomato sauce was FIRE. juicy beef flavor + garlic bread too? to die for -fish tacos: L O L Issa ok, pass tho definitely a place to get wine and dined, or to stop buy for a drink before heading onto other bars. not a place to actually drink drank drunk because the area around the bar is too smallllz

Delightful dinner at Cactus Club: Wagyu Beef Carpaccio amuse bouche, Salad w/ Crab Cake & Frites (for me), Thai Green Curry (for she). All excellent!

Love the Cactus Club! I've been here many times... back when I worked nearby a few years ago, I'd stop with coworkers for an extended lunch, and more recently, I've gone for dinner a few times with my husband, sister, mom, and BFF, and it just doesn't disappoint. This is one of the few Edmonton restaurants that I keep coming back to. I typically save dining out (besides fast food/takeout) for when I travel, but obviously with the pandemic, we've been doing that less frequently, and this restaurant has been a nice escape from hiding out at home. The truffle fries are excellent, and the peach bellini and tuna poke bowl are some of the best I've tried anywhere. I also love the butternut squash ravioli. Perhaps my favorite thing about the Cactus Club is that you know what you're getting... it's consistently good and perfect for when you just want something comforting, familiar, filling, and not too pretentious or fancy. That seems to be a tall order these days in this city, even pre-pandemic. The menu has something for everyone... my vegetarian sister loves it here too. Service is friendly and quick, the atmosphere is fun (and it's nice to hear music that was popular when I was a teenager... they definitely know their demographic!), and prices are what you'd expect for downtown Edmonton.

Always down for anything that has shrimp on it! Hands down to the Prawn Ravioli Trio and Prawn Crunch Roll! My fav to order at this place!

Best happy hour in edmonton. Cool vibe. Great music. Delicious food. Cactus club has the best happy hour monday to saturday from 3-6pm or 9pm to 1am. There is an extensive menu of items for $4, $8, $13 or $20. My favourites are the butternut squash raviloi, truffled fries, and the southern smash and frose. I must say that pretty much everything on the menu is delicious. But you must order the ravioli here. Its the best ravioli i have had in my entire life! So addictive and delicious. I cannot get enough of it. I have pretty much extensively eaten here for work parties and they do large groups pretty stellar. Its one of my favourite places for a fun night out. I also have come for late nights on dates, midday with friends and everytime the service is top notch in the restaurant. The lounge can have pretty dismal service at night bc its just way too busy there. I cant rave about the happy hour. This is my go to for late night cheap eats. The dj is typically playing some hard core awesome old school beats. Its a fun place to be no matter what time of day you come here!

We frequent the WEM location and I have to say, it is always delicious!! Food is fresh looking and tastes great. Staff are always friendly and accommodating as I come with my 95 yr old grandfather. Keep up the great standards!!

