I do not know where to start. David and Kim are amazing! I found them on craiglist and didnt know if they were going to flakes. Quite the opposite! David & Kim - what can I say? This duo is worth meeting and dealing with. They are fantastic, lovely, super nice people with an eye for photography. David is high energy and Kim is quiet but has big vision. 8/27/11 - Day of our wedding, they started at my house. Then, David went to the church to start capturing the moments there and Kim stayed with me in the limo. Those were some fantastic shots in the limo! They were totally not intrusive during the ceremony and managed to catch the smallest details like my grandfather shedding a tear. Our reception photos are fantastic too. I wish I would have made a list of all the other photo ideas I thought of later on but the moments that were captured spur of the moment are now memories that I will always have. They are totally professional and respond quickly to questions. They get your pictures back so fast too. I was amazed by how fast they got us the raw footage on disk. Our album came out so beautiful too. We bought the upgraded album and it is so worth it. My parents and aunt have seen it so far and they absolutely loved the quality and were surprised by the thick pages. This style wasn't around when they got married. The photo we chose for the back of our album had one slight issue (someone stood in the way of what should have been perfect). dkWeddings (not sure which one of these fantastic people fixed it), managed to take the guy out of the photo and make it so that it was like he was never there, giving us the perfect photo after all. The only feedback I have for this company is to find an easier way to go through the photos for ordering. An 'add to cart' button and quantity along with a link for family members to purchase would be awesome. The current system is a bit tedious but the very well priced and competitive prices (as in you will not want to order elsewhere) and the amazing quality make it worth the effort. We do have the disk and are allowed to go elsewhere for ordering photos but I don't want crappy quality Walgreens kiosk photos who's ink bleeds most of the time. dKweddings. Where to even start?! At every turn, David and Kim provided excellent, above and beyond service! They absolutely followed through on their 24 hour turn-around e-mail responses. They were completely transparent in their information and service/package pricing. Just wonderfully honest people. When my husband - at the time fiance - and I first met David and Kim, they were so hospitable. My husband is usually very quiet and shy when meeting new people, but they made us feel so at ease that he opened up to them very quickly and felt comfortable talking about our relationship. This was essential so we could get a feel for if their photography style would accurately portray our relationship. We are very happy to say that it did! They have awesome, high-end photography equipment -- and it shows in the quality of the photos! They explained they had a triple back-up system so that if any piece of equipment failed during the engagement shoot or wedding, there was back-up equipment to the back-up equipment. That provided a great deal of relief as well. As a couple, David and Kim work in-sync like no other photographers I've ever seen. Many of my guests commented later when viewing the photos that they had no idea our photographers were even there capturing those moments. My parents commented that they moved like ninjas, here and there like a flash but barely noticeable. Their photography package was extremely inclusive and even then, they provided above and beyond what their contract asked for. Their service was beyond excellent! Both in the engagement photo session and on our wedding day, we went over the time frame allotted but they stayed anyway to capture everything. They sent us a few extra gifts which were such sweet and thoughtful surprises! I just can't believe how great a service and how wonderful a couple that David and Kim are! Here is why: 1) Professional: - emails are responded quickly, and they follow up every now and then without making you feel rush. - patience. we met with them for a consultation and they answered all and every questions. we sat for over 3 hours (which we were surprised that we took up so much time). plus, they made the experience pleasant. - they bring examples of their work and album samples. 2) Price: - very reasonable. they are straight-shooters. David & Kim were great photographers! They took our engagement pictures and were also going to take our wedding pictures as well, but due to unforeseen events, we had to change our wedding date. David and Kim were willing to accommodate us, but they were already booked for the date we moved our wedding to. I was super bummed out because when we got our engagement pictures, they were awesome and I was upset that they weren't going to be able to take our pictures. David definitely spoiled me with the way he handles his business. When I e-mail him to ask questions, he always replies within 24 hours. I've had to find another photographer for our wedding and it frustrates me when I have to contact them and they don't get back to me until a week later! If you're trying to find a photographer, you should definitely consider their services! I think the only thing that would make them better is if they retouched pictures that needed them. I was having skin issues when we took our engagement pictures and it was clearly visible when I got the pictures. Not only do they take great wedding shots, But with David and Kim both being photographers, there are constantly 2 cameras shooting throughout the event. This obviously doubles the