We strongly recommend them for your wedding. David and Kim are full of great, positive energy. We found it really fun to work with them and they got along great with our families. Our wedding combined American, Indian, and Korean traditions and cultures. It was important for us to have photographers that were willing to learn about these cultures and capture them at their best. David and Kim were enthusiastic to learn about our cultures and it certainly showed in the final product. David and Kim are a husband a wife team. When you hire them you get two very skilled photographers who work together extremely well to capture two angles of every moment. They can be in two places at once and the final photos we received did not miss a single moment. We were really pleased with their system of a 2-hour engagement photo session (included in the price) several months prior to the wedding. This allowed David and Kim to get to know our personalities prior to the wedding day. From the engagement pictures we were able to provide feedback as to the types of photos we really liked and the types or poses we did not care for. The engagement photo session was a real blast for us. We brought our dog along and David and Kim captured some really great moments with our dog on the beach. I was so comfortable with him, especially since it was my FIRST professional photos. He was very helpful with positioning my face/body to get the best natural looking pictures. We worked for a few hours, went to a few locations, and did a couple of outfit changes. I got a lot of really good pictures from it! When my boyfriend (now husband) proposed to me, he hired Dusty to take pictures for it! He knew how much I loved his work, so he ended up shooting our wedding. In our case, we even have excellent photographers and fancy cameras in the family, but capturing our 1-year old as anything but a blur and getting a picture of all three of us together was next to impossible. I had been keeping tabs on Joey's work for some time and when we were ready, I went through his gallery and wrote to all the friends I recognized who he had done sessions with (he's the go-to guy in the City now, apparently!). They unanimously said that he was easy to work with, professional, and caught the shots they were looking for. So we set it up! One of things I was struck by was how easy the logistics were, such as paying the deposit online, filling out a pre-shoot survey that asked helpful questions about what we had in mind, and choosing shots for prints from our gallery on his website. Joey is also affordable and turns the photos around quickly--we were able to choose shots to frame for Christmas presents within a few days of our session. The company he gets prints through was also speedy and the quality was perfect (especially compared to the DIY photo site options I've been floundering with this past year). Most importantly, Joey's documentary style of shooting was the right fit for us. He knows the city and it's backdrops extremely well, but I liked that he recommended we stay in our neighborhood so that when we look back at the photos, we will remember this time in our lives. Plus it made our kiddo more comfortable to be in his own space, playing with his own stuff. I was nervous that it was starting to rain and we wanted some outdoor shots, but it was no problem! I also loved how stealthy Joey was. I barely noticed him running around taking photographs. But when you see his photos of those special moments, its as if he was right next to you the entire time! He managed to capture the most beautiful and intimate shots, without being in the middle of them. Even after the wedding, Joey still delivers amazing responsiveness and concern for his clients. Joey had proofs and a slide show ready in two weeks, which is incredibly fast for a photographer. When I saw the photos, I was so happy with the way they turned out.
