This location is super cute. Not a fan of ordering off touch-screens, but I was able to order at the counter. We ordered the Japanese Curry, and just like Paula D said, the chicken katsu on tap was hard and dry. The Taro Tornado and Strawberry milk tea drinks with Boba were much too sweet. We did end up purchasing a very cute Kagome from Inuyasha. Essentially this place is kawaii overload, but dont expect much from the consumables. read more

So I've been really curious about this place, and decided to give it a try today! This is based on food and drink only! I ordered the Cha-Chu Ramen and Lavender Passionfruit Tea. The Ramen was so disappointing, and underwhelming! Honestly, one of the worst I have ever had! They didn't even serve with a Ramen egg, but a hard boiled egg! The pork belly was OK, but you only got a few green onions and a couple of fish cakes. The broth was flavorless, so thank goodness they had shichimi spice to add some flavor. As far as my tea, I could not taste the lavender whatsoever. I skipped the Boba as the drink was already $7.50 and they wanted $.75 more for Boba? Yes, there were a few pieces of fresh fruit in the tea, but $8.25 to get a drink here with Boba, ridiculous! Everything is served in plastic, which I am not a fan of, and they don't even have soup style spoons for the Ramen! They have a few tables, and a few counter seats, but definitely not a nice place to sit down and enjoy your food! The store has a good selection of Japanese/ Korean candy and snacks. Lots of Hello Kitty, and anime merch, that I know my great nephew would love! They did have some unique items in the dessert case which I may stop in to try one day, but as far as their food and drinks, it's a pass! I was thanked when I left, and the gal was on top of cleaning tables, but really nothing special. With a $2 tip, my disappointing Ramen and tea came out to $27.02! Ridiculous!!! When I enter an establishment and am greeted with a glare from a disinterested young person on their phone behind the register I am immediately turned off to the place. Was on the lookout for matcha, so found this place via a Yelp search. The decor of this place is so Japanese anime/cartoon eclectic and 100 percent kitschy awesome! The shelves - from floor to ceiling were covered in trinkets, sweet and savory Japanese snacks GALORE, ramen packets, drink boxes, paraphernalia, and more. Two big kiosk screens to order from, or, when it's not busy or you can't decide (me!), the front register is also an option. I went with a classic: Matcha Milk Tea with extra tapioca pearls. The bubble tea was decent, not sure if it's quite "the best" matcha I've had. I got it cold, and forgot to say "no ice", so I always feel that's a lot of the culprit when it comes to a watered down flavor. I did nab a few sweet treats to take share with the fam: A slice of their Crepe Cake and a homemade Hokkaido Milk Buns. The crepe cake melted from the sun's rays (yes, I even had the cold A/C on blast!), but was still delightfully enjoyable! The milk buns were also good. I came in February and was super excited to try this place out it looked so cute from the pictures. Unfortunately the day we went the guy that was there that day informed us that due to an emergency he wasn't able to make us drinks or anything else since he was just filling in. I think he said he worked across the street at the ramen shop?? (But I'm not 100% sure) It was a little disappointing that we couldn't try any of the drinks we wanted but he was really nice & funny that kind of made up for it. He did make us a Thai & Taro milk tea since they're pretty basic drinks. I definitely want to come back when we're in town to try the stuff on their menu. I recently visited with my sister, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. From the start, the self-pay machine was glitchy and kept pausing, which should have been the first red flag. Despite the issues, we placed our order for two Thai iced teas but somehow received one Thai iced tea and one Thai coffee instead. I politely approached the woman I assumed was the owner and explained the situation, asking if she could correct the drink since their faulty machine caused the error. She curtly replied, "We don't do that here." Confused, I asked about the price difference between the Thai iced tea and the Thai coffee, thinking that might be the issue, but she told me they were priced the same. If the drinks cost the same, why not simply replace it? It felt as though they were trying to save on product costs at the expense of customer satisfaction. I declined the incorrect drink and left it with her. My sister, understandably upset since she paid, went back in to request a refund, only to be told, "We don't do that here." My sister told the woman that the machine wasn't working properly (AGAIN) and proceeded to give my sister a tutorial about the machine. Instead of resolving the issue, she kept pointing out to my sister that I must have placed the wrong order. Even if that were true, why accuse or blame the customer for what was clearly a simple mistake? A professional business would have focused on making things right and pleasing the customer rather than doubling down and creating unnecessary conflict. Also there was no signage indicating a no refund policy, which is misleading and unprofessional. And if there is a sign make it bigger and put it in the front window and the front of the register. Hopefully, after this feedback, they address that issue. Upon looking at other reviews, I noticed this is a pattern with this establishment. The owner has responded to other customers' concerns on google reviews in a condescending and unprofessional manner, calling people "Karens" and even replying to a simple bathroom inquiry with, "You're not that special, buddy." This behavior is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of respect for customers. This isn't the first time they've messed up our order, but I always let it go. After this experience, I will not return and will be warning others to avoid this place. Customer service matters, and this establishment clearly doesn't prioritize it. I liked the decor inside however it's a bit overwhelming as it's everywhere. The lady who serviced me was very kind. After making the drive up north from the Valley this afternoon, we were a hungry little family! Instead of stopping by one of the usual spots here in town, I checked Yelp and came across this fun and unique little Japanese joint. I'm so mad at myself that I didn't take a picture of my absolutely delicious veg gyoza. The six gyoza ($8) were actually beautiful to look at. My friend had a salad with truffle...she mentioned that it was quite good with just the right amount of truffle. You're probably wondering only three stars?Well, Rice Things had only been open two weeks. As a result, the menu and order kiosk were not very current or informative, the staff was unsure about ingredients and pricing and the food took an unusually long time. I normally get the Thai coffee here but the past 5+ times I've gone I've always had to ask for extra cream because the coffee in the drink is so strong and when you mix them the coffee is still consuming the drink and to make it less appetizing you have to constantly adjust the sweetness because the drink used to be sweet. I would like to try this place again but having to modify my drink every time is inconvenient. Boba quality was okay, tried the Taro and Matcha milk tea both we're not great the matcha seemed to not have a great flavor of quality matcha and the Taro was overly sweet with little to no resemblance of Taro and when asked to exchange to a different flavor when the drink was only tasted and still had the full amount left I was refused to be exchanged to a different drink.