great shots! We had a great experience working with David and Kim for our engagement and wedding photos. We would highly recommend them to any of our friends and family. David & Kim were extremely positive, energetic and down-to-earth which helped greatly with us feeling comfortable, particularly for the candid shots. They even had a few icebreaker ideas for our candid shots which helped get us started. We're not the most comfortable people in front of a camera but they really helped us have a lot of fun being ourselves in front of the camera. We really fed off their positive energy. They were also very responsive and easy to work with. We had numerous scheduling conflicts that they were happy to work around. For example, they trekked all the way to San Francisco during a weekday with heavy traffic so that we could work around a few scheduling conflicts. Photography is clearly a passion and they go above and beyond to ensure that their work is the best that it can be. When it was tough to get certain shots we had previously planned, they proactively thought of creative ways for us to work them in, without interrupting the course of events. It's been a while since I've written a review on Yelp. I usually log in to write negative reviews for bad experiences at other places. This is not the case for dKweddings. My wife and I had a wonderful experience working with David and Kim on our Feb 26 wedding. We planned our wedding in a short amount of time and we had to chose our vendors quickly. My wife responded to a posting from dKweddings on Craigslist. Honestly, I was a little skeptical at first since we were meeting a photographer from Craigslist. Were they legit? Wouldn't a good photographer be booked year round? From the first 5 minutes of our first meeting, my doubts went away. David and Kim were very professional and did a great job with presenting their rates and services. They are new to the area and need to build a new client base. This was a win win situation for us! We got an experienced team for a wonderful price. When it comes to weddings, experience counts. Also, having a couple who is married and went through the wedding planning/wedding day experience is definitely a plus. They understand the stress, time crunch, logistic issues, and overall craziness that goes on that day. Our engagement session was great. David and Kim had some great suggestions and poses for us to do with the location we chose. They were willing to work with us and listen to our suggestions that day and on on the online albums. It was very helpful to do a engagement shoot to get a feel for their style. For those of you getting married or are married, the magic word is compromise. Our wedding day was tricky because we had a few hours off between the ceremony and reception. We had an awesome outdoor shoot with the bridal party and they did a great job taking photos of the reception. They even helped my friend out that evening! RESEARCHING: My husband and I were willing to splurge more on our photography for our wedding, but we didn't want any of those soft, romantic, fuzzy looking photos. We wanted a photographer who could capture priceless expressions of our guests, beautiful colors, and still give a realistic look to our photos. We know we aren't celebrities, so we didn't need anything that looked glamorous all the time. We met with three photographers that we liked after researching 10-20 of them online. David and Kim were the winners right off the bat, and they were the first ones we met with. We met with them after a long day of work, and they were comfortable to talk to even after 2-3 hours of chatting (more comfortable than the other photographers we met with). They spent time showing us potential styles they could do for us after hearing our preferences, and even though we were very tired after work, they were patient with our questions and gave us time to think through things. ENGAGEMENT & WEDDING SHOOTS: We booked them in December for an SF engagement shoot in February and Mountain View & San Jose wedding shoot in April. Along the way, they sent us a few small gifts that let us know they were thinking of us and excited to work with us (not necessary but a very nice touch). The SF engagement shoot was so fun, and they even brought sparklers for our shoot when we requested a couple photos with them. We requested a couple of poses and let them tell us what to do the rest of the time. They stayed an extra hour to finish the photos and try different things even though they didn't have to! On the wedding day, they also did a great job; plus, it was their first time at our church and first time at the country club in San Jose. Our friends and family were comfortable working with them and listening to David's and Kim's guidance. We loved the wedding photos we received, and dKweddings especially delivered on capturing our friends' candid expressions throughout the day whether it was during the ceremony, dinner, or games. It was great to see that dKweddings considered our preference to capture the serious and fun times of the ceremony and to remember the wedding day as a celebration of not just only my husband and me but also a celebration of our friends and family who have supported us. David & Kim are absolutely awesome - all engaged couples should use them for their engagement photo shoot! My then-fiancée (and now husband) & I are not used to getting our photo taken (as probably most people aren't), and David & Kim made us feel so comfortable around them. They set up an initial meeting a month before the shoot, and explained to us how we could prepare for the shoot and make it go smoothly- and even gave us feedback throughout the preparation about what locations we suggested would be optimal