This was easy to get to…read moreand had an attached service centre but the building was cold, draughty and had the ambience of an aircraft hanger. As of October 2008 they have relocated, making the short hop over to the Mostyn Champneys estate. The new shop is much more pleasant and appears cleaner and brighter. The staff all appear to be friendly and helpful. Theres a mezzanine floor for the bike department which is well stocked with a large selection of both bikes and equipment. The ground floor has all the car stuff and is well stocked despite being smaller than the old place. The service centre has stayed behind but that was franchised out years ago so it isn't part of Halfords anymore. All in all and nice shop if you need parts for your car or bike.

Then head to Tyreworld on Woodend Avenue (on the way to Speke from Hunts Cross). Its workforce is Tyreworld's real asset. They work quickly and have things done when they say they will. Better than that, if you're as clueless as I about cars, they are always honest. If you need four new tyres and a replacement back-box, they'll tell you and charge you a competitive price. If you need one new tyre, they'll tell you and charge a good price. If you've got a tyre that's slightly worn but will do for another six months, they'll tell you that too. Tyre checks are free and it's around £15 to have your tracking realigned, which is pretty good in my opinion. There's even a little cafe close by, so you don't have to shiver in the south Liverpool extremities.

Whilst their car park is small its usually crammed full of sports car, rally cars, race spec buggies as well as vintage vehicles Land Rovers and much much more. Customers often travel from the South Coast of England to use their services. Advertising is purely by word of mouth but you will need to book in at least six weeks in advance such is their popularity due in no small part to their very low prices. The parts used are always excellent quality from well known brands and where humanly possible they will return your vehicle to you the same day.

They also sell trailers etc. On the first floor is the bike section. There is a great selection of bikes. The guys are extremely helpful. They even offer a service to assemble any bikes that you buy. They also offer a facility for the bike to get serviced. More thought should have been given to the design of the store, as having a bike shop upstairs isn't really practical. Also outside the shop there are only a small number of parking spaces very close to the store, although there are hundreds in the retail park itself.
