Obviously, they do this with every patient, so WHATS THE POINT OF WEARING GLOVES!? This place thought, is immaculate. Clean. The doctor was very approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. He was the son, I believe. Didn't try to force 500 different unnecessary procedures onto me. First time in years. I heard them talking to a patient next door, talking her OUT of an unnecessary procedure, which I appreciate. I have had too many dentists over the years who take advantage of insurance companies and charge erroneous fees- like one, I'll never forget, who tried to charge my insurance more than $300 for a tiny little "cavity" they scraped off in 2 minutes. Total scam. I called them on it and they removed the charges. SO much insurance scamming in this industry, it's nice to finally find an honest dentist who refuses to lie to make an extra buck. It's a rarity, believe me.

Not only was Dr. Loftus rude, when the numbing shots did not work, my 10-year old son began to scream. Dr. Loftus became irritated and said, "Calm down, we don't scream here. If you're going to continue to scream, you're going to have to go somewhere else." Mind you, he was pulling an already painful molar from my son's mouth. However, my son quieted himself to crying. Once the procedure was done, Dr. Loftus got up and walked out; he didn't say anything to my son or my husband. Thank you very much for showing your ability to care for children. They have shown contempt and disregard for me as a patient, customer and a person. I was referred to this office by my dentist who detected potential cancer concerns on my tongue. They sent me to this office and instructed me to take my medical insurance. Upon arriving at the West River office I was told they do not take medical insurance (even though a biopsy falls under a medical procedure). When I asked for clarification on why I was instructed to bring my insurance card to them, the receptionist sternly said "If you don't want to pay, you can leave." They choose to not work with medical insurance. For - what I gather - no other reason than laziness. I did pay in cash that day. That's what you do when the concern of cancer is lofted at you. 10 months later I received a phone call from Indiana University (IU). They did the lab work on my biopsy sample. But failed to send me a bill. IU blames West River for a minimal error in my address, and West River blames IU. West River did submit their work to my insurance company (a small outfit you may not have heard of - Blue Cross Blue Shield), but refused to recognize that IU was out of my network. West River did no due diligence to work with my insurance and send the lab work to somewhere in my network (they choose to ignore the many labs in the state of SD in favor of somewhere states away). They gave me not option or notice that they chose to use an out-of-network lab. To recap: They would not take health insurance (despite attempting to make a claim -- is that fraud?) They would not do due diligence to work within my insurance's network. They gave me no notification that they were contracting out this work and that I would have additional financial responsibilities. They gave IU my address incorrectly (according to IU) and I didn't receive bills or notice for over 10 months. They took my money (rudely and without compassion) and demonstrated no concern for the additional challenges they created for me. In fact they seemed inconvenienced that I would even bother to investigate these business practices. In as much as possible, do not give West River any of your business. I will update if West River decides to take any responsibility or actions to care for this customer.

Before seeing Dr Jensen I was taken to do an xray. I now understand it is an intraoral xray! Asked if it was covered the technician said yes. Finally see Dr Jensen , he states he can't put the crown on and wants me to see another dentist for imaging who is not on my insurance ! Left disappointed and confused because not my first crown for an implant! Go to another Dentist Dr Rice and he can put crown on with no problem. They sent a bill for over $350 for an xray not covered. They could not put crown on and wanted me to go to another dentist before they could do anything! This is just to warn anyone thinking of going to them.

What dentist does not realize that X-rays are a part of a procedure and should have been included in the "estimate." My experience with delayed billings like this is that the business is having financial problems.

Dr. Yeoman was so warm and funny that he put me at ease immediately as did his assistant Alex. During the procedure he was fast, precise, thorough and again, very gentle. So gentle he didn't even need to give me novocaine to fix two chips in my front tooth from gnawing on a ribeye bone. The results are BEAUTIFUL and maybe took 40 minutes. He's a magician. Staff members Alex, Rachel and Brandy were all absolutely terrific and got me in right away when I called to explain the issue. The gal who called me told me they received my referral to pull out tooth #. In order to set up an appointment to be seen and the tooth removed, I would need to put down $500 today. Um, excuse me, you need $500 to pull a tooth that is already falling out of my head. The gal told me it was their standard policy, and they needed a deposit incase I needed to be sedated. I told her that wasn't necessary as I only needed to have tooth pulled, that I could literally pull out with my own fingers. I didn't need to be put to sleep, I more than likely didn't need to even get a numbing shot. Called my regular dentist to get in to have the tooth pulled. When it is time to do my implant I will NOT EVER go through BHOS. They tend to scam people out of their money. If YELP set negative stars, they would get -5 stars based on their lack of empathy and their greed.