for shooting and why - their in-depth knowledge of photography definitely showed! We love our photos from our Nov 2013 wedding! David and Kim work hard and are really passionate about what they do. They shot our engagement photos as well, which was a good opportunity for us to get to know each other and what our style is for the wedding day. I was definitely turned off by photographers that made it a requirement to have to go through them for every (marked-up) details. We had two engagement shoots. The first was in Old Town Pasadena and the other was at The Griffith Observatory. David and Kim were extremely accomodating in allowing us to have the shoot the way we wanted it. And were always there to help us with our poses when we didnt know what to do...haha. The quality of the photos came out FANTASTIC! All of our family and friends that saw the pictures were amazed with the angles, lighting and overall feel of the pictures. They definitely told a story and captured everything that my wife and I wanted to portray. Come the wedding, David and Kim were very professional. From the ceremony to the reception, they were able to help orchestrate our party and capture our precious moments. With our wedding just recently passing, we can't wait to see how all the pictures turned out. This review is a wee bit late--But I must say David and Kim are just simply awesome in every aspect--They did our engagement party shoot and our wedding 10-8-11--The pictures with 2 photographers capture all those moments that happen so quick--As most brides I had amnesia during the wedding but seeing the special moments David and Kim captured made tears of joy roll down my eyes after several weeks after the actual day--They capture 1500 pics so the cost seem an exceptional bargain! David and Kim are the absolute best! They were our wedding photographers and also did our engagement ceremony and they absolutely nailed it. They are both extremely friendly, warm and very comforting. They made the engagement session a lot of fun. On our wedding day they were everywhere, trying to make sure every moment was captured. They are very passionate about their work and I would say there was not a moment when I felt I had to be looking for our photographer. Not only are they great at candid shots, but they planned out ahead of time some great poses and locations as well. Their pictures are great to say the least. We are very lucky to have David and Kim on our wedding. David is very responsive and always replies email within a day. When I sent him the wedding day agenda, he really studied it and gave me valuable feedback. On our wedding day, not only they were on time to the hotel for our getting ready pictures, they went to the ceremony site earlier to look for good photo spots. We were taking a lot of group photos after ceremony. Some of the guests are not used to taking pictures. David coordinated with them and made it a fun activity. David and Kim work perfectly with each other. David's style is vivid and fun. Kim is classic and detailed. As a result, we got both! I have worked with over 10 professional photographers before. We are so extremely happy that we found David and Kim on Wedding Wire! David and Kim did our engagement shoot, and our wedding, and the pictures couldn't have turned out more perfect. They had a way of capturing our personalities in every shot, while creating a beautiful picture that showcased us as a couple, and the environment we were in. During the wedding, this also resulted in shots that captured our relationships with our friends and family as well, and somehow being able to get the feeling of the day captured in a shot; it brings me right back to our wedding day when I look through the hundreds of photos that were shot. We had some inclement weather on our engagement shoot day and wedding day, but that didn't stop David and Kim from getting creative and being flexible with our shoot. Usually people find photographers from other people's experience, weddings, and people that they know. Not in our case, I was at about 5 weddings last year, and my wedding was the last one in December. I was asking around for photographers people have worked with, but then decided to search the web and see what else was out there. We accidentally found David and Kim through the Internet. I looked at their portfolio and website, and I had no doubt about it that I wanted them to be our photographers for our wedding. I absolutely love their style, their uniqueness, and their passion for photography. So we called them, and from the get go they were so nice, interesting, and had so many ideas for wedding photography. They really only care about what you like and what you want. We first did our engagement shoot, WHICH WAS INCREDIBLE!!! and then finally our wedding. Before I get to the photos, during the wedding, David and Kim put so much effort into capturing every moment, and when I say every moment, I mean it!!! closer to the end of the wedding the grooms friends stole the bride(me):) and then the groom has to run and find her, David and Kim were following and running after the groom just to capture that moment! I always knew that the photographer would be one of the most important parts of the wedding. I was a little worried though after my research because all the ones I found online were super expensive and we were on a very tight budget. We found DKWeddings on craigslist. At first we were a little hesitant, but from our very first meeting with them, we knew they were the right choice. The samples they showed us were excellent and their prices were very very reasonable compared to what I've seen. They were the first and only photographers we met with and knew right away we wanted them to shoot our