Slap on your sparkly dress and a pair of heels (or wear whatever the heck you want) and make your way to Downtown's pink palace! You'll remember this location as the former home of Fu's Repair Shop and Prairie Fish & Chips before that. The Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list named Dolly's as Favourite Patio and the pictures that I've seen of the back terrace look completely adorable, complete with colourful lanterns. Unfortunately, my visit was in October and it wasn't quite patio weather anymore. I turned up on a Friday evening with one of my best girlfriends in tow and we were ready for the biggest Barbiecore night of our lives! Imagine our surprise when we discovered that Dolly's had been transformed into the "Black Lagoon" for the month of October in the spirit of Halloween. (I probably should have looked into this in advance but I was unaware!) I was expecting Cyndi Lauper and Aqua but instead I got Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. The whole restaurant was draped in the most spider webs that I've ever seen. There were giant spiders hanging from the ceiling and spooky skeletons in every corner. It was a vibe, that's for sure!! But certainly not the one that I had been anticipating. Bits of pink paint and sparkly chandeliers peeked through in some areas and the neon "Dolly's" sign on the wall allowed me to imagine what the Barbie dreamhouse-esque space normally looks like just a little bit. Otherwise, Dolly's was fully transformed into the moody Black Lagoon. I should've worn fishnets instead of glitter. The servers were all very friendly and we were quickly seated at a comfortable table along the hot pink velour banquette. Dolly's invites you to sip, snack, and stay in their minor-free glamorous escape. The house cocktails and mocktails are a major part of the experience (it is a cocktail bar after all) and I was excited to get a cute pink beverage into my hand! There was also a menu of Black Lagoon-themed cocktails that were all served in fun tiki-style vessels. This menu included themed foods as well. I personally had my eye on the Pink Palace Royale cocktail which I saw on the menu online. Made with a special collab gin with Strathcona Spirits and Licor 43 (one of my favourite liqueurs), this sounded like everything that I wanted in a cocktail and more! Other drinks had names like Dolly's Dreamhouse, Bubbilicious, and the house shot was called the Bend & Snap - exactly the sort of drinks that I had come for! However, I was sorely disappointed when the server told me that the drink I wanted was no longer on the menu. It seemed that I could only order a Halloween beverage. I fumbled to find anything that Elle Woods would approve of and settled on a mocktail called Pretty in Pink (Strawberry, cream of coconut, lime, soda, mint - $9.00) and the server suggested that the bar could add vanilla vodka to turn it into a proper cocktail. I agreed. Honestly, I was just relieved to get something pink onto the table! I enjoyed this icy-fresh cocktail a lot and it delivered most of what I had been hoping for. The sweetness of the strawberry and coconut was really fun! The lime and mint added a mojito flair. A very cute and well-composed beverage but I was sad that most of the girly drinks didn't seem to be available. When it comes to eats at Dolly's the food is what you would expect to see at a party, with the idea of sharing at the heart. I loved the idea of Dolly's Funhouse (which is an epic plate of nachos), and dishes like wings, tacos, and mac & cheese. However, the dish to order at Dolly's has gotta be the Girl Dinner (Truffle tots, chickie tendies, aji verde, aji rocoto, pineapple sweet & sour, Dolly's salad - $50.00 for two). It's a must-share so grab your girlies and prepare to chow down! They had me at tots. The Girl Dinner platter arrived looking extremely appetizing and somehow exactly what I wanted to be eating in a place that looked like this. The portion was exactly right for two people and I loved the pretty floral printed plates that we were given to dish our tots and tendies onto. As previously mentioned, I enjoy a tot. (I have a suspicion that Napoleon Dynamite really imprinted on me.) But truffle tots? Now that's just a home run! Topped with sea salt, truffle oil, and parmesan cheese, these golden potato nuggets were fried to perfection with a crispy outside and a soft and fluffy inside. I could have eaten them all. They were awesome to dunk into each of the sauces and when the rest of the food was gone we were still popping tots into our mouths. We couldn't even finish them all because the portion was so generous! The star of the meal were the chickie tendies; two giant chicken tenders, of which we each got our own. I loved this chicken! The batter was really flavourful and unique, and oh so crispy-crunchy. The chicken within was very tender and juicy, proving that an elevated chicke

The mushroom salad was full of flavour and cooked properly. The spicy rigatoini was excellent with just enough heat from the habanero sauce. However, the real start was the braised chuck which melted with a tap of the fork. The grits were well cooked and a good accompaniment. Waters were provided as well as a wine bottle-type jug with water in it - too bad the wine bottle is quite dark and the waiter cannot tell when it is empty and needs a refill. We tried: Ricotta Fritters: 7/10, tomato sauce was very overpowering in flavor, corn was very nice. Fritters themselves were very tasty and the ricotta filling was very nice but it gets hidden when eaten with the potent tomato sauce. Broccolini: 9/10, good, good flavor, cooked well just not sure they are worth the price for what you get. Risotto: 6/10, my uncle gave it a 8/10 as he liked it. To me it was pretty bland, could be that the carrot flavor isn't my thing, but just found it underwhelming and lacking flavor (maybe needs more salt too) Texture was very good though. Colcannon Gnocchi: 12/10. This dish was soooo good. Loved the mushroom cream sauce, sour cream, GIANT bacon jam blobs, gnocchi itself had good texture. But combined the flavors were phenomenal. 100% recommend this dish. Unfortunately Amberjack was not available. Herb Marinated Chicken Thighs: Chicken was 9/10 good, good flavor and texture but Brussel sprouts were bad like no one would eat them bad. Undercooked and under seasoned. Little rocks that had a bad taste. Sauce was good to add moisture but was very very bland/tasteless. Overall this fed 3 of us well with no leftovers but also no room for dessert.
