As we were visiting the shops this place caught my eye with their selection of magnets. Once inside I was in love, art! So many different mediums by an array of talented artists. If you look in the same direction twice you'll see something new every time. In the back there's even a small gallery featuring a different rotating artist, I wish I would have taken some photos, brilliant works. I eventually got back to the magnets and one caught my eye, he looks just like me. I couldn't believe it. Of course I had to purchase him as a keep sake from this amazing visit. See photo. Isn't he's adorable?! We cannot wait to get back to Sitges and of course visit artAmore. Hopefully next time we will have room for a painting or two. Do yourself a favor and stop in, best art shop in Sitges. So much art and love!

We stumbled across Artevistas Gallery as we wondered through Barcelona--falling in love with a…read morepicture displayed in the front window. The piece was large and expensive (although very well-priced for the quality and size), and my husband and I weren't quite ready to make a decision. We were also nervous to deal with a business we had no knowledge of, involving significant funds and shipping overseas. We talked to one of the gallery associates, Chimera, who took my email address and said she would email me a photo of the piece as we considered its purchase. Chimera followed through exactly as she said she would. She made the process so seamless and took the fear out of buying a rather expensive item while traveling in a foreign country and getting it efficiently and safely transported. It arrived in less time than expected in perfect condition, and we are thrilled with the entire transaction.

I'm all for being a conscious consumer, so even though I enjoyed visiting the gallery- when I learned about the owner's practices I was disappointed and can no longer recommend this business. Most of the art consists of photographs of Barcelona that are set into deep frames, and then cut and styled so that the image has a 3-d element to it-- this is a common style of art I have seen around Barcelona (for cheaper than Maxó's 23€ too) so these pieces are probably original?
