At first he wanted me to pay half upfront before providing me with a contract or invoice. He also insisted that I pay the full amount before he completes the job. He did such a sloppy and terrible job. Despite sharing the OWNER'S MANUAL - ANCHORING LAYOUT with him, the anchors were incorrectly measured and installed. He measured 14 by 10 (which were the measurements for the gazebo, not the posts). While Alex was working, my brother stopped by and noticed that he didn't install the anchors while the cement was wet so I tried calling him before he left so he can fix the issue. He ignored all of my calls. I texted him to call me. He called me and shouted at the top of his lungs, " STOP CALLING ME, STOP CALLING ME! I'LL CALL YOU LATER" and hung up in my face. His behavior changed completely. I was shocked. He ended up coming back to install some screws after the cement cured. They were supposed to be 42 inches deep to support the heavy gazebo but instead they were 7 inches in. Even with him measuring 14 by 10, they weren't even at ALL. One side was off by 11 inches. Sad to say, it all went to waste because the measurements were all off and we had to find another alternative after I already paid him $1100. :(

My project involved preparing the bed for…read moreplanting, which included tearing out two existing larger sized and two tiny bushes, cutting out tree roots, installing Black Diamond lawn edging, planting the shrubs and bushes we had purchased, putting down mulch, and over seeding the lawn with additional topsoil. This was relatively a small job, as this was for a condo unit. After the bushes were torn out, for some reason they complained about the tree roots. Although, this was in their scope of work, we agreed that we would pay additional money for their efforts to remove any roots that were in the way of the edging. He knew he had to bring a saw to tackle the roots but never brought one. This Contractor was unskilled in the installation of the edging. In fact, he stated he did not like to install edging. After the removal of the bushes, this contractor would show up in the late afternoon around 4 to 5 pm but after the removal of the bushes nothing more was accomplished. The contractor indicated he had a day job and that he could only come after work. We did not know this when we decided to use them. We ended up firing them after paying 50% down for this project. All I got was bushes removed and uninstalled edging with two spikes! I would not recommend this company.

So I pretty much started from scratch. This company should be the poster child for how every contractor should run his business. He does not work for free certainly, but he earned every penny. He was on my property practically every day supervising the work, coordinating with everyone concerned and he got everything done ON TIME, as promised. If anything was concerning me, he was managed it immediately and cheerfully. He had to work with and around other contractors who made his job difficult, but he never made excuses. The landscape company, Tuzinowski and pool builder, Gillette, that Richard hired did an excellent job. When you pay someone to manage a project, it should be organized and timely. The customer should not have to spend all his or her time trying to micromanage everyone; that is what the builder/architect/contractor is supposed to do. Richard Hass made the company building my addition look really bad by comparison. But that is another review... I recommend this company to anyone who wants quality, integrity, and accountability. Chris came out a few days later and we went over the project details. He gave me the estimate right on the spot. Which doesn't seem to be very common anymore. I found the price for the work to be very reasonable and put my 50% down the next morning. To my surprise they started the work just a few days later with getting the top soil brought in to level the grade. The following afternoon they brought the bricks for the flower bed and knocked that out in about 4 hours. They did a good job, they guys were super nice and you could tell they take pride in their work. I would also like to note that Sarah kept in constant contact with me. If the guys were running a bit behind. I would get a message from her letting me know. I truly appreciate a company who cares enough to keep you in the loop and communicate with their customers at all times. I will be using this company again next spring for a larger landscaping project in my backyard. Their quality of work and fair prices put this company ahead of the others I have tried. What a fantastic job they did! This company has trimmed my bushes two or three times prior to today and I will continue to use them and recommend them. In addition to the bushes in the backyard, this company was able to shape up my small trees in the front yard. They are not a tree company but they have enough tools to make my front yard look fantastic. They also cleaned up all of the trimmings and took them away. Our experience started out great. Contacted via Facebook, received a prompt reply, hired them to…read moresod our backyard. The crew came, got it all done in a day -- looked awesome! Then... after watering as advised for a few weeks, making sure to keep the dogs off, we noticed certain areas weren't taking root. Pretty soon, those areas started drying up and turning brown. Contacted again, via Facebook, received a reply that we should be patient, give it some time. Waited a few more weeks, contacted again. Was told that nothing could be done, as it was now December. Should wait till the spring. Waited till March, then a guy came out to take a look. Told us to give it a few more weeks, if not better they would replace with fresh sod, no problem. End of April, still not better. Spoke to same guy on the phone, this time he said he'd prefer NOT to re-do, as they don't really offer a guarantee. Maybe we could work out a deal to Said he'd never seen anything like what had happened with our yard before. Maybe the sod itself was bad? Said he'd discuss with the farmer and he would get back to me... That was 5/9/19, it's now 6/10/19 and still no word, despite my attempt at a follow up on 5/20/19. Don't get me wrong, these things happen, I understand that. But to ignore someone, hoping they'll go away is just not good business. Neither is saying you'll fix something, then saying you'd rather not.
