The building itself is impressing with its beauty - a garden leading down to a small lake shaped by a river slowing down for a while. Inside we have the combination of ancient style and high quality modernity. So even if we are not here for the things mentioned it could in fact be another exception. The permanent exhibition includes works of the best Danish painters of the 19th and 20th Centuries supplemented with interesting works of foreign artists. For a shorter while there was an exhibition focusing on the roll the soil plays in paintings. Could sound a bit odd when writing about it, but in fact it gave a very interesting perspective when being highlighted. The Staff of Ribe Konstmuseum is exceptional in its kindness and professionalism complemented with voluntaries not less professional I must say. Interesting conversations downstairs in the cafe´ were part of a visit to a museum in the heart of a town that takes good care of its culture, historic and modern.