wedding. They are a husband and wife team that work great together. It's a such a great deal for what you pay for because you get 2 photographers and several different shots and angles. David was always quick to respond to each and every email, no matter what time I sent it. At first, we didn't want to do an engagement shoot, since we didn't think we had time being that my husband lives in another state and he had very limited visits to CA until the wedding. But David convinced us and it was a great decision. We were able to sample their work and became so comfortable with them that on the wedding day we felt like naturals in front of the camera. Our engagement photos turned out awesome! Such amazing quality and breath-taking shots! Whenever a bride tells you to soak in every moment you can on your wedding day, definitely believe her! The whole day was such a blur. David and Kim did a spectacular job in capturing every moment of our day and also each little detail we put into the wedding. My husband and I literally relived the day looking at the photos since we didn't remember too much of it since it went by so quickly. They probably took double the amount of photos we were expecting and the quality of their work was just so amazing. I honestly wish we can get married again just so we can take more pictures! =) Overall, the photography was the only stress free part of the wedding. They always reassured me when I was worried about something by answering my questions immediately. And i was never concerned with how the finished product would turn out. I trusted them since we noticed that they are very passionate with what they do. They love taking pictures and make sure that each shot is perfect. David and Kim were so easy to work with. They are very professional, but also very fun. Our photos were delivered to us within 4 weeks (both engagement and wedding); which is definitely a lot faster than most other photographers our friends have used. Price is very good as well. They really are as good as it gets!!! Amazing! David and Kim make an exceptional photography team! They are extremely professional and have great creative vision. My husband and I used their services for our engagement photos as well as for our wedding. They gave us A TON of photos and have the skills and vision needed to get us unique photos that really captured the special moments during our special day. Their work during the day was seamless and the seemed to just know where to be to capture each moment from the perfect angle. They captured wonderful candids that made me cry when we were looking back through our photos--things I never even knew happened. They instantly got a feel for who we were and that really showed. David & Kim captured some of the most amazing photos from our wedding that I have ever seen. My whole family knew we didn't have a fortune to spend on our wedding and we not expecting amazing professional pictures. Well a few weeks after the wedding when we received our pictures everyone was completely blown away by how awesome they were. My wife and I are not the most photogenic people around but you sure wouldn't be able to tell that by looking at the pictures. David and Kim did a great job capturing the best of moments on our wedding day. I'll even go out and say that some of the pictures they took of my wife on the day of our wedding can easily be featured in a professional magazine; they're really that good. They were both always early to all of our meetings, always communicated to questions right away, and could not have provided better quality pictures. I'm in my mid twenties and have many friends that have gotten married recently and our photos completely blow away all of the others. Most of my friends even paid more than we did. Hiring the photographer was a very serious decision, as they would be responsible for capturing the permanent memories of our special day. My wife and I were unusually lucky. As an engineer from the same company, I happen to work only a few feet away from David, and so I had already gotten to know him well in advance of my wedding. From his reputation at work, I knew that he was already trusted to be one of our most professional and trusted employees, and so when I heard that he also worked as a professional photographer, I was lucky to know enough about David to authentically expect great work. We were still impressed, though, to meet his wife, and to learn about her own impressive contributions to their photography. And we frankly were even more impressed when David and Kim showed us their portfolio of absolutely beautiful photos. It took little time for us to decide to work with David and Kim for our engagement session and wedding photography. It actually took us ourselves, honestly, longer to psych ourselves up for the sessions; neither my wife not I were used to such luxurious treatment. But David and Kim set us at ease within moments, and both my wife and I were astounded by how quickly the time flew by. And, though we'd been impressed many a time, we were still blown away by how lovely our photos turned out. We have absolutely zero regrets to working with David and Kim. David and Kim deliver a top notch experience! From day one, David replied promptly to all my emails and answered all my questions. We had so much fun during our engagement and wedding shoots. Yes, David will ask you to climb on the rock, ran around the beach, do jumping jacks, twists all the way backwards and even do a yoga pose but it's all good because they make it fun and make you laugh while doing it. They took lots of amazing pictures on our engagement session and wedding day. They did a great job capturing our personalities and in the moment shots that I am eternally grateful.
