I'm all for being a conscious consumer, so even though I enjoyed visiting the gallery- when I learned about the owner's practices I was disappointed and can no longer recommend this business. Most of the art consists of photographs of Barcelona that are set into deep frames, and then cut and styled so that the image has a 3-d element to it-- this is a common style of art I have seen around Barcelona (for cheaper than Maxó's 23€ too) so these pieces are probably original?

This is a great poster store, and that's all there really is to it…read more The quantity of posters that poster stores have always impresses me, and once again, they have tons of posters. You can find almost any theme and almost any size which is nice. My only real issue with the store, is that there isn't much material that seems to be one of a kind, but I guess that in a poster store, there really isn't meant to be that type of stuff. There are two rooms. The first, main one, has mainstream classics like Bob Marley in three colors, Andy Warhol, and Marilyn Monroe, along with music, movies, and TV shows. The second room has nature pictures, paintings (some of 'em in giant sizes), and other more art-world related things. They have a great selection of postcards, which consists of lots of Gold Age of Hollywood actors and actresses, along with more generic Barcelona pictures. The staff is really really nice, even though most of the time in their in the back and there's no one at the counter, which bothers me, but that's just me. Anyways, this is a great place, and it's where I always go to get posters for presents or for myself. Above all, walk around, look at everything, and enjoy!

It was such a perfect spot to discover, that I'm almost hesitant to write a review and risk the change that may come from people searching for it. However, the three owners are so cool and gracious that I only wish their continued success and have no doubt they can keep it real, keep it feeling like a family of eclectic interesting friends that you never knew you had.
